You don't get points for having less possession either and that's the problem.

'The Three' - who should play there in our 4-2-3-1?

Gaston does run beyond and is a better finisher than Davis -

B for now -
Thanks DPS. You agree with me more than you like to admit ; )

Would rather be playing Puncheon over Lallana at the moment, he's much more likely to create and or score at the moment. One difficulty is dropping your Captain but we have to be doing what's right for the team.

Thats the type of chance we don't make too often but the same was true under Adkins. We don't have the squad to do much else but to keep the ball and and rely on percentages to create the chances. You talk about drastic changes above but we don't have a good enough back 4 or enough pace in attack to really change our system in way which would benefit us more.

What can Pochettino do about Rodriguez hitting most of his shots straight at the keeper or snatching at efforts? Or Lallan blasting over when in enough space to take a touch and show a bit of composure? Even Lambert has been guilty of this recently. Take chances like this and we would be walking away with 3 points to go with some impressive possession stats more often.

Hmm, not too sure. We certainly created enough yesterday to win the game. I wouldn't say being predictable was the problem, more that our strikers aren't taking chances which they simply should be taking.

Turkish has already cracked this funny this morning mate. You guys should ration your joke inventory a bit better

Is it easier to score? It's not as if we are not creating chances. If what you are saying were true, teams simply wouldn't aspire to keep the ball. In addition, if you looked at say 10 games where team A had 65% possession and team B had 35% possession, presumably you'd conclude that team B would have more wins than team A?

Noticed how yet again we dominated the ball with 60% possession against Norwich. I don't recall a game under Pochettino where we have come off worse possession wise, home and away. This is difficult to do at this level, especially away from home and not something to be over looked amongst the negativity which some posters seem to be enjoying at the moment. Pochettino is right in what he said yesterday, we are not clinical enough in front of goal. I'm sure it's as frustrating for him as it is for us but largely out of his control if players like Lambert, Lallana and Rodriguez are all spurning their chances as they are at the moment. I don't think we are far away from being a solid side, our finishing is letting us down and I hope we don't pay the ultimate price for this because we could have a very good season next year if we can continue to dominate he ball and maybe bring in a more clinical striker at this level.

Don't be a wet fanny Bazza, it's not as if he's Anthony Pulis is it?

No mayuka on the bench so no striker option. Let's hope Lambert doesn't have an off day.

Their league form was no better than under AVB so in the most part he didn't get them winning in relation to their usual standards over the last decade. Two very lucky wins in the champions league semi and final where they were completely out played glossed over this

We may well go down under him, but at this moment in time like for like comparisons don't really make sense considering how different the starting positions were.

I remember you mentioning this S-Clarke and it's logical based on the sequence of events when the loan became known.

Get off the internet for a bit lad. Life isn't lived through saints player training videos

We were already an established premier league club when Lowe took the reins. How can you use this as a comparison point when the circumstances when they both took over were completely different? We'd already been an established top flight side for 20+ years before Lowe took charge, he'll always be the one who was at the helm when that run ended. The whole argument is flawed as all anyone is doing is comparing apples with pears.

Guys, I am flattered by all the attention but ultimately all I did was post some emoticons to DPS which succintly sum up my thoughts on his OP (which DPS himself bumped despite it being from 2010) For the benefit of the forum, lets get this thread back to the original discussion. Is there a comparison to be made between Lowe and Cortese? They are certainly divisive individuals but in terms of approach and agenda, they are chalk and cheese really. I am happy with the clubs progress under Cortese, long may it continue.

Several people on here felt it neccessary to attribute a value to the loan as well as it suited their agenda at the time.

People enjoyed my suggestion to sell Ramirez in January back in November/December time. If you're going to criticise my posting history, look no further than your own "Role for Chaplow" thread for sources of stupidity. DPS enjoys the banter, he may act like he doesn't but he isn't a MLG wannabe square like you.

Lots of irony and anger in your post Charles.

Yes, but it's something for you to look forward to when you get home from work. It's a selection of my favourite ones.
