I'm not getting back into another boring debate about whether everything about us in the telegraph comes from the club. Try to focus on what our manager has said, and then trying to apply some logic as to why he may be saying it.

It may not be yours, but having read this forum for years, that's the way it comes across that many think. The point is that we may be in the market, and may have been quoted daft wages, fees etc so understandably have not pursued players, and will then seek to give the impression that we're OK with what we have. It's highly possible that we've been unable to get deals over the line for whatever reasons and are stating publicly that we're happy with what we have...any other message makes us a hostage to fortune if we go into the market.

I think they'll struggle too. A bottom half finish is available at 4/1 which I think is a sound bet. I'll have a few quid on that. Bottom 6 is a bit unlikely though, but a small bet at 50's is tempting.

You make a good point, but personally I'd love to say some of the traditional big clubs back in the top flight. They'll bring proper crowds, and give us brilliant away days. I'd take Leeds and West Brom over Bournemouth and Norwich all day long. Throw in a Sheffield Wednesday or Forest through the play offs in place of Watford or Burnley for good measure.

Sure, he did things as part of his role in that regime which were deplorable, but that doesn't make him a terrorist. If he was, its not for Trump to meddle in other countries affairs. Yes, I'm serious. You know I'm not comparing Raab to Solemani as a character. Focus on the principle if you can. This was the killing of a senior figure of a sovereign regime on foreign soil. The USA are not the worldwide police force. Should the Americans also take out the murderous leaders of Saudi Arabia and Israel, or does their conduct not matter as they support the USA economy? If they're off target, explain why there can legitimately be one rule for Iran and another rule for American allies.

The actions of the Iranian regime are appalling, but it doesn't alter the fact that the Iranians would have not needed to react to the American action if they had not taken that action. The murdering of Solemani and the rest of the convoy is no different than, say the USA, killing Dominic Raab or another senior British political or military leader as he was driven away from, say an airport on foreign soil. No difference whatsoever. It was an outrageous act that has been followed by outrageous acts. Both sides are guilty. In terms of shooting protesters with live ammunition, if you condemn what the Iranians are doing, take a look at what Israel do in Gaza and the West Bank on a daily basis with their American supplied weapons and ammunition.

Great Post in many respects. There's too much negativity and naivety from many posters, and a belief that if we don't get transfers over the line then promises (!) are somehow being broken and/or the club and it's senior staff are incompetent.
