few weeks IMO. I don't even think they're close. they've kept on Wilkins to create a familiar face in and around the first team, if someone was imminent i reckon he'd have gone too and Hunter would have just taken a day or 2's coaching.

It happened alot at QPR (i'm sure our resident QPR fan will pick me up on this if wrong) - they had a few Italian imports that the manager didn't scout. It's the European scouts that give the heads up on these sort of things, and luckily Cortese has a few links at Italian clubs and with Italian agents. I look at us now and see '''QPR'' - i remember thinking what nutters they were when they kept changing managers and expecting instant success. Thankfully they've toned down a bit now.

He was a cortese signing, Gully has the same agent as Papa apparently, and Cortese is ''friends'' with them.

He should have done it when he was planning to do it, the back end of last season. Only certain people talked him out of it at that point. Makes you wonder why he didn't just get it done there and then if all was really not well.

I would assume so. He's kind our ''director of football'' type figure so will have a say in all football decisions.

I think it's the timing that's shocked a few of us, after a 4-0 away win! As he didn't go last season i thought he'd be given at least 10 games this year.

After thinking about it for a bit, There were also rumours that Pardew wasn't even Nicola and Markus's first choice, so it's within the realms of possibility to believe that Pard's has been under-review from day 1. Our start last season wouldn't have helped matters, and with us threatening to have a similar start this year i don't think Nicola could hold off. I'm still angry at the timing of the decision though, if he really wasn't happy with him he should have gone last season so we had a new guy in ready for the start of the season. What a truly surreal season this is, and we're not even a month into it yet.
