The issue for me is that he drops so deep. At times he dropped into midfield and actually disrupted us. One time he tried to sweep the ball wide left and undercooked it giving the ball away. He wasn't helped by us being overrun in the middle though, everyone dropping deep, and a lack of service.

Positives. Defence was decent. Saka was superb first half. Bellingham ditto. Rice was carrying TAA for me, but became scrappy. Pickford dealt with everything. We didn't concede. We won.
-
Yep. Palmer should be there for me, on merit and form. Arguable case for Gordon though.
-
Yep. It's about an 11 year old girl. Just wrong.
-
Apart from putting a goal on a plate for Kane. He's had to defend mostly to be fair.
-
Good point. Southgate takes 2 others over him but doesn't bring either on when Foden is struggling. Odd.
-
When did Kane convert to being a shit midfielder?
-
Not a bad shout.
-
He's been average at best. Palmer should be on for him.
-
TAA would have needed to have been in position to have done that. You'll have noted that he wasn't on for the pass either.
-
Yep. Positionally he's been appalling. Play a midfielder in midfield. Not complicated you'd have thought. They've absolutely controlled the midfield, and the game for ages.
-
Feck, we're terrible. Completely overrun in the middle, dropping deep, no ability to stretch the play.
-
A modern day Joe Cole. Good player when played right. He's not a left winger for me.
-
I'd drop Bellingham in alongside Rice, TAA off and Cole on down the left. Foden in behind Kane.
-
He's having to do the work of two in there. TAA is mostly great when on the ball, but doesn't seem to be where a defensive midfielder needs to be. Rice doing brilliant.
-
Who's pass was that from the edge of our box to Saka after that break from them? Superb.
-
No rush to defend, however, you seem to be in a rush to try to drag his views down but you can't see the irony of doing so. Your focus is him, not the issues and it's tedious as fuck to be honest.
-
You idolised Maggie Thatcher. If SoG is throwing stones from a greenhouse, you're doing it from a fricking massive conservatory.
-
Absolutely. In this modern world it's important to let the birds have a say so I'd like to know the snapdragons opinion too.
-
Absolutely. Everyone knows it's footy.
-
I think we'll see him as a wing back. Regardless, he'll be a decent option off the bench, and for cover generally.
-
It's pretty obvious. They're desperate slogans. May wasn't a winner in any way, Brexit has hardly showered us in milk and honey, and Rishi and his mates have cranked taxes themselves. Your post wasn't exactly a gotcha.
-
He won't play left wing. He'll be part of a midfield 3 I'd imagine, and I'm not sure he'd offer any less defensively than Stu Armstrong did.

Fair point. Looking at it this morning, some of those knight and dame hoods are handed out like toffee apples at a fun fair, and then you get Simon Le Bon and a backing singer from Boney M getting an MBE 40 and 50 years respectively after they were making it big. On reflection, Bates probably deserves his gong.
