  1. Chaplow has talent, he hasn't just lost it in a few bad years at Preston. Give the guy a few months, some regular football in a nice settled environment, lots of wins, and we could probably have the best box to box midfielder in the league. I still believe he's championship standard at his best.
  2. tbf Davies was an emergancy loan signing, we had to wait until the 9th october to sign him. and he's now playing for Walsall in L1 (well he was, but he's now injured for 4 weeks....again). The fact he was our player of the season says more about how bad we were.
  3. Agreed, but some people are searching for a scapegoat with James gone and Wotton no longer really involved.
  4. At the end of the day I'd rather be winning 2-1 /3-1 whilst not playing that well. As opposed to totally outplaying a team whilst playing beautiful football, but only drawing or loosing. Winning when you are not at 100% is an indicator of a very good team.
  5. Sorry, but you cannot make such a massive claim based on commentary. Commentary paints a totally different picture than being there. Seabourne has been one of our better players since Adkins came in, but many people still want him out. I don't get it, he really isn't that bad.
  6. Barnard has been our best striker this season and should start every game.
  7. Adkins is a good manager and i feel quite safe with him in charge, he's so motivated to do well for us and i think he's such a clever fella. Maybe his press conferences are a little too cliched though...! Listen, you can tell what he is going to say before he's said it, it's a simple as that.
  8. i don't know who left back is, but he's clearly someone who has a personal issue with Cortese and the current setup at the club. possibly a disgruntled former employee looking to put down his former employees in anyway he can. take it all with a pinch of salt.
  9. Complacency is the danger from this game. Our recent home form is brilliant though, a win will probably put us in the top 6 (I'd be surprised if it doesn't) If we play anywhere near our best we should win comfortably
  10. Poor Paul ince - our record against him in the last 2 seasons: Played - 5 Won -5 Scored - 12 Conceded- 3 ''can we play you every week?'' etc.
  11. They surprised me nick, they didn't seem in control of that first half and i wasn't sure how we would turn it around. But that was a terrific 2nd half.
  12. possibly even 2nd if results go our way. but we would need alot of results to go our way...
  13. if we're going to carry on winning 3-1/2-1 whilst not being 100%, there isn't too much to worry about!
  14. after last weeks win from behind, this was another great test of character - and i think we've seen from that 2nd half in the last 2 weeks that we have the leaders and the drive to get the results. We're within touching distance of it all now, but we cannot go into the daggers game thinking it's already won - i just fear complacency, but if we get get the maximum from that game too then i'll start to believe that at last we may be the real deal. But this month is massive for us and will answer a lot of questions - we've set ourselves up perfectly, bring it on.
  15. isn't that 5 wins in a row over Ince? that's quality
  16. I love lallana
  17. Rudi skacel has just signed
  18. back to the drawing board steve/baj...
  19. Penalty!!!!
  20. Totally agree. We don't look anything like a promotion team and haven't done all season.
  21. 1-0 notts county
  22. I'd throw Oxo on for Puncheon, Morgan off for Guly. Push Guly just behind Lambo and Barnard and get Hammond to sit deeper and play the ball to the flanks (Lallana/OXO). maybe Bignall for Barnard later on in the game.
  23. almost 2-0. rubbish
  24. nice one hammond.
  25. Totally agree with you DD, bugs the heck out of me too. All we needed was a point against Plymouth on the first day and we'd have been top for a few hours
