  1. All the football banter aside mate - hope all goes well in the hospital. Health is more important than anything else.
  2. They don't really play with out and out width, but they're quick through the middle. The 2 guys up front are very very pacy. I'd imagine we'll be up against Barnett and Taylor.
  3. IMO the Monday night football with Ed and Gary is better than anything Keys and Gray put together.
  4. Wigan have amassed 23 points from a possible 33, that's just immense. Winning at Liverpool, Arsenal, at home to Stoke and Man Utd... Their last 4 games include a home game against Wolves and an away game to Blackburn. They've somehow done it again haven't they?
  5. Our full backs are under rated in my opinion, they are a key cog in how we play. Richardson, although he's dipped in recent weeks due to injury, has been one of our best players this year. 13 odd assists says it all. Fox frustrates me because he has talent and is very nifty with the ball at his feet, who also has a wand of a left peg - but we don't see that consistently enough. Good enough though. We pobably need 2 new full backs to push these 2 on a bit more, but they'll probably be regulars next season no matter what league we're in.
  6. As long as we've done our job and they can't overtake us, it'll be pretty relaxing viewing.
  7. Delighted he's back, he makes a huge difference in terms of us controlling the game. People will say he doesn't offer enough attacking threat, but that's not what he's in the team to do. He's in the team to retain the ball and use it well, whilst also winning it and breaking up opposion attacks. He's the best midfielder we have at doing that.
  8. I think the WHU/Leicester game is a monday night TV game. As long as we beat Posh a draw at Boro is perfectly acceptable as we then go into the last day with it firmly ours to lose. I think that WHU game has fallen really nicley for us in many ways, if it was the other way round we could go into the Boro game out of the top 2 but now as long as we do the biz against Posh, we'll be fine.
  9. We won't be though tbf, what ever happens we take it to the last day. Even if we lose 2 and WHU win 2 then we need to win and Hull to beat them heavily for us to finish 2nd. Obviously that scenario is a nightmare scenario, but we'll be fighting until the last day.
  10. I think he's finally snapped.
  11. BBC sport digital spy is a good one football-forums.net here, obviously. netweather.tv youtube.com
  12. I don't think they are tbh? I think people are preparing for the worst in their glass half empty outlook. I'm not even contemplating the playoffs, don't worry about them.
  13. Good at Birmingham, but alot of that was down to his partnership with Roger Johnson. Takes those 2 apart and they look pretty average. Dann isn't a bad player though, he needs the right partner alongside him. Maybe we can reunite Dann and Johnson again when Blackburn and Wolves go down?
  14. Don't show this to Alpine.
  15. This. Although he offers a bit of a threat, our team looked so much more unballanced with him in the side. We controlled it much more and had a better shape with Chaplow in there - even though he didn't have his best game.
  16. I'd still say West Ham have their toughest week of the season, they know that they cannot slip up at all. They're away at a scrapping and decent Bristol City team, and then away to a very handy Lecister city team who seem to play better when the pressure is off for some reason. They still have to catch us, and although the pressure has increased on us somewhat, anyone below would swap with us going into this week.
  17. Would agree with that, at this stage with everyone fighting for something the table means zilch - it's who has the drive and motivation to get over the line. Sometimes a little bit of extra quality does the job, but quite often you find very little between teams at this stage of the season. That's why WHU away at Bristol City is going to be a very tricky task for them. If we win and they don't, it's curtains.
  18. Well they probably did, but West Ham's start was so fast that they were caught unawares and by the time they got a grip of it they were 3-0 down. They didn't throw the game, they were just **** in the first 10 mins and were outclassed by West Ham's out of the blocks start. Brighton are like quite a few teams in this league, always in with a small chance of getting a playoff place but when they get to the crunch they're never quite good enough.
  19. They'll probably be opening other sections of the ground I'd have thought. No idea how much Coventry have sold, but I'd expect them to give us more of the Northam.
  20. I'm not that bad yet! But it's a case of who blinks next....one of us will slip up in the next 3 games, but I don’t have the foggiest as to who that will be. As someone said on another thread things are so tight, that by this time on Wednesday morning we could be all but promoted, or we could be sat 3rd with a hell of a lot to do. (although I'd be very suprised if that's the case) Although the GD advantage has gone, there is still a slight advantage, so WHU still have to make it up (and so do Reading tbf) and I can see us putting a few past Coventry on the last day. I just have a feeling that we will be promoted live on sky, of all places, and that will once and for all put this sky ''hoodoo' myth to bed. Getting promoted at home is great, but the feeling of doing it away live on TV would be much greater - especially at Boro's ground.
  21. Nah, they're just crap, which is why any half decent team take them apart at home. As we did, as WHU did etc. They didn't look bothered because they knew the game was up inside 7 minuites.
  22. It would need a truly extraordinary set of results from them, and the teams above them (in terms of slipping up in every game). They're gone.
  23. A couple of people have spoken to him and apparently he isn't far away, wouldn't rule him out making an appearance at M'Boro
  24. As odd as it sounds, they were a stronger outfit when we played them last year at their place. CMS, Ryan Bennett, Zakuani (sp), Little, Tomlin - all part of the side that played us in the 4-4 game, they are either no longer there, injured or out of favour (none of them started their last game). They are replaced by youth team players and a couple of other players from L1. We're stronger, they're weaker. They have nothing to play for, and we have all the drive and motivation in the world (well we should have.)
  25. I wasn't even trying to contemplate that horror story! We'll do the business, I'm sure of it.
