  1. Oh trust me, there would have been some threads started by the normal crew if we'd lost to Wednesday. Bit naive to think otherwise!
  2. http://www.joeybarton.com/
  3. Because we want to play 4-3-3, with a narrow front 3, and there will be more reliance on the full backs to provide the width right down the line - and it's important they're full of pace as well, I'm sure of it. I would say this signing is an upgrade to Fox in that extent. Also explains why we're after a ''midfield'' enforcer type. It's risky as we'll get picked off by the better teams for sure, but it's exciting because we're going to go for it next year.
  4. We want an attacking, adventurous full back without a doubt. We've got that with Clyne, and to an extend Richardson, on the right hand side.
  5. Not sure what you expect, we're being linked with Lens who is top half quality without a doubt. Once Rodriguez, Clyne and Davis settle we will have 3 top 10 standard PL players in our team. All 3 of those are coups for a club of our current stature. I'm looking at who WHU have bought and I can't see anyone of any note, Reading have kind of followed the same route as us but lesser quality. Teams like Wigan have done diddly squat. Our business so far as been excellent, if you're not pleased with that then you're never going to be pleased.
  6. Got to admire our ambition in going for him, but I don't think we'll secure it.
  7. What exactly is your problem with any of this? All i can see is positive, positive, positive.
  8. We've come a long way in an incredibly short period of time. Amazing progress really wen you think of it. Wasn't it a certain N'Gussan who provided the assist for the equaliser?
  9. Not a bad team at all really, should give Exeter a good game.
  10. Looking forward to seeing Clyne, and also Jay Rodriguez again. Was really impressed with him against Arsenal. I think this will give us a better idea of where we are, as Ajax are at the same stage, but still dangerous and too early to read too much into any end result
  11. hope Barnard impresses..
  12. Don't think so, I think they're just rehashing old stories to add a bit more beef to the article. That interest finished when we bought Jay Rodriguez, It was always a case of 1 or the other.
  13. I think we need pace on the flank, and he won't give us that. Good player, yep, but I think we need to spend our money on someone with a bit of pace - and I think adkins thinks the same..
  14. Not sure why this thread has descended into the usual **** storm with the usual suspects. It's actually quite interesting to see what they're updating from time to time, the screens will be quality and have needed sorting out for ages. Not sure why MLG has to be ridiculed for it.
  15. I think he's an excellent midfielder personally, versatile enough to also cover full back if required.
  16. More of a defensive midfielder, but he carries a goal threat. Very, very good player fwiw and is wasted up in the SPL.
  17. Apparently, a club in Turkey have met the valuation for Lens. No idea if true or not, just thought I'd add it. Very little going on anywhere at the mo.
  18. Ian Harte would be chomping at the bit to face us.
  19. The deal for Buttner has pretty much fallen through by all accounts, we couldn't reach an agreement, which is quite an escape going by your post. I do like Erik Pieters and he is a player I've mentioned on here before, he can also play at CB as you said and would cover us in that position.
  20. Thank you very much for the post - always nice to see forigen fans coming on here. For what it's worth I don't think we're looking for a ''finisher'' type, we're after someone who will create a bit of havoc and setup chances for our 5 strikers already here. Sounds to me that (if we get him) we want to deploy him on the right side of a front 3, allowing him to cut inside and join in with the strikers. Do you think this will suit his game? Pleased that you mentioned his pace as this is something our current squad has been lacking, so it's pleasing to see we're after players with genuine pace. What interests me about this is that your club has, IMO, set a price on his head and I reckon we'll come in with what you want. I think it may depend on what Lens want's.
  21. Very much this.
  22. He's only training with them because he's best mates with one of their strikers. There's no possibility of a loan.
  23. I think It'll be Steven Davis as I think Fonte will be the CB to make way. and Deano won't be a regular starter. Davis has captained his country and one of the biggest clubs in the land. No brainer in that respect.
  24. Here are lots of views from Birmingham fans, very positve, and laughs in the face of the 2 fans that told me he was slow. He basically sounds like a very cultured, technical centre back. We all know how much NA likes the CB's to be able to play out from the back...so that would explain why we want him as much as we do.
  25. He was awful last year, but then so were all the other BBurn players.
