We lack so much pace it's untrue, our good runs last year came when we started to introduce pace into the team. The players we currently have are too static and if you add that to the injury to lallana and the ineffectiveness of lambert - we're not the same team. I hope that work has gone on to line up a couple of loans for next week when the window opens, primary requirement - PACE!

you're a sandwich short of a picnic mate.
-
People are being very harsh on Adkins and very ignorant as to what he's achieved, at a club in a higher league than us.
-
you're the biggest drama queen on here by miles.

amazing PNE 3-1 up, 83mins on the clock 90mins......Burnley 4 - 3 PNE

Hope you're right - we need some guidance now and i'm optimistic about Atkins, i like how he speaks and i like his passion for the job here.

I think you need to start to look at the pre-season if im honest.
-
possibly (not on the hoddle bit, as that's boring now mate), but i still think Adkins has developed high enough reputation in these leagues for players to respect him. We all wanted a big name manager and i think we all kind of felt that's what NC had to do, but it's not going to happen so the next best thing is to go with up and coming talent.

Well Solent broadcasted a quote they received from him today, so i assume he was at Swindon.
-
Well i hope so, i can't answer that. but he certainly deserves a chance and he'll get my support. The fact that our fans are texting in solent and saying ''what are we doing appointing this relative nobody?'' shows how arrogant we've become. We are L1, and L1 for a reason.

Don't read into the table yet. Do you believe the top 3 will be as it is in may? do you believe the top 4 will be as it is in may? i don't - we've played a game less than anyone else and the other top teams aren't exactly consistent either. It's a crap set back, granted, but at this stage it really doesn't mean a great deal as long as we get things sorted asap.

agreed!

I am surprised by the reactions on this thread tbh. He sounds like he's a dead man walking amongst some of the fan base before he's even stepped foot in the door. I've listened to him speak and I've read the comments from his current clubs fans and that is enough for me to build up the opinion that he is an extremely talented manager, waiting for his big break. I fear though that if he loses is first or second games, people will be right on his back. He doesn't deserve that, he's done nothing wrong.
-
I think he's made the right choice. This is too much of a poisoned hotseat, let him get on with the work he's doing there.

adkins out!

We just need someone the players can look up to and respect.

tbf we should have known this would have happened. made favorites by everyone in football, so obviously we're going to prove them wrong. It's the saints way. So, so, so depressing. I fell back in love with this club last year, but this year it's just so much of a strain.

Les Reed - has and will have NOTHING to do with the first team

tbf he's a good coach and our success last season was also down to him in parts. but he's out of his depth as the full time manager at a club this size. -
FT another shocking result, i thought we'd draw at least here. We still have a chance, but we can now only realistically have 3 or 4 more defeats all season if we want to win the league. That may be impossible, there's a chance we could end up scraping away to get into the playoffs at this rate, which would be shocking.
-
deano going off would just cap a wonderful day and a wonderful start to the season.
-
swindon almost score again. we've lost this.
-
how depressing, i never thought i'd feel like i do this season. I was so looking forward to it. We still have a chance to rescue it, but still - what a mess.
