  1. That's how I see it, obviously not winning isn't the end of the world on Tuesday, but the pressure if we don't will be absolutely massive. No question about that. We then go into a live TV game, not a normal KO time, against a team looking to get into the playoffs - and we'd need to win by a couple of goals. That's why we really need to do the business on Tuesday so there isn't as much pressure going into the Boro game, there still will be pressure....but going into it on the back of a nice win is what we need.
  2. We have a winner.
  3. I'd stay to the end to be fair, but you couldn't blame them. Spurs season has gone down the ****ter quicker than I ever imagined. From being ''title contenders'' to ''Certain champions league finishers" they are now hanging to it by their finger tips. I'd be surprised if they manage it now. Bit of a cockup tbf.
  4. Let's hope it's as good as our last Tuesday night game, the perfect set of results. West Ham dropping points, Reading dropping points and us doing a clinical job on a very handy team at this level. Looking back at it though, after going 5 points clear of WHU and 7 points clear of Reading that night (with +14/15 on our GD) we really shouldn't have let them back into it as we have. Never mind, we'll still do the job.
  5. I do see where you are coming from in some ways, I'm the same - 2 days on and I'm still struggling to shake this one off - because the title which has been in our hands for so long, has slipped away at the last minute. Obviously promotion is the be all and end all, whatever happens - but I wanted to see us win a league, I wanted to see us lift a proper trophy in front of full St Mary's. We may still do it, but it's a tall order now as we need Reading to slip up a couple of times. But we'll dust ourselves down and we'll do the job at Peterborough, I'm sure of it. These guys have come so far in the last 12 months and after getting so close to achieving the unbelievable I can't see them letting it go lightly. Although we did defend poorly against Reading, they were clinical about it. I don't think we'll face another team as well organized and clinical as them again this year, which has to be a bonus. We played well and you could see the drive and determination in the players which needs to come to the fore in the next 3 games. The Hull result a few weeks ago looks a long way away now, but that was an epic Tuesday. Who's the say this Tuesday can't be the same.....?
  6. glory hunters . I've also noticed the same, people that never really noticed our results ''Oh, did saints lose again this weekend?'' are now fans who know the results without me having to tell them.
  7. It's so tight, scary stuff. We're in the middle of a 6 point sandwich. If we win our next 2 we take the title to the last day, where Reading play away at Birmingham. I don't think you can give up on anything yet, although the results and twists in the last 24 hours have increased my nerves more than any other weekend this season.
  8. If Bristol City do the business and beat West ham, whilst at the same time sending the skates down, then those 2 defeats to them this season don't look too bad after all!
  9. I just want to get it over with, I've had one of those dead days today and this is all I've been able to think about. From being quite relaxed about it all, the goal difference swing has turned me a little nervous...! As that advantage no longer exists.
  10. Nothing in them at all. Very hopeful.
  11. Similar happened after the Barnsley away game, all of a sudden they won 4-0 and were world beaters. I think it got to their heads too as they were caught off guard by Birmingham. I can't see all 3 winning in mid-week, one will slip up. I still wouldn't swap our fixtures for WHU's, I think they've got 3 horrible fixtures to get through - and get 3 wins from. Let's not forget that, nothing less than 3 wins is good enough for them, whereas we can drop a point or 2 and still do it. (not that I want us to drp any points)
  12. Reading are exactly the same. It's working well for them tbf.
  13. They'll also be putting out a makeshift defence as they're without Gabriel Zakuani, in the running for their player of the season I believe.
  14. If you thought we had it all tied up a few weeks ago, then more fool you. It was never going to be straight forward. There were going to be twists and turns and there still will be. and even after those twists and turns we sit in pole position for the prize. It will only be a screw up if we actually do fail, until then I have all faith in the management and the players to get us over the line. Perhaps you need to start having some faith.
  15. I watched the sky + recording earlier, some of our movement and passing was on par with us early in the season. It was one of those games which came at the wrong time of the season. Play like that as P'Boro, as people keep saying, we will win easily.
  16. Dear me. He's one of the best managers in English football in the last 2 seasons, comparable with Alex Ferguson and Mancini. Our success this season is as much down to him and his positive management as it is down to Rickies goals. I don't think he's bought poorly. Sharp is decent, proven at this level and will and has scored goals. Jack Cork is a classy player, no doubts about that. Jos is a fantatic buy. Fox is one of the best LB's in the league. Chaplow has been excellent for us. And the list goes on... I can't see Cortese sacking him whatever, he's bought into what we're trying to do here and is part of the long-term. No doubts about that.
  17. It's a good point, the first goal in this game was always crucial. Both us and Reading have gone on and won when we've scored first, so the early goal, against the run of play, set it up perfectly for them. It was an incredibly sloppy bit of play and it's something we've been doing a bit too much in recent weeks if I'm honest. The 3 goals against Blackpool were avoidable, the last goal against Pompey was avoidable if we didn't neglect to leave Norris free in the final minute. Cut the sloppiness out and we'll win all 3, we're playing well enough. That's the frustrating thing.
  18. This is what I alluded to above, people already expect us to walk it next year if we fail this year. Straight away the expectation is on us, we've done so well this year because it wasn't on us. Next season is a different kettle of fish if we're still here and trust me, it won't be as fun as this year.
  19. Easy to say that, but he wouldn't have put any of the chances away. We played well enough but weren't clinical enough, Morgan wouldn't have changed that. We do miss the composure he gives us though, I'll give you that, but I don't think he'd have made much of a difference to the game yesterday if Reading were intent on being that jammy.
  20. To be fair, the worst we'd finish is third so we'd be home in the 2nd leg. Not that we'll be in the playoffs!
  21. Great cross from one of their danger men. It was Fonte who misjudged it completely, and Fox who presented them with the opportunity in the first place. Blaming Davis for that goal is just pointless. Looking for problems where there aren't any.
  22. http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos/leeds-4-peterborough-1/ Rickie and Sharp will be drooling over that standard of defending.
  23. If Billy Paynter (Paynter FFS???) can score a brace against them, we surely have every chance.
  24. Because they've lost most weeks this year, due to them being badly managed at all levels. We'll be much more prepared when we go up. I remember PNE fans saying the same when they were fighting for promotion most seasons, but never quite making it. Eventually it all took it's toll and look where they sit now. Sod being gallant losers, let's get the job done because the premier league will push this club on even more.
  25. They're a very strange club, who have this idea that they're some sort of potential south coast mega team, when the reality is that they're tin pot.I don't think they'll be getting into the premier league any time soon.
