  1. Agree with that totally. At Millwall he was relaxed, enjoyed his game and then out came his championship quality. All he needs here is a goal, it's been a horrible barren spell for him in a saints shirt and I think it's affecting him mentally. Adkins is the best possible person to help him with that though.
  2. Pilkington would cost double that, maybe even more. Hudds aren't mugs and they have a bit of cash behind them now. There are prem. teams scouting him as well, def. one of the best players in the lower leagues. Not the sort of signing we'd be able to make yet. Someone like Harley, or even pugh at Bournemouth are def. reasonable targets for us. Wouldn't cost a fortune and are very good at this level.
  3. He was ok today - nothing more. His touch and build-up play is always pretty good, exquisite at times...but unfortunately it's that final pass or that final shot that he's lacking with us at the moment. He's not going anywhere now that's for sure.
  4. I think he is a bit, he was just out-muscled if im honest. Didn't get much time on the ball and they had 4 or 5 players around him whenever he started running. Was quite a difficult game for him, he did have a couple of moments though which resulted in one of our best chances - when punch blazed over the bar.
  5. Too late on that one Derry, Papa has joined a 2nd division Italian team. (couple of weeks ago i think) I agree with your summary though. We weren't really allowed to play which made for a pretty numb game.
  6. Sounds very worrying if im honest.
  7. It's amazing how it can never go right at this club for more than a week.
  8. Pretty poor today, nothing of note really happened in and around the box at all. At least we didn't lose it.... oh well, on to next weekend.
  9. Pretty much, and we would then need to ensure that our backup contained the previous world-team of the year, just incase we get any injuries.
  10. Well they can't have him then, simples.
  11. tbf he comes across so well as a manager, fair play to him for wanting to better himself. What he's done at bournemouth with no money is truly amazing. They were an hour from non-league football less than 2 years ago, amazing. He's also just confirmed that his replacement will come from someone already at the club. Fletcher mentioned.
  12. 2-1 to colchester now!
  13. woooo 2-1 colchester
  14. I'll tune in as well then, nothing wrong with being a colchester fan for 10mins.
  15. I love colchester
  16. god you're bloody dull.
  17. Sorry, but from someone who has gone to every home game this season (this isn't a dig at you Alps) he hasn't had too many howlers at all and when he's played he's been his usual steady eady. I wouldn't say he's 2nd choice.....he's being cleverly rotated with Dickson and by doing that we get the best of both. 2 good LB's that are probably the best at this level.
  18. I think what he's trying to get at is that it's pointless spalshing the cash when it's not urgent, as if we get stuck down here finincially we could end up in **** creek again. Even if you have lots of money it's always better to be prudent with it, rather than just spending it because it's there.
  19. you cut the bit out where i justified what i meant...clubs are producing good young players that go on to get into their first team and maybe move to mid-range prem clubs. But i cannot see clubs producing players that go on to be ''international stars'' and champions league players at the rate we are. Look at Bale and Theo...and if Alex keeps going the way he is he should be as succesfull as them.
  20. Bit harsh, compared to what we've had there in recent seasons he's been a breath of fresh air. IMO anyway.
  21. I can't think off the top of my head of another club that is consistently producing young players at the level we are. We're not just producing ''good young players'' we're producing young players that are tipped to go on and become international stars. If only we were in the premiership...does my head in! Then we may have a chance of keeping a talent for more than 12 bloody months.
  22. Grab your ticket for Arsenal Charlie. You keep saying you'll be off, but you never quite manage it. Anyway i will be very suprissed if he's not here in feb. If he's here on a loan back then so be it, but he'll be here for the season. Cortese will not want this to damage our prospects this year.
  23. I'm not suprised, we don't need any ''major'' signings. We could well be better off waiting till the summer ''when'' we're promoted and see if we can attract real top top players. At the mo the squad is ok and should get us to the championship. but lol@alpine again.
  24. Richardson is a good shout, but i totally agree with Seaborne. I think he's been one of our most improved players tbh, although he's never been as bad as some people make out. I'm not surprised clubs from a higher league are after him. Will be a v good player, he's developing into a proper CB. Also morgan has been a joy to watch in recent weeks. He's majestic at times.
  25. Probably by Saturday...and once we get there i can't see us dropping back down.
