I can just remember them days. I was plain old Dalek in those days. I becam Dalek 2003 after one of the many re-incarnations. I only really stepped up my postings after the debacle surrounding the non appointment of Hoddle in 2004. Still mad about it today, if the mouthy few had kept their mouths shut we would have been in our 33rd year of unbroken top league football i am sure.

I will sing as I self destruct !
-
There is no indication that Hooper is coming to Saints.
-
I will self destruct in the unlikely event that we will sing either !
-
So another day and I have not had to self destruct ! Said from day one we never sign Hooper.
-
Like this post !

I said a week ago I would self destruct if we signed Hooper. I feel even moreconfident that I will not have to initiate that sequence ! Anyway, we have at least got two players in, a bit of a gamble IMO

Biggest threat to promotion besides West Ham?

It's hot at the top ! -
your club has no chane of getting a celtic star player .
Dalek2003 replied to hooper88's topic in The Saints
I think Celtic are 'big fish in a small pond'. Having said that, I don't blame them for trying to get as much as possible for Hooper. I wish Saints would just get on with this signing but we are very indecisive and I think the opportunity is slipping away because we won't negotiate. -
Who is this week's mystery signing?
Dalek2003 replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
This was my conclusion in the summer and it remains so. I hope for the sake of the club that I am wrong. However, it would be a shame if we did not buy the players we need because the chances of promotion are not easy to come by and we will have to settle for mid table. -
LOL at Hooper88 what a deluded troll.

Nail on the head. Even if the Liebbher family are prudent with their investment we are stronger because we have their backing. This brings about stability and allows us to plan for the future in a sustainable way. We have a lot to be grateful to Markus and the family, whatever their intentions. I also believe that the family are honourable unlike some of these flash fly by nights. We have a great future ahead of us, although i don't think this year will be the one that sees us promoted.

The mystery signing will remain a mystery well into the summer months as I doubt we will sign anyone ! -
We might have got a win but it is a long season. We are well on course for 17th. You might think I am alone in my prediction, but I was brave enough to go it alone. You will see that I AM RIGHT AS i NORMALLY AM. 90% of posters on this forum are deluded.

I will self destruct if this actually happens.
-
Good post which puts things in perspective. Too early to say that we are out of the woods and we need to actually get some players in rather than just talking about it. Lee is a good start, but hope it is not the end as well.
-
Maybe NA and NC know that Hooper is out of our reach but by making a lot of noise about it and offering 4 or 5 million they can placate the fans by showing they were 'serious' but secretly sticking to the plan of actually spending very little.
-
I have said that since the summer, but what about being serious about promotion, do we need some signings to achieve this ?
-
Thanks for reminding me. I don't think Posh are a threat as we will gently slide down the table.
-
Looking at the table it is very tight. Boro are a strange team and I wonder about Hull coming up on the rails like Brum.
-
If we are really serious we will get him, even if we have to pay more !
-
Well, I said 3-0 but got it the wrong way round. We still need some players in if we are to push promotion. News on Guly ?

Reckon SFC1971 wrote this after a good night out and a few pints of Ringwood !

Yes, the January window is more difficult to operate in and often used for topping up. Your analysis only backs up my statement that we were complacent in the summer and not fully prepared for a promotion campaign. Furthermore, my opinion that we set out with modest expectations this season are confirmed. You, I am afraid, are 'barking up the wrong tree'.

We will lose by 3-0
