Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition

According to reports Southampton have had a bid accepted for Burnley's Jay Rodriguez, although neither club have confirmed this. #SFC #BFC Ok, just another random twitter feed, but interesting I guess. -
Davis v Leeds, easily. Followed by Lambert v Millwall away.

If we do end up getting both, it would signal the start of an excellent transfer window IMO. I think it's pretty clear we're genuinely interested in Jarvis tbh and I'm pleased that we're looking at players of this level. -
Don't see the point in any drastic changes. There's not much wrong with how we play at the moment in terms of formation and tactics.
-
Good pictures MLG, that really shows what's changed.
-
John Ruddy is Norwich's first choice goal keeper, and has been a key part in the reason they've done so well in the Premier league. I think it kind of shows a bit of ignorance with a post like that.
-
A similar player to Huddelestone, has the potential to make a similar impact. Strong, classy on the ball, box to box and a nice range of passing. He'd thrive at this club IMO.

I'd be gutted if we signed Jones. -
Hart Johnson - Cahill - Terry - Cole Barry - Parker Chambo Lampard Young Carroll Why not plump for Oxo? Might as well throw him in...he's good enough and we don't have much else. I'd go with Lampard because he's played more, and in that position you're giving him the freedom that he has at Chelsea. That formation is kind of similar to Chelsea years ago. Duff on one side, Robben on the other, Drogba up top and Lampard in behind...and that worked wonders for him and his goal scoring tally.
-
About time too. I wonder if the scousers will have an annual day of mourning for this?
-
I don't think he's great, he's made to look better as he's got Nani/Rooney/Giggs around him - but he's a pretty average player in terms of his all-round game. He seems a decent finisher though when he gets an opportunity.
-
Stunned at Downing being called up, I think he's utter utter ****. As he's proven all year. His best game came against championship opposition, which I think tells you all you need to know. I hope he's barley used. Pleased for OX, good player. Not just pace but great technical ability and awareness. He's kind of a wild-card for us as not alot will know too much about him, so as long as we play him, we'll get positives results from this IMO. The midfield looks ploddy though, not much dynamism in there. I'd have not taken both Parker and Barry, both similar. I'd have gone with Carrick and Parker IMO.

They're not wasting their time are they.

I'd be pleased with Trotter, I think he's a good player. Very much in the mold of Huddelstone. -
Well this is a strange thread. Not sure what it's about.
-
lol @ people spreading rumours about Paul Konchesky being the backup LB...
-
That's what seems to be coming out at the mo via journos on twitter.
-
Phil Jagelka also rumored to be missing out. Carroll looks to be going, and so does Joe Cole...?
-
Shocked that Micah hasn't made it, esp. with Kyle Walker out..................who else have we got at RB other than Glen J? unless Neville is coming as player coach
-
Wouldn't surprise me, he had his best years under Roy at Fulham iirc.

[h=1]Euro 2012: Rio Ferdinand to be left out of England squad [/h] England manager Roy Hodgson is set to omit defender Rio Ferdinand from his squad for Euro 2012 while Kyle Walker misses out through injury. Ferdinand, 33, has not played for the national side since the 2-2 draw with Switzerland in June last year. Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson recently raised doubts about the centre-back's ability to play tournament football. Tottenham right-back Walker, 21, is absent with a toe injury. The Spurs defender, who won his two England caps in November last year, sustained the problem in the 2-0 victory over Fulham at the weekend. Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp had initially suggested that Walker's injury was minor and that he would be fit to link up with Hodgson's squad.
-
Forgot about Lescott! Yep, he should go. Always good to have ''winners'' in the squad, so Barry, Lescott and Adam Johnson for me too. I wouldn't be surprised to see a certain Scholes get a call though...
-
Would you choose Holt over Crouch or Carroll? I kind of feel sorry for Carroll as he's been made to look **** because of the transfer fee, but he still has some decent attributes which make him a threat. Just doesn't score anywhere near enough for me. I'd expect to see Walker go, and Richards for RB. Rio, Terry, Cahill and Jones for CB. LB will be Cole and Gibbs IMO. Would have loved to have been able to take Wiltshire for CM, as I think he's a class above. Not sure who else we really have in there who is 'young'. Oxo and Theo will go IMO, and Lennon possibly....
-
Has anyone got any specific preferences as to who they'd like to see called up? Apparently, according to some well placed twitter rumours, Woy has 'made his mark' with the 23 and there will be numerous surprises.
