  1. Like revoked. It was for the pre edited version.
  2. Yep!! I think that's the first on here that'll get universal support.
  3. Yep. It's daft regardless of who proposed it. That it's labour is surprising and disappointing.
  4. You agreed with a comment that someone was calling for change to help criminal lawyers. My point is that this doesn't help criminal lawyers.
  5. Its where the investment goes. On one hand there's the judges to service the work. On the other there's the lawyers and the budget. I can say with certainty that there isn't a pool of either, and nobody wants to do legal aid crime. KC's are paid less than trainee solicitors in high street firms. Just chucking more money at the legal aid budget but at current rates won't get the work serviced.
  6. Good. I saw the whining from someone in the media. We're in a world of expectation, rather than needs, and any form of welfare should be more about the latter.
  7. ? Where's the suggestion that criminal legal aid rates will increase? Without that, an increase of cases means more criminal legal aid lawyers are expected to work for terrible rates. I'm missing your point.
  8. Criminal legal aid rates are shocking, despite the review. Counsel and Solicitors don't want to do the work, and understandably so. We'll eventually move to an employed public defender model is imagine, but under the current system more cases will mean more adjournments due to unrepresented defendants, and a lack of prosecutors.

  10. Aye. I was guilty! Contempt before investigation for sure. Fair play to the lad.
  11. Yep. Decent players who were poorly coached and managed. Not sure what this new lad is saying or doing, but I like it.
  12. Yep. His height and pace is great. Everything else isn't.
  13. I think it's a bit of both. It's a pace and height decision.
  14. Different issues entirely. Whatever Trial system we have, our sentencing approach needs overhaul.
  15. Ha! The correct solution imo is to have a complete rethink of our sentence structure, and invest heavily into a rehabilitative justice system. Prison is of course necessary, but rarely helps rehabilitate and prevent repeat offending.
  16. I'm not sure how. There's an abundance of jurors out there, and removing them from the equation still leaves a trial, which still requires a judge, a court room, an usher, prosecution and defence counsel, etc. There isn't that court space, those Judges or the budget in the system. I also doubt sufficient underpaid legal aid defence lawyers would be available, ditto prosecutors. That's all aside from stripping away the right to elect a jury trial in many cases, which is a massive part of our legal system. Terrible decision for me.

  18. Yep, I do the same with a couple of posters. Nice to not to have to see all the nonsense they post, unless I choose to for the reasons you mention. I don't see it as an ignore function as such, more that the default position is that it hides a person's posts I'm not sure why people can't grasp how people can and do use it.

I've seen that claim. The US position is that the plan is theirs and was drawn by them. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c33mv4y2187t?post=asset%3A1597c28d-6c60-4bd1-b015-6e596e4ee5f7#post

Completely different points. Rubio has made it clear that this batshit plan is a US plan. Trump has given Ukraine a deadline to accept that plan. It is unlikely that the US will continue to support Ukraine if it refuses its plan. Progress from here is almost impossible imo. If the US succumb to Western common sense, it'd have to counter its own proposal. Russia plainly have high expectations, and Trump has met those expectations with this plan. Trump has driven a coach and horses through any realistic prospect of a sensible resolution, and will likely leave any ongoing support to Europe and the rest of the world. This plan is clearly designed to be on off ramp for the US one way or the other - either Ukraine fold (they won't) or the US walk citing what they'll claim to be Ukrainian unreasonableness.

My folks encouraged me to cook also, and that certainly helped. Bread is tough and I don't eat much of it, but when I succumb, and need convenience it's crosta and mollica wraps which have only basic ingredients and taste great. Jason bread products are similar. Any other bread tips are appreciated.

I'm similar. That's about half a tub. I often take the other half to the office, and fill the rest of the pot with colourful stuff, nuts, etc. Takes literally seconds and is infinitely better, and cheaper, than a sandwich from the co-op. On that, when and why did a crap sandwich, crisps, sugary snack, and a tin of pop become the standard lunch. Just awful.
