  1. I don't think so. There were a couple of cracking rumours going round on deadline day. Simeon Jackson being seen alongside Jermaine beckford outside St Mary's was one of them...
  2. It'll be tough for Murts to get back in, although i still don't think James is 100% assured at RB... He does seem to get better with a run of games though, after slow iffy starts. (like the start of last season) If there is one thing he offers that not many others do...it's his crossing and corner's, which are pin point.
  3. We got one over them last time! (play off season) beat them 1-0 in the 86th min! keeping our playoff dream alive. I still don't think i'll ever be able to forget that 4-3 though, i felt sick for weeks. actually, even thinking about it now makes me sick...!
  4. Thats the key for me - that's what won them the game in the end, their mentality. That is something which still needs to be fully etched into us - but with the financial backing we have, i think we can be even stronger than leeds next season.
  5. I'm still cautious to say we have bottomed out - you know what this club is like, false dawn FC!!! ...give it a few more months and being completely clear of the relegation zone before i feel we've totally bottomed out.
  6. Wes Hoolahan was superb tonight, very much lallana-esque, in that he picks up pockets of space in and around Holt...and with his fleet footed-ness just creates space and opens up the game. Norwich played the better football tonight IMO - Leeds were effective on the break but struggled to pick up Hoolahan most of the evening. i reckon you could also get a bit of joy down the flanks against leeds...
  7. Looking at Leeds squad tonight, we've got a bit to go yet... Beckford, Vokes, Gradel (bench), Howson, Snodgrass, Bechio, Bromby....Doyle...not half bad, i must say. Hopefully ours can be on par with that from jan onwards.
  8. Good result for us tonight (Leeds 2 - 1 Norwich), keeps the playoff places well within reach
  9. Max Gradel has just come on for leeds too - he's been awesome

    Leyton Orient

their ticket system has been down most of the afternoon can't book at the ticket office, over the phone, or online.... great!
  11. Sounds to me like they want to try and do a perm. would be a shame, i rate oscar...
  12. Stuck with Kelvin so far i think, although he probably will at some point (maybe next season) go with an on-field captain. Should easily be Hammond, no contest based on his showings so far.
  13. Not old enough to remember him..!
  14. IMO for what he has to offer and what he has already offered...£1m is a snip for a player of his undoubted ability. He reminds me of a very good cross between Beattie and Rob Hulse...
  15. Murty, Jaidi, Hammond, Lambert, Wotton...have all captained successful teams....and that is our spine. Not bad at all! makes a difference when you inject that sort of mentality right through the team.
  16. He's finished at Saints, the final nail was hammered in when a new striker who had been out for 2 years, was brought in - replacing him on the bench. The problem seems to be that no one wants to take him on, possibly because of his 8k p/w wages.
  17. I don't actually mind the format, some of it is a bit cringe-worthy i must admit...but it's good having some live studio based content to cover the football league. ITV were the best at creating excellent snazy glamor shots in games, whilst actually managing to miss the action. I prefer the BBC's efforts so far.
  18. Seriously? Whos moaning other than you at the moment? He's made a completely valid point and - and i'm sure you'll be very worried if we do loose him as well. With loans it's always a risk to carry and i'd also prefer not to have a team full of them. I'm not sure why you keep responding to apline's post with these sort of replies.
  19. completely agree with alps on this one. This club has been prone to an ''oh, it can wait'' attitude for too long now. I'd be surprised if Pard's hasn't started exploring the possibility of a perm. for Trotts already. I'd hate to loose him, as we've built our defensive play around him - for set plays anyway. Pard's has made him the main header of the ball.
  20. Wouldn't say we're firmly entrenched. 4 weeks ago we were 12 points off safety - now just 5, which should be cleared within the next few weeks.
  21. I'm pretty sure that if we offer what they find acceptable, they'll sell. They're in a position where all their players now have a price - 700k - 1m is a reasonable range for Trotts IMO. i really really hope we sign him up on a 5 year deal, he can climb the leagues with us.
  22. That finish was real class - his first chance too, not a bad ratio! One of the things that i've noticed in this league is how slow players minds are. If you can get someone like Connolly fit and confident, his awareness and footballing brain will be enough to fool most opposition.
  23. He's not just quick - he's direct and very strong, which is rare for out and out wingers these days. I've not actually seen him yet (going by the commentators descriptions/other fans ratings) - but at the moment he sounds like the perfect impact sub. Pard's said it was an initial 1 month loan to have a look....i reckon that'll be extended.
  24. They've got big darren powell at the heart of their defense! so let's get in there with a few weak tackles, and he'll be off
  25. Not sure but Leeds made a damn good fist of it - despite starting on -15 a couple of years ago, they would have finished 2nd if not for the deduction (finished 3rd in the end i think) At the end of the day, a few of our players are too good for this level - and if they can maintain their form, we'll win most games.
