Morgan is probably one of our most technically gifted players - and to have a couple of ''technically'' gifted players in league 1 is rare. He didn't play too well last season because he had no idea what his role was - no one did. Under a good manager with the right shape and tactics around him he will be a star in a top half championship team - and because of his age he could easily make it in the premiership too. What the dutch did to these young players last season is a travesty - i hope AP can restore their confidence, although i fear it could take a while.

Huddersfield look to have bought well. Robbie Simpson was highly rated at Cov when they first signed him from the conference. And we sold Surman for an initial £1.2m rising to £2m, which is dependent on appearances/achievements and wolves avoiding relegation.
-
''And even though a new owner is poised to come in'' ? What the hell is going on down there. So as we all thought, the takeover is still subject to him actually having a pot to **** in(ala Pinnacle) It stinks, something isn't right with this at all....and Pompey fans should be very worried IMO. (esp when they're bidding £1.2m for 2 Nottm Forest reserve players and have a player released by crewe on trial)

McCarthy seems to like buying 'Potential' though, Kightly is a good example. I still hold the opinion that Mills will not get a game though. Not sure how we get 700k if he's out of contract though? Unless Wolves have agreed to pay us up in front to stop it going to a tribunal. I hope this isn't true, but again we can blame Pinnacle for this - he should have signed his contract weeks ago. Morons.

Bye bye crouch http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8169170.stm The Dr is rich for sure. Are they going to give Derby's record a run for it's money this season? Crazy goings on down there.
-
I must say, if he does move, to be frank - he's a pillock. I very much doubt he'll play for wolves, he's no where near ready for the prem yet. Money calling again if it's true i guess.
-
He's out of contract with us still, so it'll be for nout.
-
Has he signed his contract yet? Don't see what's holding it up, as it was drawn up a while ago.
-
Comments from Adam as well, confirms he's not going anywhere. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1733562,00.html

Agreed. I don't know why people seem to think we'll struggle all season with the likes of Carlisle, Exeter, Hartlepool, Stockport...... Fair enough we start with -10, but Leeds started with -15 and still wiped the floor with league 1. Most teams in this leauge would die for most of our players, and at last it looks like we have a manager who is able to mold it all together.
-
You say he spoke to us about a move....was this recently? Because i know Wotte tried to get him on loan towards the backend of last season.
-
He didn't actually, which is odd. Goals: Smith 4, Thornton pen 23, McGleish 52, Mkandawire 54, Jarvis 82, Baker 87 Scowcroft was subbed at HT.
-
Nope.. Full strength Newcastle team too...
-
He will always score goals, if you provide the service. In the likes of James/Harding/Holmes we have players with proven delivery - if we use the width properly, he'll get 20-30 in league 1 IMO.
-
Great game by the sounds of it. Let's take a moment out to laugh at Newcastle... LEYTON ORIENT 6 NEWCASTLE UNITED 1
-
He's the sort of player we should be looking at tbh. Loads of experience, a lot of that in top level European competition with bolton too. Obviously he's not as good as he was then, but he'd cope with league 1 - I'd offer him a 1 year contract, see what he can do.
-
The man speaks so much sense. Glad he isn't rushing into stuff for the sake of it. Murty was brought in by Wotte anyway, so it makes sense that pards wants to take a longer look.
-
Can't say i've seen much of him tbh. Who's he with at the mo?
-
I'd agree with Lambert if we weren't keeping stern. But as we have Stern (by the looks of it) then our priority must be a pacey striker.
-
Whaley, Kisnorbo and Hughes were free. Wiggins was a 'nominal fee'. Don't blame AP for missing out on these targets, blame those morons at Pinnacle who killed our pre-season preparations.
-
The point he made was a valid one though. These young kids confidence has been ruined because they were all thrown into a loosing side. A couple of players have come out of this better, i.e James, but the majority of them look a fragile mess (look at lancashire and Thompson a year ago - a huge difference) Yes they're good young players, but they weren't ready for week in week out football last year, a few appearances here and there would have prepared them much better. In a way last year has possibly slowed their progress.

I haven't heard anything, but it bet it's at 2pm

Burley got slated for NOT having this attitude. In our playoff season, even though we spent £8m, all he said was ''we'll see if we can make the top 6'' - even though we did, i admit we should have been pushing more for the top 2. If your manager is ambitious, the players attitudes often follow..
-
Not sure if he's been mentioned, but what about nathan delfouneso? good young player at villa, similar mold as agbonlahor with lots of pace. Obviously im not talking a transfer fee, but a season long loan would be good IMO.
-
Exactly. Also Loan's aren't exactly free either, the ''best'' loans command some sort of loan fee. What about Nathan Delfounsou (Sp?) from villa. He was linked to leeds a while back as part of a swap deal for Delph, but that died in the water.
