  1. how on earth Bentley ever commanded an £18m fee is beyond me.
  2. i thought he was pretty rubbish tbf, lots of tricks/quick feet, but very very little end product at the end of it. I'd rather persevere with Antonio, who has better attributes IMO.
  3. but your view is a bit silly, as you've put all of the bad results into one pot without actually trying to understand the stage the team was at, or when in the season we got those results. The -10 and the start killed us (where 60-70% of those results occurred), after we got over that and into October, we have had similar form to that of Norwich/Millwall/Swindon over the course of the season. If that doesn't convince people that we'll be pushing next season, i don't know what will. There is currently very little wrong with this football club in the grand scheme of things - so enjoy it. It's all well and good at quoting the ''SO MANY POINTS BEHIND NORWICH'' line - but try to understand exactly why we are, and it's not because we're ****.
  4. Gillingham away will be tough though, their home form is all that's keeping them above the bottom 4 - they are in the top 20 in the entire country with their home form, so it's not a banker by any means. I think we'll probably beat rovers, I've got question marks over the yeovil one though. We should win it...but we should have won at Tranmere and Exeter etc...just seems to be engraved in the makeup of saints!
  5. think we can do better tbh, he's just an average lower league RB with pace...
  6. you're right, i'm a pillock.
  7. fair point, my maths is pants at the best of time. i'll get my coat.
  8. don't forget our GD people - it's +31, Huddersfield have +18 after today. So that in it's self is an extra point. 7 points off with a game in hand it is then
  9. A really entertaining game, end to end and could have easily ended 2-2 - but we have to thank Davis that we won that, he pulled off some fantastic saves (Although some of the shots were straight at him, his reactions were superb) Lambert didn't look fit to me today, i noticed him hobbling around after about 20mins - i don't think he ever recovered from that as he struggled to dominate against a pretty solid back 2 of Daily and Sodje. We dug deep in the end and clawed out a priceless result, the teams above us are within reach. People are forgetting our GD as well, which is worth an extra point as no one in the chasing pack will gain on our GD of +31 by the end of the season. So really, we're 7 points off with a game in hand. All we can do now is keep winning, i honestly don't think we can drop any more points now - we have to keep this pressure up, the teams are starting to look down at us. We are the worst team they want to turn up in the playoffs, as we'll most probably win them. It's still a long-shot...but more do-able than it was at 3pm today!
  10. ah good read, those were the days. *cough* probably the best game Morgans had for us though, shame it was only in a pre-season game.
  11. totally, he's a mainstay in their PL team and european teams. He's been a key part in their games against Juve and Wolfsburg. glad he's stepped up tbh, because as you said - he got **** loads of stick when he first went there, but that was at RB - i don't think Roy plays him there, seems to be either CB or DM.
  12. The goal Zamora scored last night was v nice. Possibly a bit naive by the CB, but still a lovely bit of ability. Whenever I see Zamora though, I think - Michael Ricketts. They have a couple of fantastic club years blended into an average career. This is not a dig at Zamora, but this is possibly one of those seasons a striker gets every now and then, everything he hits turns to gold. - I don't think he's international class.
  13. Spot on, agree with that. (apart from the team not doing better this season - i think they've done as well as i'd expected) Slugging it out in a race for a playoff place next season will not be good enough though. but i think there are enough signs to suggest that we'll be pushing for the title all next season.
  14. Read the posts from THEVMAN and Western on y/days Lallana thread, that's all you need to know. he isn't going anywhere.
  15. he still can if he wants to would add something to our team, even if it was just for 1 season.
  16. Hull City's ground i think...kingston communications stadium, or whatever it's called.
  17. he's limping very very heavily, well done sir alex.
  18. you don't need to fiddle around with that anymore, just go to channel 178. it's launched as a full channel now, all their content is simulcast with ITV1 and is either up-scalled or in full HD.
  19. He's a fantastic little player, no denying that at all - but i don't think he'd be as influential or involved without someone like Xavi anchoring the midfield. the man is by far the best CM in world football IMO, doesn't get many mentions but he is as important to barca as messi.
  20. was confirmed by coleman i think, when they were *****ing about how we handled it. something along the lines of ''we'd even agreed to tear up his contract and let him join southampton on a free''
  21. 11 until we win that game don't count the points until they're on the board.
  22. i really admire your optimism, but it really isn't going to happen now. we're 11 points off.
  23. 2-0 huddersfield, how the **** they have won that is beyond me. oldham have dicked them without being able to finish. playoffs are all gone now, smallest chance just went off in the distance. we needed them to drop points tonight, if we were to have the games to catch them up.
  24. ******s huddersfield score, they have been completely dicked for 40mins
  25. **** sake, oldham hit the bar
