  1. True, but the trend is downwards. We haven't got the strength in depth.
  2. As I predicted,a heavy defeat tonight and our slide down the table continues.
  3. We are not quite good enough for promotion this year. I think we will have to be a little more determined in the transfer market this summer if we are to go up.
  4. Our poor form continues, as I suggested we are from secure in our quest for promotion.
  5. I hope we get promoted as well. However, my interpretation of the stats in the last 8 suggest we won't. But, as you say that is my opinion.
  6. I would be happy if we were promoted and i had been proven wrong. If we are not promoted I would be happy if NC and the Liebherr's were already planning for a more realistic push for promotion in the coming season !
  7. Yes, as i said anything above 17th would be decent, but I doubt we will get promoted this season.
  8. I agree, one positive aspect is that Lambert has been rested. Another, is that we still have it at all, some rumours that he was off !
  9. Bar the Forest game and the Coventry cup game, i would suggest our last 8 games point to a more modest finish that a top 10 position. The recent poor from is fact.
  10. I have said before, that I think the club has a plan and they will not pay over-inflated prices for players. Therefore they are content to build slowly and if it means waiting another season two, so be it. I am sure the players are aware of the plan and are happy with it. I do not think they will desert the club if we fail to win promotion this year. Quite frankly, I worry about some supporters on this site slitting their wrists at the ned of the season if we fail to go up. I always felt this seaon was bout consolidation, 17th would have been decent anything above is a real achievement FFS !
  11. Very true. I think Cortese is happy to build the team gradually even if we inevitably miss out on promotion this season.
  12. If we had appointed Hoddle in 2004 and he was still our manager today (which is what your post says) i would assume that he had been successful and at the very least we would still be in the Premiership. As a premiership team with a 33rd year in the top league I am sure there would be other targets other than Hooper. Hope that answers your question.
  13. Wrong. I would love us to finish as champions. What I desire and hope for is very different to how I look at things objectively. So, to put it simply. I have the same high hopes as every saints fan, but I do not allow those hopes to cloud the facts.
  14. Yes, I totally agree. I don't think being promoted this year is our priority.
  15. In truth it was never really a starter. I told you so, just as I did in the summer. We are building the team over a period of time and in a sustainable way. I would say that we are aiming for promotion by 2014, but if we manage before then, we'll take it. What we won't do is bust the plan just to get there early. We are not doing a Wham!
  16. Sturrock had lost the dressing room. He would have soon been in trouble. His sacking was justified, what happened next was bizzare. There are a lot of unanswered questions about this period in our clubs history.
  17. Absolutely bang on. I would say that the race for promotion is wide open with a fair few teams in with a chance. A defeat to Leicester and we will be tumbling.
  18. Hmm, The last part of this post is simply a diversionary tactic on your part. Anyway, no hard feelings you are entitled to your opinion.
  19. You are entitled to your opinion.
  20. Yes you are entitled to your opinion and so is revolution. But once again the tone of your post suggests you are angry and defensive. Also, because a poster makes an insulting reply doesn't justify getting back at the same level. Learn to rise above it and you will find that your point of view has more force.
  21. You and the other small but vocal minority should take part of the blame because you put your own misguided feelings before the club. Hoddle, I am sure, would not have got us relegated at the very least. The sudden decision not to appoint Hoddle led to a chain of poor decisions and it started with the appointment of Sturrock.
  22. From the tome of your posts I would say that you were convinced something was going to happen. Therefore Revolution saint was right to pin you down. I would also suggests your insulting reply to him indicates that you don't like being proven wrong !
  23. End of the line ? It must have been a very short journey as we never got going !
  24. Top post. I have been saying the same thing since July.
