This thread is just an identical replica of the threads from last summer, the summer before etc etc. Then it all went quiet after September as we did actually do the business people were panicking we wouldn't. Stop panicking, there's a world out there and plenty more to worry about.

Yeah, if he gets injured they're left with.........Wickham. Enough said. He'll get goals there, but I just feel that much money could be spent so much better elsewhere. They'll need to replace Bolasie though, or the service will be lacking.
-
I don't think Benteke is that good to be honest, not sure I'd be too happy to see us splash that sort of money on him. That might just be me though. He's not a bad player, but for us to spend £27m you'd need a proper game changing player - I don't think he is.

Just so I'm up with the latest movements on here, are we at the stage where we're jealous of palace again?
-
He got injured on his debut v Chelsea, 2nd half I think.
-
Yeah, just saw that. He's also got the AfCON in January, and it's apparentley at 'least' 4 months - Some west ham fans aren't expecting to see him again this season. This will have a bit of a knock on effect......WHU will not let Sakho go now, so WBA won't get him. so Berahino stays there...

I think he's generally just a quiet shy guy, and having a camera stuck in his face isn't really his forte. Some managers are all for the camera and are ''hollywood' as sky would put it, but some are much more reserved and quiet. I don't particulary think he's a dour or boring person, just shy and reserved in front of millions of people.

Yeah, but what if we can't spend the money we have recouped in sales, as it's earmarked to pay off debt? just putting that out there. (not that i know)

lol.

Maybe I can get you banned as well, that would top off my summer.

I think it says that people have woken up to your WUM act. Now jog on.

Thank **** Alpine has posted, now we can look forward to the new season with optimism.

Isn't that a bit OTT? Forster, Cedric, VVD, Davis, JWP, Tadic, Long.....all pretty much regular starts last year.
-
They want Jonas Hector as their left back. Ryan isn't going anywhere this summer, and if he did, it would be for ludicrous sums of money due to his freshly signed contract.

We sold Lallana, Lambert etc. Brought in Mane, Tadic - I'd say they've proven to be as effective, if not more effective for us. We've sold Mane and I'm pretty certain we'll still get another attacking player. We've signed Hoijberg, who people already believe will leave us in a year or two for bigger and better things - so that once again proves that we have replaced well. If we had a squad full of Marc Wilson's, Greg Cameron's, Whelans, Delaney's etc then we'd probably be able to keep our squad together. But we have been picked by the top clubs because we had/have top players that the Stoke's, Palace's etc don't have. Even Everton haven't been able to keep hold of Stones once a big club came calling, and rumour has it that Lukaku is getting a bit restless as he wants to head back to Chelsea. I still think this is the best chance of success for us, no matter what some say. We earmark players who have the potential to be starts at a top top club, we develop them and get success with them and then they move on and we go again. Frustrating it may be, but I'd rather we had players that other clubs wanted rather than being full of journeyman dross.

Yeah, Sunderland home game....then international's. Back mid-September, then a two week break in October. I don't really get into the season until Christmas and beyond tbh. We had enough torture in the summer from the international teams.

Whoever approved Glasgows full membership needs to be hung. This place was slightly more bearable last week.
-
I always feel a little flat at the start of the season, takes a few weeks to get the excitement flowing again. Once the European draw is out, the excitement will build I'm sure. Plenty to look forward to, but a lot of football fans are still in the summer slumber!

You're spot on. It's scary just how close we were to being run by SISU and we could have easily ended up with some mental owner as per the likes of Leeds/Hull/Blackpool etc. We're lucky and people should step back and think before spouting off obscene stuff about our current owner (and I've seen some incredibly personal stuff hurled at Kat, for no reason at all - not all on here). I think most of us get it and are appreciative of it, but there are the select few who are incredibly ungrateful.

I think Glasgow is a level 5 troll.

Stop chatting **** Glasgow.

''When Everton touches you, nothing will be the same''

Why would the club want to change the captaincy? That makes no sense at all. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

WTF jeff? Too many mistakes? care to name them? Let's not re-write history here. He's one of the best CB's in the league.
