Message to club - Any DANGER of signing a CB or two
S-Clarke replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
If you listen to the radio interview he says it towards the end. ''We are hopeful of having a new defender in by Saturday...'' -
Thompson has pace his problem is that he doesn't know how the **** to use it.
-
Lee holmes is going - well he is subject of enquires from clubs and we're considering them.... but McLaggon is a great option when fit
-
I'm still waiting for his big announcement....from last friday. Apparently we would all be shocked and surprised at what (should have) happened. Nope...sorry....
-
Well he's better than Wotton. In our playoff season he was truly an unfair scapegoat - he did the simple things well and alot of our wins were built around how he kept it solid in the middle. Wotton doesn't keep it simple, he just hooof's it about 2 years in front and then fowls the player. Wotton isn't a scapegoat...he's just ****.

what's that got to do with anything? are you saying that Lambert helped them lose games? despite scoring 29 goals last year?
-
All the players we have signed so far are players who have been promoted in recent years. They have all played at this level before and are ''proven''. So they are quite shrewed signings...and it's being odne in the right way. Murty with reading, Hammond with Brighton, Harding with Brighton, Lambert with Bristol Rovers...all good news for next season IMO when i have a feeling we could storm it. (please...!)
-
He wouldn't go out on loan, his problem is he thinks she's too big for that now and after his supposded ''attitude'' in the summer - he belives he's too big for us. Putitng him in the reserves would probably prompt him to leave - but tbh, we will not see results with him in the team atm.
-
A player that can offer us something a bit different......quality in midfield! we should play Hammond - Gillet IMO - compared to Wotton and Morgan that's world class.
-
Take him out of the side and stick him in the reserves for a few months. He cannot play for us at the moment. - completley wrong player for us atm. Bring him back when we're confident and winning, with some momentium and i believe he can offer us something. but at this moment he's not right for us...and we're not right for him.
-
i posted that before tonights game not sure what to expect now if im honest
-
I'm inclined to agree. I'd keep Kelvin as ''Club Captain'' - but i'd stick a CM as the 'team' captain figure. Kelvin is great...but we could just do with a vocal voice in the middle of the pitch that everyone can respect - kelvin is too far away at times.
-
I agree. I'm not sure what Pard's problem is with him. When we get Hammond i'd play him in the middle alongside Gillet. At least that would give us some damn bite!
-
well everyone we've come up against this season manages to cause us problems with pace...it's out there and even at lower levels you can pick up some gems. Kightly at wolves is a good example, same with the two peterborugh front lads I guess our issue is again down to the lack of scouting options...because the players are out there.
-
I know it's said alot, but I've never seen such a slow, lumbering predictiable team than we have at the moment. We will not be successful at this level if we do not add pace to this team. Our front line is too static and our midfield is too lightweight and slow, we have plenty of times to hit teams on the break but this often breaks down because we're so slow. I really hope Pard's has a pacy player up his sleeves because we're screaming for it. We need someone up front who can play on the shoulder of the CB worrying the oppo...causing them problems and creating space with his pace. Then we need a winger who has the ability to get to the by line and beat players with pace - this is a quality seriously lacking in this side at the moment. We're so easy to play against because we don't worry the oppo enough...and it's all to obvious that teams at all levels are most worried about pace. Please - sign some pace!!!

For the first time i'm concerned by those comments. He's usually spot on with his judgements and honest in his assessments. They're coming from a manager who is obviously at a loss at to what's gone wrong and is trying to grab as many positives as possible. Not sure this was better than Huddersfield pards...they just didn't have a Jordan Rhodes up front to punish us. In all honesty based in performance terms...i'd say listening on, thsi sounded worse.

"Southampton put a bit of pressure on and the end but other than that it was a quiet night. Quote from Swindon's goalie. Utterly unacceptable.
-
oh i will, i know it'll take time...but it still doesn't feel great to still be loosing, in a league lower Patience is a virtue, but boy does this club wear it thin.
-
the bloody worry is attracting players is getting harder and harder after every **** poor defeat. good L1/championship players are not going to leave for a club that looks like it may be hovering in the lower reaches of league 1. (i hope you haven't changed your mind though hammond...) We've got to bide our time and get to January and see where we are..... quite worried tbh.
