  1. Confirmed on OS http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1838969,00.html ...looks like it may turn into a permanent deal too, according to the local paper down there ''TORQUAY United have signed Southampton winger Jake Thomson on loan. The signing was due to be completed on Tuesday. Thomson, 20, is joining the Gulls for a month initially, with a view to an extension and possibly a permanent deal.''
  2. forgot about them...yep they do. What an amazing job Howe has done down there though, they have a squad of like 13 professionals - they even had to resort to having their assistant manager playing in midfield...and they're still top of the league.
  3. Stockport - who are still in admin as far as i know? If it drags on much longer then the league could hit more deductions on them. Leyton Orient have been struggling for a few years, millwall aren't exactly flush with cash and i don't think Tranmere are that far from admin either. bit of a mess in these lower leagues - and it's not really down to overspending either. Then you look up at clubs like portsmouth (a fine example at the moment) who overspend beyond their means, have had 2 owners already this season and there is talk of another...and still haven't had any punishment.
  4. http://www.southendunited.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10444~1838744,00.html Chairmans statement. I quite like southend, i'd never wish admin on anyone tbh - we were bloody lucky, but could have so easily been starting in the blue square.
  5. I heard about that... we'd actually move up a place too, as Southend would drop into the bottom 4 on 7 pts.
  6. +1
  7. That van persie fella looks quite handy, him and Vela on loan in january please pards.
  8. I'd get rid of Saga and bring in Barnard from Southend, they're subject to a winding up order on Wednesday, so would snap our fingers off for 200-500k. i'd then go and bring in a DM...depends on the positions of the teams and if Charlton have tailed off or not, but i wouldn't be surprised to see us go in for Racon at Charlton. ...oh and obviously either extending the loan or buying trotts.
  9. Oldknow and i think(?) Wilkins was there too (oddly, oldknow was next to Tony adams), it panned to them right at the start. ..and btw, don't reading remind you of us last season? so many similarities in results/style of play.
  10. I think that box has been gone for a few months. Haven't seen them around for a while....i think Leon has an interest in Eastleigh now though.
  11. I hope trotts is looking at the longer term situation...and doesn't just jump back to PNE to play at a higher level. ...PNE are skint and could go into administration any time soon, to possibly avoid that they will have to start selling off their better players, which will = league 1. I can see a few sticky years coming up for preston....but i can see it being alot more comfortable here, with a chance of genuine silverware.
  12. I think he'll be here for a long time, even if we don't go up this year (which is still a long shot btw) It's not up to players to decide they want to go, or other clubs to dictate anymore. He's our player and unless an unbelievable offer comes in - he will remain our player. Markus has not bought this club to see it's best players sold off after every remotely successful year. Adam has got a ticket to the premiership here - and he can play a key part in getting us there.
  13. He'll get lots of mentions from me. my favorite player at the moment, he's everything you want from a midfielder.
  14. He's a solid player, and he's still pretty young (21 i think) He started a bit iffy last season but slowly came into his own...it's been the same this season. His last few games have been top notch. He could have gone in the summer too, as a couple of championship clubs put in tentative enquiries for him.
  15. Their situation has me completely confused if im honest. This article appears with all these quotes from Faraj.....then pompey release a statement saying ''it's fake - we will be taking legal advise'' now they're saying ''ok, it was true'' wtf? their club is hanging by a thread, and if im honest - i'd hate to see them go off the map completely, but if they get relegated (which is looking more likley by the day) then they will probably never ever recover.
  16. Interesting post. you can totally see some training ground routines paying off now. Esp. lamberts goal...that was made at the training ground.
  17. Another view from an MK Dons fan ''We were really taught a lesson today. Not only did they outplay us in every part of the pitch, they outfought us in every part of the pitch. The outplaying was embarrassing at times - the way their players moved for each other off of the ball was both fantastic and painful to watch. They wanted the ball more than us for 90 minutes. They battled for everything, and we had nothing to offer in return - just repeated hoofing of the ball up the pitch.''
  18. Even the MK Don's fans disagree with those comments. If you want a good view on our performance from an MK Don's voice...read this from their forums... ''We were really taught a lesson today. 19. first half we were, but 2nd' half we passed the ball around them in triangles a lot of the time, whilst they just stood and watched us break on them again...
  20. Last time we won 4 league games in a row was in our playoff year under burley. leeds 3-0, hull 4-2, brum 4-3, luton 2-1 ....then after that we went to Southend and lost Not sure on the 5 wins in all comps though...don't think we did that in our playoff year...
  21. ''"We're paid to win - professionals are paid to win, not to go through careers being average'' i love that line from pards...so true.
  22. x-ray to his elbow apparently, injured in the match (not sure how tbh?)
  23. Agreed, excellent. Strong and deceptively fast. Complete opposite of papa today.
  24. tbf that always happens when new people come on board. We've had a huge restructure at the club since Markus and co came in and so many people have been let go.
  25. Good to hear that sort of view from an oppo follower. I'd agree with them too, if we play like that every game there is no one in this division that could handle us (esp. in the 2nd half). i was so impressed at how well we chased them down and harried them all over the pitch. We did it until the 94th min too which shows that our fitness levels are there for all to see.
