To be fair, he was put into a pretty difficult situation and the chairman never gave him a chance. He was plucked from local rivals Birmingham, so was already at a disadvantage. He was then asked to take control of an aging and degrading bunch of players, and he wasn't really given the scope to change much about. So Randy Lerner needs to have a look at himself too, and ask himself where is the club going? They can't keep selling Downing, Milner, Young etc...and not replace them, what do they expect will happen? They need to invest and rebuild that squad, but unless a new manager is given the scope to do it then he's in for a very tricky time.

I don't think we'll be too ruthless, sometimes I think you can be. Look at Pardew's second season with us for example. In that summer we released 14 or 15 players IIRC, our retained list didn't contain many retained players...put it that way. It took us a while to get going again after that, and we never really had the depth after that either. So, steady as she goes. The out of contract guys will go, but I'd be surprised to see players like Harding, Chaplow or Hammond let go. Butterfield also recently signed a new contract, so he will still be part of the plans here next year. As people keep saying, it's about evolution - not revolution. Too much change will make us very vulnerable. This team ethic we have at the moment is excellent, and I wouldn't want to see it ripped apart at the expense of some mega-premiership stars on $$$$$$. And as has been said, a team will get you more success than a collective of individuals.

I've always rated him tbh, I remember watching him at Villa and thinking he was a decent player. Didn't do too bad at Fulham either. Goal scoring midfielder, experienced in the premiership, 26 years old.....£2m. Deal.

for £2m, he'd be absolute quality. He's done it in the premiership with Fulham and Vila before, and he did a good job too. He's stuck out like a sore thumb in the SPL as he's clearly too good for that level. Would be a brilliant start to our business.

What do you look like when you find out your team has lost the title, in the final minute?

He doesn't need to go around doing what he does after that though. The guy is a nutcase, deserves no one sticking up for him. If he was set up, then he's let them win emphatically. -
Christ, sod that. I'm glad I could watch that as a neutral, but I wouldn't want to experience want those fans were going through on 88/89mins. I was happy to be celebrating by 60mins....! It shows how dangerous these 'poor' teams can be, and in context - albeit in a lower league, we dealt with Coventry brilliantly.
-
I think this one is dead.
-
You can be frustrated, but you don't have to go around wanting to beat everyone up. The guy is a nut case and needs help.
-
That was incredible. I've never seen anything like that in football. QPR deserve a huge amount of credit and they deserve to stay up on that, even though they lost in the end. A fantastic spectacle and it's exactly what football is all about. Those moments of commentary from Tyler will go down in history, epic.

Exactly!!!! so much is made of us not having 3pm KO's next year, but we barley had any this year. And I agree, i bet you we have the majority of our games @ 3pm next year.

jeez, there's some blasts from the past in here. Another one I remember http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtURoWuzfpE

That's the plan, the barcode readers have already been installed at the turnstiles. Season tickets will return to the 'credit card' format, and you'd just swipe them at the turnstile. They'll also allow you to benefit from 'points' from buying items in the store. Normal tickets will have a barcode as part of the stub. And I think almost all the PL are using electronic turnstile management, even a fair few in the leagues below (even charlton use it). So we're a bit late getting on board!

What a deluded idiot. Does he realise that money is just going to vanish? It would have been better to stick it on a bet.
-
Same argument. He's not ****, but it would cause more damage just changing someone when nothing is actually wrong. IMO.
-
Yes. I think Sven has proven he's a load of **** in the last few years. It would ruin what we've got here, if we have to change the manager eventually it needs to be done when the time is right. After 2 successive promotions under the current manager, the time certainly isn't right.

Christ sake, you can tell we have no football at the moment. If this is all we're going to get during the summer, then Mods - just shut the forum down until August. I'm not even going to bother giving the post credibility as we all know lard truly wants Adkins out anyway, as he lost the changing room years ago. apparently.

They're going down the QPR route then. That'll work well. -

Which is why I think we'll look abroad. Even Jay Rod is insanely priced as they want UPWARDS of £8m. That's crazy. Two of the current top Prem goal scorers cost less them him.( Ba/Cisse). -
Nice to see that the playoff's have brought out the MK Dons fans too. Packed...(!)
