To some extent I agree. Had a small vocal minority that barracked the board refrained, and the silent majority got their way, Hoddle would have been re-appointed in 2004 and we would more than likely have kept our Premier status. Luggy was appointed instead and the club collapse was guaranteed.

Complacency personified.

For once, I don't know what to say.

gld you greed with me and looks like we were close to the truth.

The OP gives a very good summary. The decline began slowly and has only really started accelerating recently. It is not difficult to understand how people failed to see the subtle signs or trends developing. It is also understandable that those who did warn about the slow downward trend the club were following were dismissed out of hand. Who really wants to be woken up when the dream is so pleasant to be told that in fact the club is 'sleepwalking to relegation'? Finally, we are not finished yet, we might just escape. 17th?

I'm not going to say anything different from the last couple of seasons. Concentrate on the PL make sure we are secure and as high up the table as possible. We cannot be complacent or arrogant about our league status and it only takes a short time to fall into relegation fight. Sorry, to be so repetitive.

Now I would be interested in that. Apparently Hoddle was a great manager and the players wanted him back in 2004.

This stadium revamp / improved customer experience.

Clearly with Ipswich, Norwich and Hull having a revamp we have to keep up with future rivals. -
I was one of the few to see through the propaganda fog. My warnings were loud and clear, but ignored

Good chance to check out next years opposition.

I can't believe that people have not seen this coming. We were on a high 3years ago, but the whole club, owner, chairman, Les began to believe in their own arrogant hype. Complacency took over which led to penny pinching, dithering and indecisiveness. I could see this unfolding and clearly warned of it. No, this club has been sailing close to the wind for too long and now we are shipping water with torn sails and rigging. Better send the SOS, the Dalek was right !

Clear the deadwood, build again using money wisely, rise again. But never, never, take your top league status for granted.
-
I hope they don't give the VVD money to strengthen a squad led by MP, it will be a waste.
-
Complacency and arrogance have gradually led to this situation. There appears to be no attempt to do anything as we slip out of the league. I even think we will finish right at the foot of the table.
-
then they will 'sleepwalk to relegation'.
-
This situation has not happened overnight. The signs have been there and extreme arrogance and complacency have led to this sorry state of affairs! No need to deny it !

17th is a dream...we've had it !
-
As I have said many times. If we can keep our premier status, keep the cash coming n=in, make a profit...job done! Same as it ever was...
-
Still, financially we are succeeding and will continue to as long as we stay in the Premiership. Possibly the sum of our ambition.
-
From past experience 'sense of urgency' does not apply to Saints board and Les.

Yes, true, don't know why though. He has some good points to make but often loses his argument by going a little over the top. Still, he does bring colour to the forum and we don't want a bland site. Personally, I like a good 'difference of opinion'. Should avoid getting abusive though.

At least I talk sense

Agree, that CBFRY can get a bit tiresome.

A Norwich player?

Stoke lose...they are in trouble.
