  1. Not really.
  2. We've done ****ing well so far against one of the best teams in the world. No doubt their midweek game is a factor but even so we've done well.
  3. Superb goal. £35 Million for him
  4. Terrible decision. Absolutely ridiculous.
  5. How about one with a religious flavour? Danso wherever we may be Kev's in the centre of defence you see And he'll win the ball wherever it may be And we are the Saints and we hate Pompey
  6. Of all the players to pick out for criticism today, he'd be the last I would have chosen. Still work in progress but shows real quality at times and did nothing wrong that I can readily think of. Ings would be my pick today, a complete non-entity. No more effective than Austin was last season.
  7. Precast or readymix? Either way we should take it.
  8. Sorry but he has been dreadful. Truly dreadful.
  9. Pahars was on his list. I liked Pahars but one of the best players in world football is stretching it a bit.
  10. Agreed. Better gauge is tape measure head to toe then round waist. If head-toe measure goes round waist twice you’re all good. I was dismayed to discover mine barely made it round once (and I’m 6 foot 6).
  11. Good summary of our position. I don’t think we’ll be seeing any more significant signings until and unless we can sell someone for half decent money - Lemina/Boufal/McCarthy our best hopes there - so we can afford a new CB and let at least one of the failures go. If not we make do with what we have for another season. Not the best place to be, but we’ll probably be ok and better that than bloat the squad further with players we can’t afford.
  12. Clasie was nowhere near as bad as Elyounousi has been. Nowhere feckin’ near. He was still cr@p though.
  13. Top 6, Everton, Leicester, Wham. All will have failed massively if they finish below us next season. 10th is the new 7th. If we achieve that we'll have had a great season.
  14. Not completely beyond the bounds of possibility. He has shown certain attributes, actually looks quite cultured at times. A good manager should be able to improve him.
  15. Audience member with Elyounoussi shirt = club plant.
  16. Agreed. Hands down the worst player I've seen 'perform' for us since we came back up. That would be bad enough if he was free, but we paid circa £15m for this goon.
  17. Surly waiting staff.
  18. It works well in cricket because it is such a slow game, and the appeal is limited to what happened between ball leaving bowler’s hand and the subsequent catch or lbw. Agree with limiting reviews to a number of appeals but in reality that is just going to mean the first 2 goals and or penalties will be appealed and logically everything that happened between ball entering play and goal has to be examined. So if if a player on the conceding side has their shirt tugged in a midfield tussle leading up to the goal it should be disallowed. Fuxsake are we going to end up with “snicking” technology in everyone’s boots and the ball to detect if there was ball contact before foul? It’s incompatible with the pace of the game and will only work if used for picking up totally glaring mistakes which can be communicated to the ref in an instant. Even then it should be strictly limited to goals, pens and offsides leading to goals. Living with the human errors of officials is by far a lesser evil than minutes of forensic examination which ruin the game and still don’t guarantee the correct feckin’ decision.
  19. Ooh it’s a corner. Hold on a minute they’re reviewing it.
  20. Going for a s**t in the toilets at work without first checking that there is paper in the dispenser and subsequently discovering that there isn't.
  21. That's the one. And yes, Stig was Dump.
  22. If it's the same game I'm thinking of Andy Williams was unleashed on an unsuspecting public that day along with some Scandinavian 'striker' who played about 8 games for us and never scored. We lost 0 1, Nathan Blake scored for them.
  23. Almeida got turned inside out by Henry, think it was Henry's first ever goal for Arsenal.
  24. Some new signings don’t work out no matter how patient you are and how long you wait. I’ll give it 1 season but remain extremely sceptical.
  25. Fair enough Whitey.
