You're tedious, other posters don't want another debate about newspaper articles and who's theory is correct. The most recent and indisputable as to origin transfer info comes from Ralph. I'm interested in that, not what the telegraph wrote 2 months ago.
-
I'm not getting back into another boring debate about whether everything about us in the telegraph comes from the club. Try to focus on what our manager has said, and then trying to apply some logic as to why he may be saying it.
-
That's the article. The relevant source, for me, is Ralph. He clearly said that he wanted and expected full backs. He's now changed his tune. Either financial support ain't there for that, he's suddenly concluded that Vokins is good enough and Valery has made a miraculous recovery, or as I've said above sellers/players/agents are taking the **** and we're playing it cool. Personally I think it's the last one - let's see where we are when the window shuts.
-
It may not be yours, but having read this forum for years, that's the way it comes across that many think. The point is that we may be in the market, and may have been quoted daft wages, fees etc so understandably have not pursued players, and will then seek to give the impression that we're OK with what we have. That's a media manipulation that I do buy into, and agree with.
-
Absolutely. There is a perception that because we don't sign a player that we fans have been let down/been lied to/the club is shifting position etc. Buying players ain't like buying a mop on amazon. It's highly possible that we've been unable to get deals over the line for whatever reasons and are stating publicly that we're happy with what we have...any other message makes us a hostage to fortune if we go into the market.

The all new relegation priced thread 2019 (it gets earlier every year!).

I think they'll struggle too. A bottom half finish is available at 4/1 which I think is a sound bet. I'll have a few quid on that. Bottom 6 is a bit unlikely though, but a small bet at 50's is tempting. -
Shame you're being sarcastic, as that was almost sensible.
-
That differs from info I received earlier in the week from a reliable and knowledgeable source. That said, moving him on would be nuts imo so I hope that you're information is correct.
-
You make a good point, but personally I'd love to say some of the traditional big clubs back in the top flight. They'll bring proper crowds, and give us brilliant away days. I'd take Leeds and West Brom over Bournemouth and Norwich all day long. Throw in a Sheffield Wednesday or Forest through the play offs in place of Watford or Burnley for good measure.
-
Impossible to answer really, but Matt in the modern era, super fit with proper nutrition, would have been an even better player I reckon. I never saw Ron Davies play so can't comment on him.
-
The name wasn't known, just an arsenal player.
-
Seemingly there's something in this. Club want as much of their money back. Someone (no name given) from Arsenal to come in.

Wise and true words.

Your responses are narrow minded and selective. I don't accept that Solemani was a terrorist - he was a senior figure in a sovereign regime. Sure, he did things as part of his role in that regime which were deplorable, but that doesn't make him a terrorist. If he was, its not for Trump to meddle in other countries affairs. I refer to Trump, and the leaders of Israel and Saudi Arabia, as they are also senior figures of a sovereign regime. Like Solemani they have all done deplorable things to innocent people (gunning down protesters, air raids, taking out convoys, the list goes on). Your blinkered stance means that you can't / won't recognise that which says more about you than about me.
-
Did you not see the Adams speculation? If you're referring to peoples comments about that proposed move, I don't see your issue. Selling / loaning one of only a few strikers is bound to attract opinion. This is a transfer window thread where transfer related matters will be discussed.
-
There's no debating this matter with you. You're convinced that Solemani was a terrorist and swallow whole everything you read to justify his murder. In doing so you fail to recognise the irony of your support for Trump killing a senior figure on foreign land for political gain, and the actions of the American supported Israeli and Saudi regimes and its treatment of Palestinians, Yemenis, and its own people.
-
Soggy has made a point re your twitter screen shots. They're irritating and pointless - all you're doing is posting someone else's opinions from social media. There are all sorts of differing opinions/propaganda in the media/social, and referring to someone else's personal opinion doesn't make your opinion the correct one.
-
Yes, I'm serious. You know I'm not comparing Raab to Solemani as a character. Focus on the principle if you can. This was the killing of a senior figure of a sovereign regime on foreign soil. The USA are not the worldwide police force. Should the Americans also take out the murderous leaders of Saudi Arabia and Israel, or does their conduct not matter as they support the USA economy? If they're off target, explain why there can legitimately be one rule for Iran and another rule for American allies.
-
Nuts if true. Obefami is not ready to be back up yet, and is injury prone. Adams is our best back up and to move him on is madness.
-
The actions of the Iranian regime are appalling, but it doesn't alter the fact that the Iranians would have not needed to react to the American action if they had not taken that action. The murdering of Solemani and the rest of the convoy is no different than, say the USA, killing Dominic Raab or another senior British political or military leader as he was driven away from, say an airport on foreign soil. No difference whatsoever. It was an outrageous act that has been followed by outrageous acts. Both sides are guilty. In terms of shooting protesters with live ammunition, if you condemn what the Iranians are doing, take a look at what Israel do in Gaza and the West Bank on a daily basis with their American supplied weapons and ammunition.

Great Post in many respects. There's too much negativity and naivety from many posters, and a belief that if we don't get transfers over the line then promises (!) are somehow being broken and/or the club and it's senior staff are incompetent.
