Just listened to that. was a great interview, i really like what he has to say - he's spot on with our failings and how a couple of our players respond to situations. He was pretty adamant in saying only 2 more signings - and that's it though, he did say there would be no more after he's brought in the 2 he wants. He said we already have too big a squad and he doesn't want to increase it. ...unfortunately it's a squad full of utter trash, such as Pulis.

Good player, but another injury prone one im afraid. He was out for about 6 months in all last year (got injured 3 games into a loan spell at PNE). We've got enough of those....

It really did sound like he's struggling to attract players. I remember the same interview where he said about 4 players? just after Lambert signed iirc. He wanted to get them in quickly as there's no time like the present.... We've either been out priced...or our excellent start to the season has set some alarm bells ringing for potential signings. - I'd still say it's too early to judge us though tbf!

Heard Pard's on South today tonight....looked very downbeat ''We still need 1 or 2 players, but it's proving ever so hard. They probably wont be in time for Tuesday, but maybe before Saturday.''

Stick James back at RB, no problems. The issue now though is - who the heck plays in RM? Im not sure Thompson is quite ready to start games, he sitll looks very raw

I have heard (only whispers, nothing completely concrete) that Bristol Rovers want him and that's why he wasn't in the squad on Saturday, he's fit AFAIK - but looks like he'll be off. I agree with all you say though, it would be utter madness to sell him IMO. if there are players we need to get rid of from last years disaster, he'd be last on the list..

Decent interview - but you can understand why they are keen to bring in a DoF role. I doubt Cortese really knows the English leagues, or the players we're tracking...so it's hard for him to make good judgments. I'd imagine a DoF will be in place sooner rather than later, he did say that in his first press release tbh.

I find it bizzare that Jackson is not guaranteed football at Colchester? He was their player of the season in the championship.......and wasn't too bad for them last season either. Something else must have gone on behind the scenes, he's good enough to start in most teams in this league. Still - i hope we can benefit from that

Central midfield. Was looking up on him earlier and he wants out because Colchester cannot guarantee him a place in the team. Seems odd, as he was one of their better players last year.

I agree that we need improvements and reinforcements - and pard's will do that, he's not silly enough to expect this current squad to achieve our targets. We're lacking leaders down the spine and as i keep saying!!! pace down the flanks (and up front if im being picky). I think we're 3-4 players and 3-4 months from being a real force in this league.

Interesting shout TBH - but i don't think it solves our real problem. I bet you that Saga will 90% of the time cut inside if he was played on the right...and he's not exactly the quickest. We need an urgent injection of pace in this team (on the right in particular )...and i hope pard's can see that.

Can't agree with that Robbie. Our team is good enough to stay up - but it's not yet good enough to be competitive enough to challenge in the top end. Davis/Harding/Lambert/Morgan/Murts/Rasiak Thomas (maybe) - would walk into 90% of teams in this league...and im sure Gillet/Saga/Bart would make the starting line up in most... All we are lacking at the moment is a blend, the right blend. I'd agree and say that we need to drop Adam at the moment and bring him back into a confident team. If we bring in one of the midfielders and defenders we've been linked with...and add some width on the flanks, then we'll be able to challenge. We're not league 2 quality though.....we walked over Northampton without breaking sweat....

Great stats for Lambo Played 3 - Scored 3. This is how he started last season according the the rovers fans, scored in everyone of their first 10 games i think? He certainly knows where the goal is - would love him to be supported by width though.

Came on as a sub, and by accounts of what people have been saying on here - he didn't disgrace himself.

Carsley would be great - but a tad unrealistic atm. (hey...i'd love to be proven wrong) He's exactly the 'sort' of player we need though...it's just a case of finding the right player who's within our reach.

I agree to an extent on that. I just fear where we will stand in January if we don't add to the squad now though...i don't want us to go into the new year in and around the bottom 4.

Good player! He was influential for colchester last year - hasn't played yet this year though (i guess he's injured/ or wants out ??) Goal scoring/attacking midfielder who knows this league = perfect.

Apparently off to Bristol rovers after they made a bid...heard a whisper on Friday...and surprise surprise he's not even in the squad today. Would make no sense to sell him.
