Was mentioned in the programme today by Pard's, his reasoning being that he needs someone ''on the pitch'' who can go and talk to the ref if needs be......he did say he'll stay as ''club captain'' and he's the best club captain he's worked with.

We dominated the game in terms of possession, but had no answer to brightons effort and grit - they were outstanding. They defended for their lives and fought for everything, well deserved winners IMO. Their CB won every single ball in the air, rickie struggled to get into the game at all. I wasn't surprised at Brightons attacking performance, they have been scoring goals all season - people speaking prior to the game about 4-0 wins etc are a little bit caught up in the run we've been on, they are a good side who i believe are in a false position. They spent over £1m in the summer and were expected to be pushing for promotion this year. Trotman had a shocker for us though, he's been a rock for us this season, but he lost us that game today in the first 30mins. He's still young and he'll learn from it, but he just wasn't with it at all. A really odd display from him. I don't think we should be saying stuff like ''serious questions need to be asked!!'' or go too OTT though - we were always going to loose a game again. The test will be to see how we respond.

Not a bad draw at all, anyone at home would have been perfect - as i honestly feel we could beat anyone at St Mary's at the moment. ....and if Hereford beat Mk Dons....which is completely possible, wembley looks amazingly close..
-
It'll be very tough IMO, no 4/5-0's here...i'd love to be proven wrong though. i'll take a scrappy 1-0 in the final minuite right now.

Clear as much dead wood as possible, the likes of Molly, Pulis, Gillett, Saga etc... bring in another striker...just to give us some further options. Lee barnard at Southend maybe. I'd also go out and buy a new DM, someone in a smilar mould to Pele (when he played there for us..)...good passer and just sits deep, breaks up the play and pops the ball around, which then lets Morgan and Hammond drive forward. Maybe Lloyd can do that, but i haven't seen enough of him there yet.

if you dig around on the match theread, there is another thick comment about how they should be beating teams like ''Us'' because we're in the bottom 3. complete morons, cannot stand them at all.
-
He's such a clever player, always on the move looking for bits of space. His touch is too good for L1, you can see that. If he can get really fit and stay fit with a run of games, he can hit 20-30 goals easily.

Harding has scored! against brentford way back in august

wow alps, good post
-
A charlton fan... ''Southampton are 3rd from bottom for a reason and we should steam rolling them'' absolute ignorant london tossers
-
He's your typical L1/Chapionship CB, not technically amazing but a brute and doesn't hesitate in just getting rid of the ball. He's done well, was v dominant in the air first half too IMO. - but he was a bit sloppy for their goal, if im really harsh.
-
That must have come from his usual impeccable source, who also confirmed the signing of riquelme and Eto'o - those 2 deals are still held up due to a complete lack of money apparently.
-
Home and away legs, no neutral ground until the main final.
-
He did ok, but it was hard to judge as he wasn't tested tbh. One really good claim though from a corner though, in windy wet conditions - was impressed with that. Not many clubs outside of the prem can boast 2 strong keepers like kelvin and bart.
-
No idea, i think he was just knackered though - he ran himself into the ground first half IMO.
-
agreed, just a home tie for me. Away to Norwich would be a sickener at this stage - need them in the area final IMO, so we have 2 legs to go at them.

Winning at Wembley in the first season - Good or Bad?
S-Clarke replied to PaulSaint's topic in The Saints
Bit of a silly thing to say tbf - if the JPT Final is the height of his ambitions (no offence to the comp) then we have a problem. -
As other people have said, we weren't outstanding - but we did a job on a decent team and closed the game out (what i'd give for a clean sheet though ffs! - that's why we're not the complete team yet...) When we got the ball down and moved it quickly in triangles, we were away - there is not one team in this league who would be able to contain that, we just need to get the ball down and do that a bit more...lallana is one of the most technically gifted players in the league, get him on the ball in space and we'll win lots of games. MOTM for me though was harding, brilliant today - seems to lead from LB and is always directing and shouting. Hammond was good as well, nice to see him with the captaincy too - i think that's a logical outfield choice if im honest. Happy days though - no defeat on sky

Wembley final is between the winners of the Northern and Southern finals. It goes from now on... Semi Final (same format as the other rounds) area final (2 legs - home and away) and the final at wembley. (winners of the 2 area finals)
-
bloody impressive, i'm gutted i won't be there! annoying. leeds only got 10k last night too...
-
TBH (if we keep playing the same formation we have been) i'd be inclined to stick Murts at RB and push james into midfield, in the place of wotton.
-
norwich or Mk Dons away would be tough...
-
Southern section results tonight... Leyton Orient 1 - 1 Hereford (Hereford win 3-2 on Pens) MK Dons 3 - 1 Northampton Swindon 0 - 0 Norwich (Norwich win 5-3 on pens) some tough teams still in it, if we get through tomorrow...
-
tbf he just did really well there, to snuff out beckford. he's not had a bad game really, just typical of his career so far that he scores an OG
-
he's just scored a goal ....in the wrong net
