Delap screams of Broja just without the Eredivisie year. I can't see us spending £20m+ on a 6'7 striker with our current system, for sure.

I do wish other players had the same level of commitment/effort that he's shown us. Was it Everton last year where he chased down a ball in the last 30 seconds and turned round to hype up the crowd? A player I'll always look back on fondly, but obviously also glad that his 60k~ a week is off the books.

I'd be... content with adding Delap as our Broja replacement and having the front three of Che/Armstrong/Delap. I think we then absolutely need to add one quick winger, preferably one capable of playing up top (similar to Redmond, just... better). I'd be very disappointed/surprised with any less than two attacking signings, and would definitely feel much more comfortable with 3 if we end up losing Long/Djenepo etc, even though they had limited minutes. I feel like it has to be one of Armstrong/Elyounoussi AND a quicker, direct player as our two players behind the striker. We look absolutely terrible with both of them starting together. I am happy with how things are shaping up early on, but I am extremely worried about how much work needs to be done with that front four. I think Che/Stu are our only attackers of a good quality.

He could be absolutely garbage but he'd still be getting around £1.3m over a presumed 4 year contract regardless of how his career goes. It's a tough one because there is certainly more of a pathway into the team here but I can see why he'd do it.

We absolutely needed another player who can play DM, as the amount of times we had to drop Stu there last season was silly. I see our options as JWP/Diallo and Romeu/Lavia at this point. I really wanted us to sign somebody to push Romeu and based on the City reaction to the deal, they seem to believe that's pretty likely.

I agree with you, and a quick check to their forum thought the same thing. Brownhill wouldn't be a bad 4th choice CM I don't think, but is that really what we want? If it's cheap and we're accepting Romeu as first choice, then I guess it wouldn't be the worst.

He'll be a good signing for West Ham, especially at that price. I get the feeling he wouldn't be desperate to come back here, and I'm not overly devastated if he goes elsewhere.

There's not a chance we'd spend a fee on the guy to be back-up until Tino was back, and then be 4th choice. I imagine it's a loan or nothing for us, and this rumour is probably being used to speed up Fulham/Forest into spending £15m+.

I imagine there's a lot of add-ons in there, be interesting to see if the initial outlay is £10m+ as well.

There's no use in a player who wouldn't spend any time playing, regardless of some Fergie quotes from 10 years ago or not. I'd much prefer either of the Burnley CBs on a free if we're looking for an experienced player in that route. Tarkowski may be less achievable but Ben Mee perhaps not so much.

Don’t rate Bednarek whatsoever. Can do certain things reasonably well but gets exposed pretty easily. Anywhere between £10-£20m and I’d like to think we could upgrade pretty easily.
