  2. How's the Scott Dann transfer going?
  3. Stand still, you get left behind.
  4. TBF someone did ask the question(s)
  5. I think this is exactly what some people are missing. If we get a manager who doesn't use us as a stepping stone/is very loyal then we'll end up treading water for a few years in the middle of no where (alas Pulis, Hughes, Pardew etc). I want our next manager to take us even higher.
  6. I see the WHU club spokesmen is still around then. Utter tool he is.
  7. If signing Scott Dann doesn't show ambition then I'm not sure what will. Will be good backup for Sergio Ramos
  8. Who knows, but I don't think there was ever a scenario in whereby the club let him sit out his final year without extending.
  9. I've always thought that there was more to this than RK wanting to go, this is part the club decision as well. I remember Guan, or k,billy, mentioned that if he wouldn't sign an extension they wouldn't be against 'moving him' on this summer. I think in some respects this is what has happened. He was probably more than happy enough to stay for the last year and wouldn't have forced an exit. This is why I think people are being a bit too quick to jump in the 'Koeman is a c**t who has no loyalty' bandwagon.
  10. They seem to think they're set to become the new Man City, not entirely sure why.
  11. He'll likely be announced as Everton manager later today/this evening.
  12. Why do people keep saying Ancelotti? He's the Bayern Munich manager. And Gary Neville, seriously, can people drop this one. He may make a good manager, but let him do that elsewhere first.
  13. I wouldn't have thought our technical supplier will have any input on any football matters.
  14. Cool story.

    All quite RK

    Another good OP!
  16. I think Koeman has been Everton's no.1 choice to be honest. PSG interest would pip anyone though if that happens. I can't imagine someone who has managed a club to the EL for 3 years will go to a club not in any sort of European competition if he decides to move.
  17. Out of interest, what has Blanc done wrong to warrant the sack...?
  18. You would think that, but just take a step back for a second. There aren't any other jobs in the PL. He has come out publicly (can't find the quotes at the mo) saying he would love to manage in England one day. He was on West Ham's list last year, I think they interviewed him, and I think he is genuinely interested in managing over here. Think about it from a managers point of view. You could be coming to a league with the likes of Pep, Jose, Conte, Wenger and co all to go up against, any manager would love to test themselves at this level. With ourselves being such a stable club, financially sound and European football next year, I think you'd be surprised at how many 'named' European names would be interested in this role. It really is a great job for someone.
  19. Emery is the 'name' among European fans at the moment, he's managed to get a decent Sevilla side to win 3 Europa Leagues in a row - they're now the most successful club in EL history. They've retained their La Liga form and finish in and around the top 6. He's had a good team at his disposal, but he's had to deal with losing a lot of players - Sevilla, as a club, are similar to ourselves in that respect. They've lost the likes of Rakatic to Barca, Moreno, Navas over the last 2 or 3 years. But they have always replaced well, Kevin Gamiero came to the fore this year after Bacca's sale - and he has been excellent, and is another one likely to leave this year. So they have a high turnover, but a structure which allows them to replace sensibly and cleverly. I think they've just lost Banega to Inter as well. Funnily enough, Emry was the Valencia coach for a period - and replaced Ronald Koeman after he was sacked. FdB has been very successful in Holland, he won 4 titles in a row, lots of European experience and obviously has the pedigree as a player. He has done well with young players and nurtured some of the new Ajax starts who are coming through, his name was linked to a host of big clubs a few years back, but he stuck at Ajax and he's now a free agent. Both would be very good appointments and if we're looking for managers with experience in European football, then I'd imagine they'd be at the top of any list.
  20. I'd have thought we are long, long, long past the ''looking at'' phase. We will know who are options are, who we want, and all about them. We won't need to 'scout' them.
  21. Probably been a case of his agent doing all the negotiations on his behalf, he's now happy and wants to sign - but before we release him to enable him to sign, they have to pay the release fee.
  22. What are peoples obsession with former players who have never managed? (I'm not really taking into account the il-fated 5month stint at Valencia). Let an NPC club give them their english football chance. We can attract proven.
  23. Most of that came from the £35m the mental moyes spent on Fellani
  24. Is that queue our manager shortlist? Told you we'd be attracting all sorts.
