To be honest, Sheffield Wednesday is a good club with a good manager. He'll get game time there and it will be interesting to see how he does. Not sure this makes an addition any more likely, I think we're just trimming the squad down a little.

That was incredible really. The only reason he did the original u-turn was because City withdrew their interest. Then once they came back in again, he flip flopped again. He deserves all the abuse he gets from Villa fans.

To be fair, I wouldn't have ever classed Jordy as a holding midfielder. Him, Pierre and JWP - to me - are very much the same type of player. There's no weakening of the squad by letting clasie go, in my opinion.

He was known as the dutch 'Xavi', not an attacking midfielder as such, more of a CM who can sit and dictate the tempo. Which he probably did in Holland. But he lacked the presence in this league and as Chez put earlier, games just passed the lad by at this level.
