  1. i guess we've looked into the possibility of expanding, as we were keen on a world cup bid - but i cannot imagine that will be done until we look like we're heading for the premiership. (i.e top 6 championship...)
  2. Hopefully we can get a decent fee for him. I think he should be valued between 300-500k, he's still got 2 years on his contract too.
  3. 1 step at a time we're still in the bottom half of L1 and alot will need to change for us to become a sustained prem. club again, not just a top 10 club...but a sustained bottom half club. The prem. has changed so much since we were last in it, to the point where teams like Stoke and Hull are having to shell out 20 odd million just to achieve safety. There's a long way to go yet, but we'll make it eventually. These guy's will not fail.
  4. An article in today's Times suggests that PFC will incur a minus 10 point penalty from the Premier League at the end of this season, and a minus 27 point penalty at the start of next season imposed by the Football League. Has anyone else read this? It just gets from bad to worse. Wouldn't surprise me tbf, they need a proper investigation into the finances there as so much dodgy **** has gone on - surley on par with Luton.
  5. How come? This season we're far less frustrating and much more consistent. In 2006 we used to go and win 3 on the bounce...and then loose to southend or colchester, and i think we all knew in our hearts of hearts that it was win or bust that year. This is such a better feeling because you know we are safe, we can just keep growing and keep getting better from now on. There is no longer that pressure of having to sell off a good team after a good season.
  6. ignore...double post!
  7. Those images do look really impressive, having those sort of facilities in L1 is amazing really. It's funny that portsmouth still haven't got a training ground....and we are going ahead to redevelp our existing one, in L1.
  8. Was waiting for this to start, apparentley Nicola/Markus will be making a huge invesment in the training and acadamy structure. I believe the ''lodge'' for the acadamy is also moving to the training ground site.
  9. Lallana has improved his consistency more than anything. But i'd say the most improved player overall is Morgan. He seems to have added an extra ''bite'' to his game, he went messing way too much last season and even in the early parts of this season - but he's improved so quickly.
  10. It's even more impressive that we've only had 2 defeats in the last 16 league games (or 18 games if you count the cup exploits) no getting away from it - this is league winning form (just a shame we had the - 10 start...!)
  11. I'm going to go for Hammond - he may not stand out as much as the others with goals/asists etc (but his goal count is quite healthy) - but you cannot hide away from the complete turn around in results since we've had him in the middle. just checked the stats - since his debut against brentford (16 league games ago) - we've only lost 2 games! thats unheard of!
  12. I feel sorry for Cork - he needs to have a loan to a team that's winning and playing well, he seems to be attracted to poor-relegation threatened sides.
  13. Nope, i feel sorry for him, but he was one of the reasons spurs didn't win that game. His defending for their first goal was atrocious and in the build up to the 2nd, he gave the ball away. He totally needs a loan deal and again it's a fine example to the likes of Lallana and Morgan...that grass isn't always greener. Look at Fabian Delph at Villa too - was a star for Leeds, played week in week out - gets the move to the prem in jan and has made an astonishing 4 appearances...just 4. Although I've heard he's a star in the reserves. Bostock too.....was playing at Palace, spurs come sniffing...off he trotts. Where is he now? a division below palace, playing for brentford. If Lallana has any sense, he'll stay here. We'll be in the prem. before long. - and he'll be more than ready for the step up by then.
  14. wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, always timed for when they play us! didn't realise until y/day that they were under the stewardship of their physio!!
  15. Size is available on a free i think, don't think i'll sign him though. Antonio will be available for 100k max, he's out of contract in the summer and isn't fancied at reading at all. I'd extend his loan, see how he gets on for the full season before committing to a long-term deal. Owen Garvan is a decent shout, although i question his appetite as he came close to quitting the game a year ago as he'd become ''bored'' with it.
  16. he doesn't look quite right, i agree - but he's still got 3 in his last 3 games! Just imagine what he's like when he's fully fit!!
  17. one of the best managers in the league, should probably still be managing at championship level at least. All of his signings have been terrific too, the only question mark is on Mellis - but that's just because he hasn't played enough. All good though. Alot of credit must go to the backroom team of Murdoch, Downes and Wilkins too - not many clubs outside of the premiership can boast a backroom team of former managers. Lots of experience...
  18. better they're suspended for that game, than leeds away!
  19. we were 16 points off the top 6 when we lost to brighton last month i think! it does show how quickly it can be made up....
  20. no worries, we can make it 11 unbeaten at Leeds
  21. that is fantastic....what a prize moron
  22. Not according to some of the forums ive been looking at.... '' ''They were quality all over the park, we werent really in it until all over. Sansara very light weight they spotted that and the visiting scouts will have noticed to i'm sure. Wanted us to show our play off ambitions today, I saw 8-14th. S'ton possibly the best side at Bescot for years.'' ''We got taught a lesson today and id even say Southampton a much better side than Leeds came down..!'' ''I think that bit of class caught the lad out. But no he's not the scapegoat. They sure did their homework on Steve Jones and they looked a class act.''''
  23. No! absolutely not, seriously. We are a level above all the teams in the bottom half of this league, if we just avoid relegation by the end of the season then it will have been an awful season. Please - show some ambition, we're starting to play as if we're too good for this league.
  24. ''With 4 wins on the bounce, 10 away games unbeaten and 11 wins in 14 games (scoring 35 goals in the process) Southampton boast a current record up there with some of the most inform teams in England. Leeds United will be in for their biggest test of the season when they face the Saints in a fortnight.''
