  1. The fact Swansea have the nerve to offer such a pittance.
  2. And we don't often grab players at a whim, all of our signings in recent years are ones we have a huge amount of information on - they're all targets for a period of time, in some cases - over 18 months. This is where you see the benefit of such a big scouting and player database system, when you need someone you don't have to panic - we have all the information available to us to make a sensible approach. So I think you're right, whoever we're after will have been a genuine target, whether or not Osvaldo left.
  3. lol @ swansea. comedy hour in their board room by the looks of it.
  4. They did well to get the 1.
  5. Just a bit late SSN!
  6. What an awesome stat.
  7. Let's hope any potential new striker doesn't fly around in the air like him though.
  8. Great result for Villa, what a ding-dong of a game! They were 2-0 down at one point! Looks like Mel is trying to do what MP did....coming in and implementing this brand new style. The thing is, you need the players to do it...we were fortunate that we had the likes of Morgan, Davis, Lallana, Jay etc who were absolute perfection for the style. Not quite sure the same can be said of WBA, they don't look that good - especially now that they got rid of long as well.
  9. Yeah, that would be a let down to be honest. We were interested in the summer though, as I remember a few articles.
  10. This is very true. We came close to winning it a while ago, but didn't. Yet that team still produced the likes of Dyer, Theo, Adam (I think), Bale was in and around it, Dexter, Craine..Mills....
  11. He speaks so much ****. You'd hope for a former player he'd have a bit of insight, tactically...and speak about stuff from his point of view that we'd find interesting. But no, he states the constant obvious in a monotone style. Horrendous co-commentator. He should stick to his horses.
  12. What actually happened to him??
  13. Yeah, that was also on my mind.
  14. Man City are simply unplayable. Way too good for Spurs. Aguero is just utter, utter class. Also a great save from Lloris in there, best keeper in the PL IMO.
  15. I remember those days. Wasn't it either Maynard or Beckford at the time? (Although to be fair, we did want Rodriguez back then too)
  16. Reckon we're going to try and make the Juve deal work for us in terms of Vukovic.... loan both ways I reckon. Apparently they're paying up to £14.8m for him, as it will become permanent in the summer. (loan fee included in the total amount). We get our money back, which is quite impressive.
  17. 99% sure that's in hand and is probably just as imminent.
  18. Di Marzio now saying that Osvaldo to Juve is pretty much done, pushing to finalise tonight.
  19. It's a hell of a move for Dani if it happens, the run-away leaders in Serie A and one of the biggest clubs in the world. Great move for him, and let's make sure we make it a great move for us as well.
  20. The best bit is when he turns to the Arsenal fans in a ''Did you see that??? Did you??'' kind of way. Love him.
  21. His stats from last night: Passes completed: 63/68 Ball recoveries: 7 Tackles: 6 Interceptions: 3 Clearances: 1 Incredible really.
  22. I'm hearing Osvaldo to Juve on loan with a loan fee paid them €11m at the end of the season. With Vucinic coming on loan for rest of the season. Also another play could be coming in. From not606, but it's a poster with genuine ITK credentials over there. Interesting.
  23. Why on earth do they want to televise that? Odd.
  24. They bought into being offered lots of $$$$. That's the long and short of it.
  25. Cardiff City open discussions to sell £8.5m summer signing Andreas Cornelius back to FC Copenhagen - for a loss of about £5m, reports Wales Online. The 20-year-old has failed to score for the Bluebirds in 11 matches since arriving from the Danish club. These big striker signings haven't worked out for many. From what I can tell, the only 'big' summer striker signing who has made an impact is Negredo. Soldado, Ricky-van-whatsit, Osvaldo, Cornelious, Bony (to a degree), Altidore. All cost big, big money and have all been pretty frustrating for their clubs. Rumour also has it that Ricky-van-whatsit is being made available for transfer.
