  1. Simpson's representatives have been 'sounded' out by Chelsea, hence his contract refusal. It goes to show that even if you are on the cusp of CL football, you still can't keep your best players. Newcastle are also linked with Trippier of Burnley, so it would make sense if he's a replacement.
  2. I remember the fury it created on here before. In the end it meant very little, and it was just a case of a chairman wanting a bit of the limelight..! I don't think he'll ever do it again though. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?31704-Front-cover-of-tomorrows-program&highlight=programme (the image on that page has the wrong programme displaying though...)
  3. West Brom have an agreed first option on him though, he'll stay there.
  4. In a purely selfish way, I'd prefer Blackpool to go up as they will not be as strong as WHU in the PL.
  5. I think he's only just turned 28, surprising really as he looks much older. I think he'd be good in the premiership, a proper old fashioned winger.
  6. Surprised Doyle got a start in front of him.
  7. At a cut price too, I'd imagine.
  8. They carry the most threat out of any of the teams. Their wide men will cause anyone problems, and Dobbie is a clever player at this level and always seems to find space. Probably the toughest game WHU could get.
  9. If Brum lose this game it will probably ruin them. Surely their only chance of a financial reprieve is promotion this year? I can see them doing what we did/charlton/norwich etc and slipping down another league if they lose this. Not sure who they'd be able to dump Zigic off onto either....
  10. How bad does Zigic look by the way? He's 2 miles high in the sky, yet he never wins any headers. £6m worth of dross.
  11. lol @ the brum keeper.
  12. According to Alan Nixon on twitter, Burnley want in excess of 8m just for Jay Rod, so that deal is now dead.
  13. Didn't realise that Trippier was actually Burnley's player of the season, really rated up there. To be fair, we seem to like Burnley full backs.
  14. Alan Nixon ‏ @reluctantnicko Burnley making a move for a right back. That's odd. Alan Nixon ‏ @reluctantnicko @danbsfc Working on a Saints story. Can't go into too much detail yet.
  15. Burnley have turned down 2 bids from Premier League teams for Jay Rodriguez. One included Kieran Trippier and a player swap #twitterclarets
  16. In a double deal with Jay Rod. + a player... is/was the rumour.
  17. What planet are you living on mate? He's not a world class player. I swear you're on a windup.
  18. What pessimists? More realism than anything else.
  19. http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10335~2764347,00.html In other words ''We've listened to what you've had to say, and we respect the history, but we're changing the brand anyway"
  20. To be fair that was handy in L1 and the Champ as the coverage was so minimal, we'll be able to see 90' mins of every game we play next year. Whether it's on Sky's football first, Live on Sky/ESPN, or a live stream as there will be one for every game.
  21. FFS! What about the pitch???
  22. Congrats on your news..! I didn't go, but saw some pictures on twitter the next day....seemed quite a stylish event. Was it held at St Mary's in one of the lounges? Looked like it was all decked out.
  23. go for it!
  24. There was talk that came out of one of the 'Cortese Dinners' that indicated that we'd look to replace if we were promoted. Apparently we are under contract with the football league to use the website template we have at the moment, and the only way we'd be able to break that contract and go our own way was promotion. So I'd expect a new website in the near future....what with the new ticketing system, I'd imagine it will all be designed and integrated in some way.
  25. Over ambitious to say the least. Spurs can't afford him. He wouldn't even batter an eye lid at us if we ever did show interest.
