You previously felt they'd run out of resources. They haven't. Let's just assume you're wrong and they won't run out of resources (I have no idea if they will, but my suspicion is that they won't - India etc will carry on buying their oil), how does it end militarily? Russia won't concede, so do the west carry on (and up) the support to help a Ukrainian victory, or something else? I'm genuinely interested to understand how people feel that this can realistically end on the battlefield.
-
Jesus. Context and all that.
-
The latter is a smaller Cyprus solution as I mentioned above. If that's not a negotiated settlement, what is it? If you agree with me and SoG, wtf is your point?
-
There's always an end. Everyone wants a Ukraine victory, and Putin's downfall, I'm not sure anyone sees that as likely on the battlefield, and if the west won't risk a Russia victory, and nobody wants WW3. There ain't any option but settlement but I'm all ears to other alternatives that I'm missing.
-
What about his main point...how does this end if not by negotiation? All the nonsense up there basically points to a war of attrition or WW3.
-
What happened in other conflicts is irrelevant. This will end in a negotiated settlement. If we get Trump, he fucks over Ukraine. That leaves Europe to tackle Russia alone, or back down. That ain't happening, but Ukraine ain't winning this, and the West won't sponsor this forever. . I've yet to hear anyone say how they see Ukraine winning this, or that they feel Russia will (or be allowed to). It'll compromise in a smaller Cyprus way. Only other comment is that curmudgeon is underused.
-
Agreed re the latter, although it's clear that many don't see that. Re the former, a mod resorting to personal nonsense on a forum that already has far too much of that isn't helpful imo.
-
You write as if it's just Russians being led to believe a particular version of reality. Sure, they're lied to, but don't kid yourself that we're told the truth. Poor form seeing a mod resorting to insults btw.

People with acute mh issues can do awful things spontaneously and with planning. His head may have told that it was ok to do this. Hard for us to comprehend I know, but sadly it happens.
-
Yep. We have literally no alternative at the moment as well.
-
Yep. Decent standards are expected of the police, and that officers conduct was appalling and that incident is rightly getting al the coverage ot deserves. The army officer incident was horrific, but altogether different.

We need a reliable number 2 who he's willing to play, and if he didn't trust Lumley to play him when it mattered last season, he ain't going to trust him in the PL. I reckon we've got a keeper coming for that reason, and because he knows that McCarthy ain't the answer.
-
No idea mate, but if he doesn't get a PL move it'll be interesting. There aren't many rumours.
-
Nah Del, we wouldn't do that to you!!😉😂
-
He sought of did, but he must surely know that we need better. Ramsdale would be a phenomenal signing, and will gain us points for sure.
-
I never thought he had may options. If he won't renew, it'll be interesting to see if the club let him run down his deal, or try to punt him to the highest bidder abroad. If he stays, I wonder if we'll play him higher up to accommodate him and Suga.

73 now. 100+ incoming I reckon.
-
That's very sad to hear. He was a class act, and was one of the first players I was awe struck by. Hopefully he can recover from this 🤞🙏

The only appeal I can see is that she's less reprehensible than many of the others.

No come on about it. SoG can be a dick. I've been more than irritated by him on occasions, but some of the people labelling him all sorts are living in glass houses but throwing stones. Laughing emojis on links to kids being killed FFS - pathetic behaviour from apparent adults. Telling him that he mustn't link stuff if he doesn't comment is properly arrogant. If people disagree with the article linked, then people can comment about it, but nobody has to explain something that's self explanatory to someone with half a brain. People are getting personal with a stranger on a forum, and those making every thread about SoG are dragging the the forum down much further than SoG is. SoG ain't ruining this forum. Others are.
-
The attitudes and feelings of several posters who attack SoG is clear and obvious (I don't include you in that fwiw). The hypocrisy is staggering.
-
We'd all have wanted that SoG, but it's not happening after Suga signed.
