  1. Exactly! But i just know the mindsets of people on this site, if WHU win all will be over.(!)!)
  2. It doesn't help that the echo are running a live 'chat' feed for this game. It's being built up too much! Everyone will end up deflated going into Saturday...
  3. Wouldn't suprise me if that's the case, their owners are hot heads to say the least. They want success and they want it now. and to be fair 15m spent in the championship should kind of equal at least a playoff place, if managed properlly.
  4. This. Or half as well as we did against the skates. We've played pretty well in our last 2 home games, but we've come unstuck due to outrageous finishing or breakaway goals.
  5. That's what I fear will happen. Everytime WHU have a big win it's all over.
  6. To be fair, if they were wearing a jester hat or a wig, then that's up to them. They still forked out **** loads to do a 600 mile round trip, whatever they wore they still showed up in decent numbers to be fair. Maybe not as many as we could have, but it was still a decent turn out in my books.
  7. I will watch the game and won't worry too much about it, in the worst case we're still 2 pts ahead with a game at home on the last day. Couldn't have asked for a better end.
  8. It won't be easy, as with all game in this league, but we really couldn't be asking for a better game. They've lost their captain and player of the season (he was sent off on saturday). Their midfielder, Sammy Clingan, is out injured for the season and Alex Nimley on loan from City is also injured. You couldn't ask for a better game, seriously. The gods must be looking after us!
  9. We will be promoted on Saturday, do not expect Leicester to do anything tonight - it will just lead to mass disappointment by 10pm tonight. The fact is that even if they win, we're 2 pts clear, with a better GD, and at home to a depleted and relegated Coventry city on the last day. Don't panic if WHU win tonight is all I'm trying to say.
  10. I don't think I'd be calm by just throwing away 1k, but each to their own!
  11. There were a couple of Boro injuries and a Boro sub if i remember right.
  12. I might be wrong on this, but I think Drinkwater got one for Barnsley (or he might have set one up...?) - where he was on loan at the time. A week later Leicester signed him permanently and he's now a fixture in their midfield.
  13. I think we're limping over the line as we're carrying quite a few knocks, and we're trying to get players through IMO. Lambert is one that has to be carrying a knock, and as you said, possibly Lallana too. I also don't think Fonte looks that comfortable at times, especially when he's turned - he seems to have lost a yard and a bit of strength. It's the culmination of a very grueling season - but thankfully on the whole we've been very consistent all year, which means that we are possibly able to afford this.
  14. Excellent review Chez, called it all spot on IMO.
  15. Reason we're on the brink of 2 successive promotions? The team. Fonte has been part of that team. Support him.
  16. Nope - fair point, they are hoping for alot to happen in order for them to finish 2nd - the fixtures have fallen very nicely for us it has to be said. This week will drag though, I just want to be there on Saturday to experience what is going to be a pretty big moment in our history.
  17. Don't get your hopes up for tomorrow....it will only lead to a horrible deflated feeling when WHU win comfortably, which I think they will. We will need to do the biz on Saturday.
  18. He does work hard, but he also contributes to our shape and we have a really flexible and dynamic system when he's in the team. When he's not we are very static and predictable.
  19. Don't think we will. If we won the league then maybe, but having an open top parade for coming 2nd is a little OTT. I don't think Cortese is the kind of guy to go for Open top bus parades either. Maybe when we win the champions league...
  20. - Your guess is as good as mine, it had all the pundits confused after listening back on TV too. Crazy decision. - Richardson is injured, and has been carrying a knock for a few weeks now (same with a few of our lads I fear). - He may have got his positioning slightly wrong in this one, it was a great free kick though to be fair. - Guly has done more than De Ridder and Puncheon this season, that's why.
  21. Just seen that Coventry city's CB - Keogh got sent off in the last game, so that's their player of the season out for our game. They only have a 16 year old kid that can replace him.
  22. It is a great effort and it will be a great achievement, but the players Pardew bought in L1 were with this in mind IMO....we kind of built for this level in L1, but still it's a wonderful achievement with what we're doing and Adkins has managed it superbly - but I still think Pardew should take a bit of credit in it. I find it mad that we have fans saying things like ''Sack davis and Fonte, not good enough'' - they quite clearly are, as they've shown all season long. We're a good team but we will need to add to it if we are to make a mark in the premiership, and I'm sure Adkins and Co know that - and I'd imagine work goes on right now identifying ambitious targets to match our ambitious chairman. Next Saturday will be magic and who'd have thought, 2 years ago we beat Southend at home on the last day to achieve 7th in L1 - 2 years on we need to beat Coventry at home to regain a place in the premier league. A remarkable rise and lots of people need to take credit for it. It's been a huge team effort.
  23. You're right fella.. Once we're there I doubt I'll give a damn, but you know once it's not quite done it's hard to shake off the nerves and disappointments of the last 3 Saturdays on the trot!
  24. I would take Curtis Davies in a heartbeat, or a defender of similar ilk. What I mean by that is a centre back who's nice on the ball and has a bit of pace. I don't think Dirk would give us what we need, which is pace and movement up top. He's a little too static, but he does work hard to be fair to him. What I'd look or though is pace through he heart of the team and down the flanks, we will not get anywhere next year if we have no pace on the flanks as we're way too predictable. Food and drink for top premiership teams. Hooper and Jay Rodriquez are linked with us as centre forwards, but I'm not sure they'll bring us the pace up top I think we need....Someone like victor moses in behind would be great, although maybe not too realistic.
