I've been to several as a chaperone and they've all been face to face, but I suspect that's not always the case. They don't go easy on people in my experience, and don't roll over when challenged. The number of successful claims does surprise me.

Yep, it needs looking at, but properly. What irritates me is people getting PiP based on a points system, but to meet one aspect of independence. If that, for example, is to get to/from work but they cease to work (or need to pay to get there) then the PiP should go irrespective of whether they've got the points. The points test is quite a tough threshold though, so I'm staggered so many people get it.

Where we agree is re need, not timing. The climb down just highlights their lack of authority, but doing nothing is better than a half cocked 2 tier system which was a daft compromise.

Always a great festival though, whoever is playing. You can have a great time without going near the main stage or the big top. Some of my best days there have been spent in and out of The River Stage, Cirque de Quirk, Electro Love, Hipshaker, the music bars, etc. Brilliant festival.

The owner isn't shite, but the people he has hired have been. He's clearly committed to to the club, and has put the cash in. He hasn't run down the academy, made mass redundancies, pissed off the football world, said outrageous things, failed to pay wages, etc. He's done nothing that shit owners so.

It doesn't tick any box on a proper interpretation. It also doesn't tick any box under the public order act. The proposed victims, as Benji highlights, are an institution, and in a foreign jurisdiction. As stupid as his rant was, it's hard to see which crime box it ticks. Like you say, there may be a liberal interpretation of the law though to prove the PM's point.

Scrap the green push and I'm all for that. Whatever labour do or don't do, they need to pick the left, right or middle lane, and stop doing an unpopular version of populism.

I personally have no issue in principle with us carrying ID cards if the the rules on inspection meant that we don't have to show our papers on demand, and they can be shown in a way which helps single out and dealt with people in the kind of scenarios you mention. Used properly, they could be a benefit, and not impact the masses.

The incitement was specific against the IDF and not targeted against British Jews. Sure, some dinlo's could target British Jews on the back of it. The chants were stupid, but I don't see that anything will come of it.
