  1. Fair point. Although I would argue that we had too many nippers in the team for a lot of the year - we often had 4 or 5 inexperienced youngsters starting.
  2. Good skills - it's only taken you 4 days to come up with that one. I bow down to your supreme intellect...
  3. I think the problem is that the investment in youth needs to be a multi year strategy with a small number of players being added to the squad each year. The problem last year was that we took a short term high risk approach filling the squad out with a lot of youngsters which was highly unlikely to work.
  4. Nice attempt at trolling - not very subtle though. Cant believe you actually caught someone when you went fishing with KWP/Bree as bait! I think you need to try a bit harder.
  5. For me much depends on who plays in front of him - if we somehow sign a couple of decent centre backs he'll be less of a gamble than if we persist with what we have a CB. A combination of Bazunu and centre backs who switch off is asking for trouble.
  6. I'm not sure articles on football insider are going to unsettle anyone - in the main it's a load of speculative tosh. Undoubtedly there will be some speculation based on inside info, but that will be the result of conversations with Lavia's agent, which would genuinely be unsettling.
  7. Really?? 21 premier league games without a goal or assist - not exactly what I'd want replace JWP
  8. He got massively carried away with all the attention he was getting - I was fine with him talking on behalf of the saints trust, it was as soon as he started talking on behalf of the fans that I took exception to him.
  9. Let's also not forget him assuming the role of "voice of the fans" and talking utter bollocks on our behalf back in the lowe era...
  10. That's his job.... If he sorts the shambles out then he's done what's expected of him, if not.... Unfortunately football tends not to work like the rest of the world... Managers seem to bare the brunt of bad decision making above them.
  11. McCarthy shouldn't have been anywhere near our first team for most of his time here, but despite major flaws has played far more games than he should have done. If only we'd have gotten rid and kept Forster this season may have turned out slightly different... (although baz would have had to be dropped too) - I'm not saying Forster is great just better than McCarthy and Baz. Fingers crossed we get rid of McCarthy this summer
  12. Doesn't look too bad a squad - seriously? Janny B, Djenepo, McCarthy, Aribo and Lyanco have all the attributes to be just as shit in the championship. Difficult to say whether Larios and Tall Paul will be good, bad or meh. Bazunu may come good eventually, but I'm not sure it will be for a few years yet. That squad is so light on quality we will need a significant number of new players especially to play possession football.
  13. I seriously hope there is someone with a lot of experience who will join his backroom team. At the moment we have a young manager, young squad (unless we buck the trend and bring in some experience), an inexperienced DoF and an interfering lunatic overseeing it all. What could possibly go wrong???
  14. I'm happy to give Martin the benefit of the doubt, but we now have a relatively inexperienced manager who hasn't achieved much in football yet, working for a DoF who has never been a DoF, who is working for Ankerson who has already shown to be inept. Seems like a very brave move. When everything gets a bit tricky there's no experience to fall back on so fingers crossed it all goes well from day one.
  15. My point was all those mentioned had achieved more than Russell Martin. It's a bizarre gamble at a time where I'm not sure we can afford the risk.
  16. David Jones - promoted Stockport, Ian branfoot - promoted reading, lawrie - won the fourth division with Grimsby Russell Martin - achieved the square root of fuck all Not sure what point you are making?
  17. If this is remotely true I'm not sure what wankerson is seeing in his magic stats, but if we're after someone who has lost more than he's won (yes I know there is one game in it) then we must be desperate for mediocrity. Another "trying to be clever" appointment - looks like wankerson has learned nothing.
  18. I was old enough to know better last time round
  19. I can't believe how little I care about our relegation; we've dropped from a league where in the absolute best case we might be able to finish 7th or 8th and we'll never be able to compete financially with the big boys. Last time I was gutted, this time I couldn't give a shit. Roll on next year's rebuild and hopefully a season with more wins than losses.
  20. Adam Armstrong.... Goals goals goals
  21. McCarthy is such a turd of a keeper, might as well replace him with a traffic cone. We are so utterly shit and deserving of relegation. Forest are content letting us have the ball knowing full well that we'll mess something up and gift them the game. Ive never disliked a saints side more.
  22. This hopefully is a unique opportunity for a major clear out of the dross we've kept for too long: McCarthy, Bednarek, Stephens, lyanco, moi, djenepo, A Armstrong, Walcott can all go as far as I'm concerned. I can't see us keeping ABK, KWP, Salisu, JWP, Lavia and by the sounds of it Perraud. Hopefully we'll be able to keep che, Livramento and Alcarez. In which case the first team is going to be a bit threadbare: Bazunu; Livramento, 2 * New CBs, Larios; Smallbone, New CM; Sulemana, Alcarez, Edozie; Che. With the likes of Ballard and Doyle coming through, I fully expect us to neglect a striker unless Che goes. Should be interesting...
  23. I think you could keep McCarthy or Bazunu in goal, bednarek and lyanco at the back and Armstrong up front - better to have proven failures in position to guarantee the result 😉
  24. I think I'd pu lt Jones, wigley, gray and Pellegrino ahead of him in the shortest category. Arguably branfoot too
