Yep. Some of what he says is credible and a lot easy to disagree with, but a lot of people are being disagreeable for the sake of it and without actually bothering to listen.

He makes a good point though. Your style is a hybrid of unnecessary antagonism and mostly leftie opinion. No room for discussion. You're right that this is the worst government in memory though. -

Unlikely. He's gotta plug gaps with whoever will take the jobs. Decent people will either stand to replace him or stand back and have nothing to do with him. The new PM will make up his/her own cabinet anyway, and only a few (eg Wallace) are likely to stay in post. -
Matter of opinion. We played very well at times with W-P at left back and Livra at right back. I think the important thing as to play a left footer ahead of W-P when he's at left back.
-
Agreed. People are fixated with left footed players on the left getting crosses in, but that gets us nowhere without someone on the end of them. A right footer cutting in on his right has the ability to get a shot away or play a ball through to a forward making a run. The latter often has more of a goal threat than a cross. For me, KWP down the left is no less of an attacking threat than KWP down the right.
-
Correct. I'd guess the market for KWP is a small one. City, Chelsea, Newcastle won't be in for him. I can only see a couple of premier league clubs wanting him meaning he'll go for what he'll command in the real world, not what some fans hope he'll go for.

I repeat what I said above - if he's sold for anything like £40m feel free to tell me I'm wrong. I could do this all night but it's boring mate.

You should know buy now that I don't have any time for your nonsense MLG. I repeat what I said above - if he's sold for anything like £40m feel free to tell me I'm wrong.

Yep, too early to say. However it's happened, we've been very active which is great to see 👍

Exactly. People aren't living in the real world. An investment is only an investment if you get your cash back plus a return. These guys have been clear on our model, and that model is not to chuck tens of millions on payers who may prove to be duds it see our their contracts thus giving no return.

That's possible. My guess is that their resources mean that they've fronted our purchases without ua needing to sell first, but that we need to balance it up. Essentially, bridging to buy. Whatever has happened, getting in the market early doors is refreshing and means that we're not playing catch-up and/or being held to ransom.
-
Thanks for explaining it. I'd got bored.

It's happened forever! Clubs won't bid on a player who doesn't want to come. A chat via the agent to enquire "what wages would it take to get your lad" happens all the time.
-
My reading of the latest accounts meant that we need revenue from sales to operate. Despite sound that in the past we've taken a huge loan, and our wage bill has been crippling. Hopefully you're correct and we don't have to sell, let's see 🤞
-
Jeez. Ever decreasing circles. He won't be sold for £40m. What he'll be sold for, if he goes this summer, I have no idea. Hopefully he won't, but we ain't got a money tree.
-
The difference is that they've found money for transfers. On the basis that we are self sustaining still (they've said that we are and I'll assume they're honest!) then revenue is needed to balance it up....cos we've bought before we've sold doesn't mean that we don't have to sell after we've bought!
-
No idea, I don't do footy manager type guesses. For those saying KWP won't be sold, who will be to balance the books? JWP? Gotta be realistic, and accept that 1) we're a club which needs revenue, and 2) if its KWP who gets sold, he's worth what someone will pay for him, not what some fans on a footy forum hope we'll get for him. The truth is a bitter pill sadly.
-
Not sure that's correct. We've probably shelled out £40m Inc signing bonuses and agents commission. We've been told that we're still a self sustaining club. The difference with sports republic is that they've been able to find a way of buying without selling first, but that doesn't alter the need to bring in revenue to be self sustaining. JWP and KWP are our most disposable valuable assets. Sure, his contract makes him worth a few quid, but I can't see too many premier league clubs who'd need / want him so if this summer is his year to move on, his value is the most anyone will actually pay us.
-
These football game guesses at valuations are ridiculous. He's not a £40m player, not even close. The fact is that we are a club who need to balance the books, so selling someone is inevitable. He's an easily sold asset. As much as I like him, if they offer something we find acceptable, I could see him going.
-
Agreed. Imo we need a Broja type player, ie big plus mobile. Armstrong isn't the answer sadly.
