  1. That was always the case for me, Mel Blyth, Jim Steele 5 and 6. . McGrath No 5. I think Liverpool broke with the tradition when Ray Kennedy started regularly wearing 5 and playing MF.
  2. Have updated the translation
  3. Appears promising on there, although doubt some of his free kicks will creep in against GK in England as they did there. Look forward to seeing him play, expecting some fireworks and dramatics along the way though. I expect Adam Blackmore is at home practicing : " goooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllll ... !
  4. Think I read somewhere he can be a headcase, and his antics sparked a massive brawl in one match. Which is great, I've always wanted a return to the Alehouse days.
  5. He's clearly flavour of the month. We've no idea have we ? But if you look at the Youtube of him (Steve DE Ridder caveat noted of course) he looks fairly dynamic, with a bit more skill than the other names floated around. In a couple of clips he reminded me of Cyrille Regis when he was first discovered. Having said that he might in truth be a labouring carthorse, but at 6'5" or whatever would at least make a change from the labouring donkeys.. He's probably already built up in mongboard mythology, as its been decided it won't be him.
  6. Yes, a bit like Benali's goal, seeing that one was a bit of a collector's item wasn't it ? His only goal for us that I can remember. State of the pitches were pretty bad then in winter, incredible when you see the old footage on youtube now. I think The Dell and Derby's Baseball Ground were pretty notorious.
  7. Shame we didn't sign Cornet from Burnley as well.
  8. I expect Martin and Rasmus will talk him round to the project. Rasmus is probably drafting a few spreadsheets, and powerpoints for his 'Potter Presentation' as I type.
  9. Yes. Difficulty both have in facing their squads at their respective levels, is that the players mindset is geared to 'who the fuck are you, what have you ever won, and why should we listen to you ?' That's assuming they've got a cogent game plan, and can put their message across.
  10. Ditto.
  11. See if we win 3-0 at Goodison next week then.
  12. Probably a premium on top if being sold to EPL.
  13. Better still Elyonoussi.
  14. Have said a few times, that the Brentford success is down to others work whilst he has just talked about it. Yes of course he will, although it does have a feel of the child's tale about The Emperors Clothes. Perhaps that was really written by Hans Christian Ankersen.
  15. Don't think Moffi looks worth that sort of money from the youtube clips, however reliable that can be. He looks a bit of a 'bulldozer' though. Beto on the other hand looked impressive, the film shown reminded me of Cyrille Regis when he first burst onto the scene. Trouble being I suspect Udinese are difficult to deal with.
  16. Yes, mistake was extending his stay into the next season. Having said that, he was aided by Swansea falling apart.
  17. All of the face of it good options, or would have been at the beginning of the season (if they were available then), and might be again. But, big question is, why would they without any experience in this country, be considered better options, and a 'safer pair of hands' than someone from the Championship with a decent track record there ? This is not about style of football, but whether they or others might save us from the drop. So an immediate impact is required.
  18. LGTL (SINCE EDITED) I agree the appointment was a poor one, and doesn't look like ending well, but come on we don't have to plummet the depths to the character assassination and some of the spiteful comments made, some filtering from his time at Stoke. I'm sure many of us have taken a job and found within a short time that it was a mistake, I'm out of my depth, or not what I was expecting. The culprits are the people who appointed him, and are removed from the front line of supporters abuse (or at least think they are).
  19. Will he be our first no '99' as that looked to be his preferred no at Zagreb ?
  20. Doesn't he play on the same side an position as Orsic ?
  21. No one will be 100% accurate if relying on snippets passed to them from sources, but Pilchards was the first one to post the name of Nathan Jones in the summer. His credits good with me.
  22. Will recover pretty rapidly if Bayern or Dortmund make a bid I'm sure.
  23. Rishi will sort it.
  24. Only when things were going well, and the world was interested in how amazing our transfer strategy and black box were. He seemed to disappear a season or so later, after the VVD/Fonte/CB fuck up in 2017 and onwards. I had a chance meeting with Blackmore once (probably 2018 from memory) who said they'd invited Reed to voice the club's position and intentions several times but they couldn't get any response.
  25. A good listen. Adam the most outspoken I’ve heard him. Doswell certainly captures most fans feelings at the moment.
