Good luck to him - good to see he's been given a break. I'll be watching their results with interest now.

By all accounts morgan had an absoloute stormer in a more advaned role on friday (he even scored, via lallana) Mellis will be benched for Saturday IMO, pard's will almost certainly name an unchanged team if he can (he' said last week that he's wanted to do that since he's got here) - But you can now look at our bench and see options which can change the game - wasn't the case 6 weeks ago! huge improvement.
-
Just been reading some Plymouth views, they're all raving about young Antonio - saying he was our main threat. Apparently he's ''strong'' and ''skillful'' on the run. - perfect! I think he's impressing AP too, seeing as he's been thrown into first team action already.
-
At L1 level it's huge spending. Lambo will potentially cost us up to 1.2m, Hammond was 300-400k and you've then got the loan fees to take into account (i can assure you that Papa has not joined us for free) We spent more on one player than clubs like Carlisle could spend on an entire team.
-
He's not - look back through his posts the guy's a loon.
-
One thing you get with Gillett is 110% effort and passion in his performances, you cannot fault that. I would say he's lacking slightly in presence to play consistently and regularly at this level of football, not because he's not good enough for it...but simply IMO he doesn't have the stature to give us what we need in midfield. replacing him with Hammond is fair IMO - he's also full of heart and effort, but Hammond is much more suited to this level because of his physical presence.
-
fantastic to see McLaggon included! Will be interesting to see how many mins he gets.
-
Top post - agree with all of that. If we don't manage it but we've given it a good shot, then it'll build alot of momentum for next year....then we could finally ''walk a league''
-
even more mental (no offence robbie) that he believes that we'll still have him as a manager, if he succeeds in scraping survial this year. come on robbie...!
-
If we stay up, he may have delievered that, but his position would be very unstable. Scraping survial would be a disaster for this team, the money that has been spent, the players we have..... if that's all we can manage this year, what's to say we'll be better prepared next year? Confortable top half mid-table is my view, we've left it too late for the playoffs IMO but we're too good to be anywhere near a relegation scrap come the 2nd half of the season....and if we are, something is wrong.

Blackberry's are brilliant. I've got the Bold 9000 and i really recommend it. It does pretty much anything you need a phone to do..and then more - and has an v good quality HD screen (ok, it's not a big screen but the quality is still v impressive) the built in GPS is a good bonus, and if you get it with vodafone you get a free 24 month subscription to their satnav application, works just like a tomtom. i've fiddled around with alot of blackberries over the last year, as i support them in my job - best by a long mile is def. the bold IMO - go for it.
-
i saw that...scared me. I thought it was our new one for a second, looked a bit closer...had a horrible feeling that this ML/Cortese/AP setup had been a complete dream!!
-
Why did you not take up your season ticket to arsenal? (i think it was them..) Every single post you make is complaining or criticizing any aspect of this football club - i don't understand what the hell you want from this club? If you want pardrew out - who exactly replaces him? Go on..enlighten me. I expect you're questioning Cortese and ML too - wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
-
Notts county fans should be very nervous. They just seem to be a middle eastern plaything, as soon as they get bored (which they will, should they hang around in L2/L1 for more than 3 years) then they'll be left hung and dry.
-
damn. (bloody sky..!) we could have had a decent gate for this tie, i'd imagine this will knock a few thousand off.

Saints 2009/10 would comfortably beat Saints 2008/09

Absolutely agree. Im not getting too carried away just yet. I remember these threads poped up when we went on a 5 match winning streak in our playoff season ''We are better than our relegated premiership side..'' etc. Still a long way to go before this lot can be compared to any past team! -
Explain this then Skates... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1219527/EXCLUSIVE-Portsmouth-facing-financial-ruin-unpaid-tax-bill.html You cannot pay the TAX up front, and you are you still trying to stagger payments, why would you do that if the guy who now owns you is full of cash? It still stinks, something isn't right.
-
+1 i agree with this and it annoys me when people say ''We just need to survive by 1 point'' that would mean we're still loosing with regularity in L1 ffs...we shouldn't be anywhere near the bottom half of the table with this lot. ..and we won't be.
-
Jesus, that would screw us over if he went. You can see the difference he's made so far. I'm sure if it's serious from Wycombe though, he'd love to dive back into management.
-
Made his first app. against Yeovil in the carling cup, back in 2005. He did v well - so GB threw him into the next league game (we didn't do v well and he struggled a bit) then he wasn't seen again under the GB regime...on the bench a few times, but that was it.
-
Agree - although a point at Oldham and a win v MK Dons at home would be a good return for me. Oldham will be a v v hard game, they're flying at the moment....
-
It's been a pretty good day for us! still just the 1 pt behind wycombe too...and brighton threw away a 2-0 lead at yeovil...
-
It's amazing really, at how quickly he's fixed us up if you think about it. He saw our weaknesses within a few weeks and had fixed them in a month. At swindon we looked like we were going to conceded with almost every free kick or set peice - but trotman has fixed that. Pard's brought him in to be the 'dominant'' header of the ball - and boy is he that.

Credit where it's due for Wotton. a good professional, who digs in and does the ugly side of the game whilst the advanced lads get on with their passing. It makes a huge difference to the confidence of a team when they know they've got a back 5 really.
