oh for crying out loud. If you were critising a GK on their kicking ability last night, look no further than Federici. Good GK - but his distribution was mainly pants.
-
Well I can't get onto the online site...getting all sorts of weird and wonderful errors. The system has always struggled when hit with a big demand. It's like saintsweb of old.
-
The pompey away game was on TV.
-
That's a stupid thing to say, how are they coming into a rich vein of form exactly????? They've been **** for weeks.
-
A lot of people just want us to ''GET IT UP THERE'' - as was illustrated by a few around me last night, but ''GETTING IT UP THERE'' hasn't lead to our success this year. Paitent passing and working the angles for a cross has got us where we are, why fans panic so much and go back to the typical 'english' way of 'HIT AND HOPE' is beyond me. Have trust in the way we play because it will win you more than constant long balls.

arrggh can't get onto the online sales site. Can't wait for that to be upgraded, it really is pants.

Depends if we've beaten Posh and Boro before hand
-
He was great against Palace, but was a little poor in the first half last night. His touch was off and that swinging miss hit summed his half up! He was fired up though and he would have been sent off, that's why he was pulled. I'd still start him @ Posh.
-
He doesn't fit the team under adkins, and hasn't since day 1. He was brought back and played with a fair bit of effort - but that was it. I don't think he's an Adkins type of player, which is why he's been cast adrift since he's been manager tbh. I wouldn't be surprised if he's upset someone again either, whatever the case he's a wasted talent. He'll go elsewhere in the summer.
-
Puncheon does not fit the team here, for watever reason. Adkins has decided that. He's a funny one. Falque looked like a little boy lost on his debut, and I know it was only 45mins but there was a reason why he was hurled off at HT.

If they lose today then we can really start planning for the premier league, as it will be pretty much all over. As much as I'd love that to happen I can't see it because Brighton can't score, they create chances and keep the ball - but they can't seem to score enough. If WHU play like they did in the 2nd half against Brum they will pummel them it pains me to say.
-
I think it's a minority making the noise, but the majority of Saints fans are pretty reasoned in their opinions. At the end of the day, we have 3 games to go. And it's so in our hands. We don't have to sit here begging that WHU slip up today, nope, it would be a bonus if they do - but we'd still be well ahead of them. We're in a great position and although (Frustratingly) the title may have gone last night, automatic promotion looks odds on and that would be a remarkable achievement whatever you say.
-
Lots of good players in the lower leagues, write them off at your peril. Le Fondre is a goal scorer, and he will score at any level.
-
Is the last game on TV? Didn't know that. Thought all games kicked off @ the same time.
-
Lots of frustrating people around me who were intent on moaning about everything, including crap about us not being promoted now, and one gem that I'm suprised I forgot to mention yesterday. ''This season has been a total let down if i'm honest'' - WTF goes through these moron's minds? Why would you say something like that? That's why the atmosphere is crap, because it's filled up with a load of bloody wet fannies.
-
There you go again with a stupid response. You can't say something like that just because he's had a couple of iffy displays, he will be fine in the premiership and you will be made to look silly once again. FWIW I still think alot of our good play comes via him, he's the player that they're frightened off and you could see them back off him on numerous occasions, as TDD rightly pointed out his end product isn't quite there at the moment - whether it's a shot, or a pass. But his overall performances and drive are top notch, you cannot fault that. At the end of the day he has 12 goals from midfield this year, this is just one of those spells a player goes through - but we all know he does have the final product when he's really on his game.
-
They were well organized at the back, they kept a very good shape which made it hard for us to find the angles, but they also had some fantastic headers of the ball in that defense. Gorrks would have been a great signing for us! P'boro have lsot their best CB since we last played them (Ryann Bennett) so if we play anywhere near that level then it's fine. And a win there will almost finish the job.
-
I've woken up with the same feeling....as much as I think the title is gone, who saw Bristol City coming to our place and winning? If Reading think it's done and drop off a couple of % then they can get caught, albeit it's a very long shot.
-
This is exactly what a Leeds fan would have said in the wake of their defeat to us. We're good enough to go up, that's why we've been there all season and that's why we will finish up there. Let's all just calm down because it wasn't poor last night at all, the individual mistakes were, but the performance and energy was top notch. P'Boro will be pummeled if we play like that against their defence.
-
Reading won't wobble now, trust me. They have 2 home bankers to wrap up the title.
-
I have to say that is a load of rubbish. I've not been Sharp's biggest fan since he's been here, but I thought he was pretty good tonight. Put himself about well, linked up well with Lambert, made clever runs down the sides of the CB's. Oh, and got an assits for Lamberts goal - so he did create a goal for someone else. Maybe you need to watch it again. To get promotion we will have to play like that, but just cutting out the mistakes. We were terrific tonight, have a re-watch of the game to see for yourself. Agree with Butterfield though, thought he had a very decent game.
-
Not at this stage of the season, no way. These lads got us there and they will get us over the line. Believe.
-
away at a galvanized and playoff chasing Leicester too, IMO this is done and dusted as long as we beat P'boro as I cannot see us slipping up at home to Coventry, we will have way too much for them.
-
Bit premature, maybe. and a little bit harsh on Fonte, people are jumping on his back a bit tonight after his horror show but he's not a bad defender at all - he'd do a job up there, no worries. Fox is decent, but I have question marks over him up against top players. He seems to have lapses which will get punished time and time again in the premier league. The main priority for me is to sign a proper attacking midfielder, someone who can score loads of goals from midfield. They'd go onto the right side of the diamond. Our right side is so disjointed at the mo, Chaplow is the cloest player we have to making us 'tick' down that side. We do need another striker too, not sure it's out and out pace...but someone with guile and quality - who is young enough to improve. Someone like Jay Rodriquez would be excellent.
-
We will obviously sign a few players in the summer, whatever happens, but don't expect wholesale changes. People said that half of our team couldn't do it at this level after a defeat to Wallall in L1, but in truth - they're all perfectly adequate and many have done a great job and look fine at this level, the same will happen in the premier league if we get there. I'd expect Rickie to score, he's clearly good enough, Lallana will be a threat, Morgan and Cork will be an excellent partnership in the middle. The only question marks I have would be right midfield, depth at full back and potentially another striker. 3 or 4 top quality additions in the summer, as we did this year, will see us make a good account for ourselves if we get there.
