Saints near the bottom for players signed, any cause to panic?
Dalek2003 replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
The key to predicting our season is to decide which was our typical form. If it was the early part of last season, we are stuffed. The middle part and we could finish top 10. The latter part, when we struggled to score and beat some pretty mediocre teams, then we will struggle. Again, we have not been decisive in the transfer market and like last year have failed to deal with known weaknesses. IMO if we fail to get a top rated striker, we will be relegated. -
Saints near the bottom for players signed, any cause to panic?

Yes, but I am now trying to tow the line and to be fair I am doing my best to fit in and ride a wave of optimism, so 5th it is ! -
Preposterous prediction, he should be falling in line and see us at least in the top 10.
-
Just to keep up the positive agenda, a top 6 is highly achievable with the squad we have assembled and that is without any further additions.
-
I think they will hold their own this season.
-
But I thought our transfers would be sorted by 1st July ? I think what we have is pretty much what we will start with. Maybe a few panic buys in January in the unlikely event,( so that I tow the line), that we are struggling in the relegation zone.

Saints Web is the best, although it does seem to favour the consensus over the minority opinion tbh. Thank goodness to those posters like Glasgow and Alpine who are brave enough and also have the integrity to say what they believe.
-
Little chance at all of relegation at all if I am to be part of the consensus.
-
No, I've now fallen in line.
-
Whoever made such an assertion needs to step in line and stop such negative posting.
-
Not wanting to be the odd one out, I would say we are making sure that Damiao is waiting for us to agree his terms, but he must be sweating on it, hoping we don't get fed up.
-
Not wanting to offend anyone, so why are we not at least mentioned as a possible top 6 signing ? Once again I think there is bias towards the big clubs who have spent more money on transfers than us. We will of course come charging up on the rails and shake up the league.
-
Again, as part of the policy of falling in line, I am sure you are right.
-
OK. Just to fall in line , here we go. I think we have a great squad. We should have a solid season and will most probably finish in the top 10. We are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with. I am sure we will make a few more key signings in the £20 million mark.

That's exactly my thoughts.

The interest in Norwich is understandable. A similar sized club to Saints with a similar recent history. Both clubs provincial with a loyal but similar size fan base. Both clubs are well matched. What is intriguing is the different approach of the two clubs to the transfer market. I think Norwich will be solid mid table next season, Saints to struggle around the relegation zone.
-
That is my opnion. I think we will struggle to avoid relegation.
-
Equally, how many points were we clear of 18th and relegation ?
-
Actually agree with this. Keep it up.

Glad you find it so entertaining CB FRY. Keep on posting yourself and one day someone might take you seriously and more to the point, you might allow someone to have another opinion, oh great one !
-
The argument that you use with anyone who has the audacity to have a different opinion to yourself.
-
Wait for CBFRY to accuse Sky of trolling, LOL !
-
17th, yep about right, fits in with my prediction, but I can see us finishing just below that as well.
-
I think the only troll here is yourself mate.

It would be ok if the other clubs had sat around all summer with their fingers in their noses. They strengthen so we have to strengthen.
