  1. Nah, they'll go all BBC. It'll be a black ex player or e female ex player, which is fine if its on merit but I suspect that a white male candidate now has zero chance of getting the job on merit.
  2. Cheers, reading the whole quote you can see that his intentions were honourable. Where he fell down was the use of the word choice, which in the context of saying other things which seemingly cause offence, wasn't too clever.
  3. It's a shocker MB. Deserve to get battered with that team.
  4. That's not how I heard it, but regardless, the words gay and choice in the same breath aren't clever.
  5. Would like to see Bertrand back for this. Could see Traore terrorising anyone else we play at LB.

We're a top 4 club now so have a divine right to hold players back from England duty.
  7. You refer to "lazy stereotypes". He was referring to what was said to him, and what he's seen. Why is it wrong to mention as a fact something that one sees and hears as a fact? I have daughters, when they were younger and did footy training. they hated having the ball booted at them. That's a statement of fact, not a stereotype. I'm with you completely on the gay point though. Describing sexuality as any kind of choice shows a complete lack of awareness. I have no idea of the make up of the FA. I agree though that ex players relatively fresh out of the game should be involved. You've not suggested that those players should be black. If you were implying that, we'd disagree - give the job to the best candidates regardless of race. Positive discrimination, for me, is discriminatory and should have no place.

  9. Lovely post. Thanks for sharing it.
  10. Positive discrimination is just as bad as negative discrimination. Give jobs on merit, refuse on lack of merit.
  11. Unless I'm mistaken, "coloured" remains an ethnic group in South Africa to describe coloured people / people of colour. OK over there racist over here. Ridiculous.

  13. The reaction to this is worse than what he said. I have a black friend who describes black people as "coloured". I'll message him in a bit to let him know he's racist.

Great player but he's made of glass. No point in having a player who isn't going to stay fit enough to play more regularly. Hopefully he can sort these issues out, but if he hasn't done so by now you've got to wander if he ever will.

    Coronavirus

What figures are being misread? What's the correct figures? Back to the original point though, I'm surprised that you don't agree that we all have a responsibility to reduce transmission, thus reduce strain on the NHS. That sort of attitude has helped cause this mess. I'm not sure why say ask if I believe what the government says, but are you disputing that cases are increasing and that hospital admissions are increasing? If you are disputing it, do you have any evidence or are you doing a Trump?

    Coronavirus

Nonsense. It's the job of all of us to act responsibly, and in doing so reduce the strain on the NHS. The only reason we're in this "lockdown" is become there are too many dinlo's who refuse to obey simple instruction and guidance, thus a sledgehammer has been used to crack a nut.

Do you think that the strain on the health service will reduce or increase if we can all mingle and do as we please? Straightforward answer please.

    5 Sub Rule

Keep it at 3. Neither Klopp nor Pep used the 3 x subs which makes a mockery of their call for 5. They also have good squads. Neco Williams or Milner could have played RB ahead of TAA. Klopp could have rested one of his usual front 3 and played Jota, but instead he played all 4 of them. Managers need to manage their resources better.

Del, picking up on the comment on the other thread. The point for me is that we're £120m more expensive than Derby. We're established. Spending the extra £120m on Derby may not get anything near as good as we are now. Personally I doubt £120m will get anything near what we have. I'd spend the extra on us if I had, unless I wanted a project to play with. On that last point, Derby have huge appeal. Good stadium, fanbase, and the ability to grow it. We're limited by geography. New fans can be drawn in from the east midlands and south yorkshire. Youngsters from Nottingham wanting something better than forest and county can offer may be converted. It'd be a great project with more potential, fan wise, than we can offer.
  23. Yep, repetitive. Both loons. Both democratically elected. Otherwise completely different. I'm not sure what there is to discuss.
  24. How the hell did that quote pop up on this thread?! I get that, but I'll pop it on the correct thread.
