  1. We've looked ok so far, but then all of a sudden a little slip positional wise at LB and boom....almost a goal.
  2. I watched it, I tried not to be biased but he was easily the most comfortable player on the pitch when in possession. There was a moment in the first half I think, where he just glided past players. Not with pace, but with elegance. A very tidy player indeed, who doesn't look like your typical lightweight attacking player either. Puts himself a bit and looks quite strong.
  3. Nope, not at all. He's having an absolute stinker.
  4. He'd be a good shout actually. Swing it around in the 2nd half. Cleverley off, Carrick on - push Gerrard into Cleverly's position. Milner off, Sterling on. Get Chambo and Sterling getting their boots white and stretch the game, get them to rotate as well as they're quite able to do that. It would give us an injection into our attack and a bit of variation. We're still incredibly predictable. and Milner is a full backs dream, you could sit on an arm chair all game if you were a full back against him, because you know that when he's given the ball he will check back, stop, look, and pass back. Every.Single.Time.
  5. Because he runs around alot, and works hard. That's the only reason.
  6. I think they're doing certain models in batches. The older boxes need a slightly different coding, which is why it's taking a bit longer. I've got my newer box in my room updated, yet the older amstrad HD box downstairs is still on the old EPG. I think their target is to have all models done by end of play this year.
  7. Wouldn't want Lallana out there tonight if I'm honest. Not the greatest situation to make your England debut, could do more harm than good as he'd struggle to get into the game with the way we're playing. I'd pop on someone like Carrick and push Gerrard into Cleverley's position.
  8. What was up with the Cesc comparrions after Moldova? It's typical for everyone to get carried away after a 5-0 win over a conference standard team isn't it? Cleverly is another player in the long line of England players, that i simply don't get. I don't know what they do. They don't score, they don't create, they don't influence the game at all. Yet they're raved about. Same came be said for Milner and Welbeck. Oh, but they run around alot.
  9. I wish there was a way for the club to get out of this FL website contract, it's crap.
  10. I personally think Hooper deserves a chance.
  11. I do like how Roy is managing things if I'm honest, and I'm pretty sure that Neville is having a big impact on things too. That's not just because Adam has been called up, it's because he seems to know how to sensibly blend it between experience and youth. Let's remember, we haven't actually lost a game under him yet (ok, a penalty shoot out - but the game was 0-0) and I think we've only conceded a couple of goals? He's certainly made us hard to beat, as the Italy game in the Euro's goes to show.
  12. Would be very suprised if he gets any time on the pitch for this game, I think Woy has just seen this as an oppertunity to draft him in and get him used to the surroundings as I'm sure he's a player that will feature a fair bit over the next few years. I can imagine we'll be seeing Roy at St Mary's quite a lot, as we have a real quality backbone of young english players through our team. (Clyne, Cork, Rodriguez, Lallana, Ward-Prowse)
  13. This thread is probably the greatest thread on the entire internet.
  14. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11731/8070113/Swans-swoop-for-Tiendalli That's a little frustrating. Would have hoped we'd be in for a LB. Good quality as well on a short-term deal.
  15. Welbeck is a fine example of this country's obsession over players who run around a lot, but achieve very little. He works hard, chases down lost causes, is quick. But actually doesn't do anything. He doesn't score enough, he doesn't create enough chances and he's not got the greatest of touches. But who cares, he runs around alot. Welbeck for england!
  16. God, I bet he's begging his missus to hold that baby in for at least another week...!
  17. Great story really, pleased for him. Wolves wanted him 3 odd years ago, they lodged bids which were under consideration. If ML and Co hadn't have come in when they did, I'm sure he'd have had to make the same deciion as Drew. But he was loyal, he didn't demand to leave (As you saw with pillocks such as McGoaldrought) as I'm pretty sure he was aware of the interest. He just kept his head down. And it goes to show that making the jump to get into the PL quickly, doesn't always work out as you'd expect. He could have well gone to Wolves and been a bit part player, and then found himself a league below us a year or so later. But he's decided to stick with us, go through the leagues with us, and he's now rewarded with being a key player in our premier league side and our captain - and is now part of the England squad. Should be a message to all young players when the temptation is to run before you can walk.
  18. pompey are a good investment we have saudi arabia player Mazin Alhuthayfi playing in our academy . please make us a great ENGLISH PREMIER CLUB AGAIN. I'm sold, get me my wallet.
  19. The ''funded until 2016'' bit would have the alarm bells ringing very, very loudly. It's quite clearly a dodgy concortium, no one in their right mind would take over them when there are so many other available options out there. Another few years of fun to look forward to. It's quite cruel really, as it's sort of prolonging the suffering continuously. Who cares though, it's fun to watch.
  20. A cheated victory if there ever was one.
  21. I wonder how long it will take for the penny to actually drop? Appleton is actually a pretty hopeless football manager. Somehow they've managed to sign players like Russell, Williamson, Howard etc - and on that basis, they should be doing a hell of alot better than they are. They look, quite simply, atrocious. Embarrassingly bad, actually.
  22. There's no premier league games. It's all internationals. The PL is back next weekend, we're on Saturday @ 3pm.
  23. Who knows really? I think both are at fault, both need to knocks their heads together. But the likes of Benali and MLT are look like the bitter idiots coming out like they are. MLT on twitter ranting, getting Jeff Stelling to rant about NC. Beanli having a rant on Soccer AM. Just leave it, try and discuss it with the club officially because putting it out the open like this has killed any chance they ever had of killing this disagreement. I think the whole Puncheon saga shows that when it looks like all is lost, and there's no way back, a little behind the scenes work can put a hell of alot right again.
  24. No, I don't. But that wasn't the statement you responded with ''You don't know that' to. And i've only just caught up with the latest ''development's.. Christ on a bike, MLT you are starting to look like an idiot here. A petty, bitter, idiot with an agenda. Along with the rest of the ''old guys'' guys gang, in Benali, Lawrie etc. I'm all for respecting what they did for us, they are legends and always will be. But why is he acting like this? He's trying to rock the boat, for reasons that are beyond me. That's the last thing we need this year. He should just STFU. Simple as that. If he wants to air his views, then officially contact the club. Putting out in the open isn't going to help anyone. So he's just made the entire thing worse, and is possibly proving NC right in some ways. Cue me being called a member of the ''CoC'' or whatever.
  25. I think he does. It only takes a little bit of reading to see that NC heads up the Mali Group of businesses and that NC, as he admitted himself and also ML said the same, he introduced the idea to Markus. Markus wouldn't have known where to start if it wasn't for him. So we do know that.
