  1. Let's ban anyone with a bit of perspective, i agree.
  2. It's not good enough, i agree. In reality though the state of the team and club that was left from last year, left a lot to be desired. So many aspects of the club need rebuilding from top to bottom. Teams like Charlton had the ability to come down, keep the majority of the squad and structure and kick on. We lost 10 players i think? Lots of upheaval both on and off the pitch and it will require patience. I did hold a little hope that we'd galvanize ourselves and do a leeds when they were on -15, but hey ho - this is saints, why would we do a silly thing like that??? Give us a couple of months and we'll be winning regularly. We just need that one result....then it'll all click into place IMO.
  3. Physically we were better today, we seemed to cope with their threat. It will take us time, but we're getting ''better''. The millwall performance was built on adrenalin....i always felt the real state of the team would show in the up and coming games...and it has. We're getting there though. Slowly though, granted... Just frustrated that we couldn't see it out again though. I agree with what is said though, the glaringly obvious problem with this side is the frightening lack of pace. We just do not trouble the oppo enough by getting in behind them. And please sent Thomson out on loan, he's just ridiculously lightweight.
  4. that was brilliant!
  5. I think it's quite obvious that part of Lowes cut backs was the scouting, i heard a story last season that the prep for one of the games (not sure which one) was based on the players sitting in the staplewood canteen and watching the short 5 min highlights of the oppo from their website. That was it. Then they went back out on the training pitches to focus on ''one touch passing..''.
  6. What has been with this club for the past few years? Constantly trying to find ways to play as many players as possible out of position. For once though...(it seems like it's been years!!!!) we have 2 natural full backs - both on their right sides! the future is bright...
  7. If we are to lose one of the Poles, i'd rather it's him. Pard's said on SaintsTV yesterday ''the agenda will come clear soon, we're not trying to surround it all in mystery, but suffice to say 1 or 2 will leave and this will then mean 1 or 2 will arrive.''
  8. He played for Wolves in the 2nd half in their Win at wigan. He looked quite classy on the ball tbh, and had much more space than he's used to. Mick played him in a ''midfield'' 3, rather than left mid or left back. Didn't look out of place at all, and i never expected him to.
  9. Why do we need him? Good player i agree, but full back isn't really a position i'd want us to strengthen atm.
  10. Quite and interesting bit towards the end of the interview on SaintsTV... ''The agenda will become clear in a few weeks, i don't want to cloud it in mystery, but there will be 1 or 2 going out and I'll then look to bring 1 or 2 in'' I 'guess' he means one of the Poles, and possibly Holmes - and will this then open the door for the 2n'd ''Exciting and surprising'' signing that Cortese promised?
  11. and derby away, that was an awesome performance we took the **** out of them at times...but derby were v poor.
  12. Lowe did want to move Davis on, as he was on a big wage... but well played Davis for sticking here....he'll end his career here IMO.
  13. Good point if you look down the spine of the team, Lambo - Hammond - Trotter...all way over 6ft..good stuf
  14. It totally make sense! By playing in that position he isn't ''directly'' affecting the teams balance, as we still have Mills out on the left. (ok he is injured atm..but you get my point) Also you'd think lambert will hold it up, move it on, flick it on etc...adam could kind of play as a 2nd forward - i think he'd be great there...i just wish it would be tried!
  15. Davis Murty - Thomo - Trotman - Harding Mellis - Hammond - Gillett - Mills Lallana Lambert Subs - Bart - Greg - Morgan - Olly - Perry - Gobern - White Saying that..i still think Adam could do with a break from the team, but i'd like to see how he does in this sort of position and shape first.
  16. Oldham fans like him tbh... ''Quality signing. On Loan until January?. Colchester fans were raving about him when he was with them last season. Never put a foot wrong for us. Better than any current centre half in league 1 in my opinion.''
  17. Sour grapes....colchester fans loved him, you don't get player of the season for being ****e. and the comments i've seen from colchester fans have all been very very positive.
  18. Time to adjust expectations, they're a division above us now - and he cost them 500k a couple of years back. We need to get used to signing reserve championship players for the next couple of seasons...
  19. I'm ITK PNE supporting friend got an SMS from their official site saying it was a done deal - loan till jan 3rd.
  20. He's ours (well until the new year anyway) - will be announced this afternoon
  21. exactly....!!! why can't people see this? When we're in a better position to attract players - we'll buy them. At the moment it's tough, and i don't think our start has made us an even more attractive proposition! If we can get to Jan/summer, out of hte bottom 3 and towards mid-table then it's been a success - we can then go and get the players we really wanted (or better players, who have since become avaliable)
  22. Key issue here - we haven't had any for years. The scouting is utterly awful, as stated by Pards Going back to the first point on the first page....have you thought about these loan signings in this way? Pard's has found it very hard to attract who he really wants - so we're bringing in these good quality loans to tide us over untill we're in a better position. - i.e january. It's good that he's not just going out and paying for ''average'' players - but he's biding his time untill we are able to get in the best. That may be next summer, or january.
  23. If he's the player i think he is....then he is extremely highly rated. I remember there being a feature before one of Colchesters live games last year, where either Peter Beagre or Kamara previewed this player and raved about him... Millwall were v keen to sign him too. from the preview of him i remember them describing him as a ''technically gifted, extremely quick, but an amazingly strong CB for his age''. Preston fans aren't happy he's gone - they think he should be in their first team! Forget all that though, we should have signed him for £5m to signal our intent
  24. There is a huge shake up in the scouting system taking place at the moment, the new scouting setup should be ready after Saturday. I'd expect (From how AP is speaking) that alot of time and possibly even finances have been put into it.
  25. The west ham fans really didn't rate him at the start of his reign - took him a little while to get grip of it all. but then at the end of the season, there he is with the players on an open top bus holding a trophy. He's making sensible signings that equate to what we all believe we are lacking - so give it time...
