  1. I thought he was one of last seasons most improved players tbh. at the start of the season he was what he was, a young kid thrust into a professional league well before his time. But he got to grips with it...and i have no worries about him going to RB tbh, only thing we'll miss is the extra height Thomo gives us defending set pieces.
  2. '' I suppose he may turn out to be a bit of a buffoon, but I quite like that in a person'' and that is why he's a skate.
  3. ''i have been in contact with peter storie tonight and he is at breaking point and could walk away from the club !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he has told me that he cannot carry on this way , we the fans need to do something to stop this from happening whether you like the man or not without him we are truly fooked !!!!!!! lets stand together and show the world we wont allow our club to be laughed at again !!!!!! ONE CITY , ONE CLUB , ONE SET OF FANS WE ARE POMPEY !!!!!!!!!!''
  4. 'I am concerned that the coverage generated will distract the players from their preparations for Saturday's crucial game. 'I will convene this meeting again at the earliest opportunity. 'Play up Pompey!' lol @ that esp. the ''Play up pompey'' ahh it's brilliant, loving it.
  5. jesus, he's even more full of **** than i imagined. what is he doing. - complete coward
  6. Exactly. I look at clubs like Leeds, Forest, Wednesday and Ourselves....now if managed properly, we all have huge potential, greater than portsmouth..who are currently in the prem - no neutral can deny that.
  7. well he said 8m as they are the only premiership club south of London, so for some reason he's assuming that the reading fans, Brighton fans, saints fans, b'mounth fans will all jump ship and support the skates, as they're premiership. I took it as quite an offensive comment to all the lower league teams south of london....and tbh pompey will be one of them soon anyway. They couldn't be owned by a better person in my books, match made in heaven.
  8. ..i was about to quote that... That is actually a huge base they can call upon, damn then. Wish we were as popular.
  9. Pard's has more or less confirmed on Saints Player that Papa and Thomo are out of the game on Saturday. He states he's targeting a win there, as he wants to go to the home game v rovers on +1, as that will be an extremely hard game. Also said, in his usual honest way, that the fans have been outstanding...but he's sure they will loose faith at points during the season, because in his words....''we're not a very good team yet''.
  10. i ''think'' that fell through, as they didn't have the proven funding to start the ball rolling.
  11. Couldn't happen to a more deserving club. I think we'll be above them in league positions within 3 seasons. I might put a bet on it.
  12. He woffles aload of trollop doesn't he. ''We have come into Portsmouth because we see an enormous amount of potential here – if we chose this club ahead of others it was precisely because of that potential,'' i can name plenty more clubs with much much more potential than them. That's not me just being ''a saint'' - it's just a neutral view, they're not very well supported, they have a shed for a stadium, no planning permission and their training ground is at a college in Southampton. If that's what he calls potential, then he's barking.
  13. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1807314,00.html quite revealing by Pard's - first manager we've had in years who's so open about our training ground attitudes. I'd imagine training was like that after our few wins last season. Jesus, we were run by clowns. Hopefully Pard's does stamp it out of them.
  14. i think it's great that we can go through our team and have several options as outfield captains.....it's something we haven't had the luxury of in recent years. I wouldn't choose Jaidi though, i like captains to be in the midfield - whether you're attacking or defending, they'll always be involved.
  15. What Pard's (i assume you ment him, rather than curbs ) elluded too in the forum is that he'd like a ''90mins'' captain, and would keep Kelvin as the club captain. He wanted someone closer to the game during matches, and in his words...''we needed someone to control wayne, when he threw someone to the ground again''
  16. Surley has to be hammond. has been captain at all his clubs (ok, only 2 - but colchester & brighton) and plays in a way that leads the team. only logical choice imo.
  17. Rudi Skacel may be on his way there though http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=402&fid=17&sty=2&act=1&mid=2124482875
  18. carlisle 1-1 skates
  19. lol @ portsmouth. ahhhhh they're ****ed. but do we want Carlisle to have a confidence boosting win......or a morale sapping thrashing with red cards and a few knocks ahead of Saturday?
  20. I loved Nicola's comment about Pompey in that piece too.... (something along the lines of...) ''well, Portsmouth are the favorites for it - Whenever they get their act together!'' good man... (they wont btw)
  21. Nicola's other half i believe. Jammy sod.
  22. For me, the most revealing thing that came out from tonight, is how it seems Fry and BT dealt with the administration process. Cortese didn't speak highly of them at all, he even went as far as saying that it didn't seem that they wanted them - they were being pushed away and could have walked. I must admit, it did seem that Fry did favor Pinnacle - mainly due to the MLT factor i guess, as he knew that would be a popular buzz around the city. But by god, im glad they didn't walk away. Show's they're dedicated at least!
  23. When did we actually sign Saville? I didn't know we had him untill a couple of months ago He's slipped under the raydar to say the least.
  24. Pards came across brilliantly tonight. He speaks so much sense it's untrue. - it's weird, not used to it!
