Patience, be patient. it was never to be this season ! FWIW we could finish much closer to 17th than anyone was prepared to give me credit for.

As I see it if Adkins keeps us up he has achieved the minimum and should keep his job as he builds for the future. You all know I predicted 17th and yes if we achieved that I would be happy and call for patience. 16th to 10th would indicate a good season and lots of encourgement for next. 9th to 7th I think we should have a party then prepare for next season with confidence. Play off whatever the outcome = massive celebrations. Top 2 = off the scale. In the meantime we must support the manager and team even if we fail to win another match this season !

If they were serious about promotion they should have got their fingers out in June and July and made some top class and decisive signings. We dithered and doddered al summer and in January we only got out act partially together. You cant achieve promotion on the cheap !

A voice of sanity in a sea of madness. At the very worst we will miss out on promotion. Read that again and think about it, we are in our first season of promotion. I would be happy at any sort of consolidation this year.

This has to be the most stupid thread I have read for a long while. Ditching NA before the end of the season is absurd. Even if we miss promotion he needs another year. We are building and need to push on, we have had enough of chopping and changing.

Good point. I suppose if we fail to go up Lambert and Lallana are the most likely targets. Then it would depend whether we strengthen ourselves. We didn't after the sale of Oxo so we probably wouldn't again. However, I am sure that the original plan was to consolidate this season and push on next. Didn't NC have a 5 year plan ?

Yes I did. I said that we may well start well but then we would gently slide down the table. I also said that although we would finish 17th we would NOT be in a relegation fight as it woud be a commfortable slide downwards.

If people asked Adkins to be sacked for finishing 7th they are loonies. As you said this would be a fantastic first season after promotion. Even if we finish lower mid table we have to support NA and hope things improve.

I think we have to be patient. I always felt this season would be about consolidation and that next season will be the one when we push for promotion.

I am not too despondent as I always felt we would slide down the league after a surprisingly good start and I am genuine and have always been in my prediction of 17th. Having said that, I am as puzzled as others as to why such a good team on paper is struggling. Is NA out of his depth ?
