Excellent post. This was obvious in the summer. I think this season was all about consolidation and yes, our storming start may have taken everyone by surprise. However, NC wants to build the club on a sustainable basis and probably does not want to veer away from his strict structure even if it means waiting till next season for a push on promotion. This is what I have been saying since the summer and I am glad to see that more and more people are coming around to my way of thinking.

I said this a few weeks ago. Probably as a theory, it won't be accepted by most people but it is worth a though and FWIW I agree with you.

This is the key. We have fallen into the trap before of having a large bloated squad of very average players. One really good player is easily worth three good ones. Ricky is a classic example. The other thing is you can always sell on quality getting your money back whereas average players devalue quicker than a brand new car !

Sounds brilliant. It's funny these things can sometimes be a defining moment and JP could become one of Adkins most loyal players !

I am pleased about this. Who knows he could still be a big part of the season in a positive light. Now, I hope people really do forgive and let Jason have a fresh start, everyone deserves a new chance.

It doesn't sound like he has improved much over the last few seasons, just average. I expect in the summer we will look elsewhere.

It seems like the only vapour on this thread was the evidence supporting the claim tha Hooper was coming. Seems like some of our Scottish 'friends' were right despite all the abuse they got !

the 2003 was added after one of the Saintsforever reincarnations, I was just Dalek before that. I was a 'normal' poster until the 2004 debacle when I had some sort of 'overload to the system' Never really got over it as many rightly point out.

'Always look on the bright side of life' Having said that, I think your post is very accurate and I have made the comments you describe, more or less. The Glenn Hoddle issue is the one that will eventually come to fore and yes, the fans did play a part in scuppering his return and did destabilise the club in a very serious way. I don't think I will ever drop this issue and keep a constant watch out for 'revisionists !

A very interesting post. I suspect the first aim this season was consolidation and anything else a bonus. Can't see any more signings and this fits in with our modest but sustainalve summer outlay.

Yes, we could easily have lost by a higher score. Still, not back to winning ways yet and some very tough games ahead.

That is true and we will always be grateful to him, whatever his reasons. However, it was sad that we fell down to League 1 and of course we are still a long way from the Premier League. Hopefully, next season will be our year !
