  1. Fry wouldn't be doing his job if he was not talking to potential investors, whilst the swiss are not 100% tied up yet. If this goes tits up and he's told all the other bidders to go home, what do we have left...?
  2. i don't think we can really say it's all ****ed up - we are not sat in fry's office are we? there are so many contracts, so many third parties involved - please stop thinking it's as simple as 1 bit of paper - ''please sign here'' it's not - it's a huge process that will always be subject to delays and last minute hitches. The feeling this time though is that the swiss are the real thing - they're doing this the correct way and if we have to wait a bit longer, then so bloody be it.
  3. been watching....they've been talking about Leeds, and how they will keep beckford...i reckon someones pulling your leg again...!
  4. Better than Shearer apparently
  5. Wow - that's a big prediction. Maybe you can re-register after 5pm
  6. Sheerer isn't actually contracted at Newcastle at the moment. The pre-season training and player movements are being decided by Colin Calderwood and Chris Hughton Sheerer may go back when they get bought out.
  7. Because it's a great club with great potential. you're not going to get a better bargain in English football at the moment.
  8. They stumped up the 500k before the Swiss - a bloody shame though, what a waste of time that was. If they've still been hanging around in the background all this time i think it shows how utterly committed they are to getting us - not just your flash in the pan attempt. really positive feeling about this...
  9. Jesus - this guy sounds scary. This is the worry - when administration drags on and on, little ''Asset stripping'' groups crawl from under the woodwork - always seems to happen. i just hope the swiss are actually the real deal this time.
  10. Spot on signing if it comes off - sort of player we've been missing out on in recent pre-seasons. Looks like Wottes been doing his homework tbf.
  11. This sounds great....but i wont be getting carried away....just yet we know where that's got us in the past. Southampton should be attracting this level of investment though, as a city and a club we've been underachieving for years - but with the right investment and management we could be extremely successful – I’m sure the Swiss know that. and also....this ties in with the ''Global name'' or something alone those lines - which Fry stated when he first took control.
  12. PR Plant alert. - typical Lowe way of doing things.
  13. Now jan-paul saeijs was a huge failure wasn't he...
  14. Also with Wottes more permanent appointment - it seems very likely that he will be returning...All we need is the takeover to be done. He’ll probably be the first singing – a huge coup for league 1 IMO.

    Surman

He's a good player - if he has good players around him - put him in our team of the last 2 seasons and he's understandably been average. He seemed to buckle under pressure a little as well... Good move for him though, not sure how regularly he'll play - but he'll do ok. i wish him all the best...
  16. nope, I'd never suggest that.......
  17. It'll be interesting to see what the format will be. I've listened to their online offerings for a while now - and they're very good...
  18. He's an odd one. - at least he has a hobby though. Wonder what club he'll try and take over next? I wonder if he'll knock on Pompeys door when their deal falls through (that's what im hearing...)
  19. That email is almost word for word from the one that they sent last week...
  20. Agree with you. I've got alot of respect for Wotte - he's very frank with his views, but that's not always a bad thing is it? We were better under Wotte than we were under Jan anyway, the team had a bit of 'shape' to it...rather than Jans ''Go and play wherever'' formation. If this is the first decision from the swiss, then they've already got off on the right foot IMO....
  21. It was inventible after their ''Exclusivity'' ended. I personally don't believe they were ever close to buying the club, I expect Lynam spent the majority of the time trying to find backers - They clearly did not have the funds from word go. The obstacles from the FL should not have been a last minute realisation, anyone with any business sense or intelligence to look at the Leeds case will know that it's not as straight forward as ''-10''. I will never forgive Lynam and the way they wasted the exclusivity period - and maybe I even questions Fry's judgement on awarding it to them. Something was fundamentally wrong with their ''bid'' from the day 1 - and I am so sad that they decided to pull MLT's name down with them. This is the end - and so typically, it ends in a farce.
  22. Let's hope not eh? load of tosh.
  23. They've run out of things to say. If they were almost close to completing (which they now need to be) then you'd expect them to be communicating with the local media. ...they're not because there's nothing more they can say, other than their best line ''we're still in detailed discussions with the FL'' - woffle imo.
  24. We've been waiting for weeks. the problem we all have is that it's been 48 ****ing hours away for almost 3 weeks. We simply do not have any more time, if it's not done this week then the club is dead - no more. Heck - they can still prove me wrong, but it's looking less and less likely as the hours tick on - let's hope one of the other parties come in.
