I mention Scunny as it's relevant to your opinion that Adkins was only successful with us due to the players he had available. Scunny had no right to be in the Championship given their size and resource but he got them there twice and managed to avoid relegation as well. Look where they are now....likely to drop into L2 which is about their real level. I personally find it laughable that you can be such a fierce critic of his tactics and player management on the back of what he achieved.

He didn't have a nucleus of ultra gifted players at Scunny and did very well with them. So well in fact that he managed to secure a job where he was trusted with the most valuable squad in the division and went on the secure back to back promotions at the first time of asking. Fair enough if you think he took us as far as he could but a little crude and uneccessary to try and dilute his achievements now.

Why would you say "yes" to something at the cost of the club which you have no desire to actually use?

If we miss out on Phil Neville, we should see if we can coax Graham Murty out of retirement instead.

Can't see us signing many lower league players this summer. Last player we nearly signed was Coutinho.....our bench has been set higher.

Boruc, Clyne, Yoshida, Davis and Rodriguez all very good signings, no questions there. Ramirez definitely class, needs a run of games with Lambert and Rodriguez but big competition from Lallana and Puncheon. Mayuka and Forren only question marks. An excellent first set of signings for the Premier League.
