Gaston Ramirez is a luxury player. When we're winning and comfortable he looks one hell of a palyer, but when the pressure is on - away from home in particular - he struggles and doesn't (yet) have the necessary mental or physical strength for those situations.
In many ways, he's similar to Hatem Ben Arfa. When Newcastle were flying last year he was their star player, stand out every week. This year he's been in and out of the side with injury, and when he has played he has been noticeably poor.
Certain players respond differently to adversity and it seems to me as if Ramirez doesn't quite have the mentality to deal with it. If we stay up this year and grow next year, he will start to show us the player he really is.
