  1. Trouble is though, stewards are only gestapo in dealing with home fans. For away fans they take on the guise of kindly church wardens showing and watching over the flock in their pews.
  2. Have to wonder why he hasn’t been signed somewhere else as he’s been linked with half the EPL over the last few years
  3. To loan him out to another club in our (fantasy) pyramid that hasn’t fallen into place as yet.
  4. Do you mean for Ralph, or the team facing relegation ? Worth remembering if we do lose, and Ralph goes, there are still 36 games to get it right. Whether we can trust the Board to get the appointment right is of course another matter (and whole new different thread).
  5. But presumably Ralph is Semmen's man, and has Crocker's vote of comfidence and backing. This being the case you wonder where and how far the 'bloodletting' if it happens will occur
  6. If Poch returns then my pricks a kipper.
  7. Branfoot telling us we couldn’t afford to live in the same street as Leeds many years ago (possibly 30) was galling at the time but we all understood the logic to it. The inferences from Semmens and the current board that we can barely compete with the most of the league including Brighton’s, Palaces etc, or whoever doesn’t stack up to me. Too accepting of a humble status as you say. Doubt this is what SR signed up for. We’ll never be too 6 etc but no reason we can’t compete in the Europa League hopefuls.Hopefully they will inject some ambition again to compete.
  8. Bet that games been airbrushed out of ‘arry’s CV though
  9. Don’t think we can blame him for the signings, listening to Semmens last night he reinforced the club’s obsession with young players, Any incoming seem to have to match up with the photofit provided, so don’t think these are RH choices. As I’ve outlined before Ralph might have wanted Orban or Hinterigger but been told we were bringing in some African kid who’s spent just one season in Spain. Agreed, think the clubs setting the agenda on signings, immediately improving the first team is not the goal.
  10. I’m of a similar vintage and have the same concerns although it’s not so much just the manager (whoever it might be) or Ralph, as the club management who are causing me to question the continued support. Trouble is there has been too much time and emotion tied up in following the club over 50years to simply say ‘shove it’, had enough and pack the interest in.
  11. Have to wonder how fucking long it will take for this penny to drop. At the moment it seems Crocker, Semmens and possibly Rasmus are living in fantasy land that every young player they bring in, and throw in at the deep end is going to develop into an £80m player to sell on. Dose of reality for them, who was the last one to do so, not Djeneppo, Ely, or even Che. Also, relegated clubs aren’t in a strong bargaining position when the vultures come looking for players who want ‘out’.
  12. This image has come to stick with you a bit hasn’t it ? Not the first time I’ve seen it mentioned.
  13. As in Javi de ?
  14. Seriously have to question the management of the club at times and the direction they are going in, whether that’s Semmens, Crocker , and more recently SR for it continuing.
  15. .. plus experience and track record
  16. Sort of signing that has our hallmarks over it, especially with Shields involvement. Would be another act of stupidity though if only bringing in yet another inexperienced striker in the hope he makes the grade.
  17. If RH is to move into an ‘upstairs role’ I suspect it would be with the wider SR group rather than SFC. Issue being of course that SR have yet to expand the group to warrant this role.
  18. My understanding of the management was that Semmens is the CEO for the running of the club. Matt Crocker is the football person, though not a DOF as far as I’m aware. The appointment of Joe Shields appears positive, although we continue with our policy of mainly kindergarten recruitment. This something for SR to address.
  19. Not without the Brentford recruitment team though.

    Sean Dyche?

    No.
  21. We’ve only had all summer to address this, or explore the option of someone such as Gakpo. Three weeks of the window left, and one poor performance and heavy defeat later, we’re still scratching around.
  22. If the player wanted to join Utd he’d get his way, as he has done on leaving Stoke and West Ham. He’s not known for letting things like a contract getting in the way.
  23. Clearly Man Utd aren’t convinced by Kaladjnic being the player for them. Yesterday won’t have helped us persuading him or anyone else of quality to come to us.
  24. Interesting and decent option there CC, but out of interest, any idea why it didn’t work out at Dortmund? I got the impression a fall out with DOF, but not sure. Another name from the Bundesliga someone put forward last season was Svennson at Mainz. But of course he’s currently in employment so will need SR to change the club’s usual practice.
  25. I’ve supported Ralph but am surprised he’s still in post. He looked broken and disinterested during the lap around the pitch at the end of last season. I think it’s now a matter of when rather than if he goes. Was hoping the change of backroom staff might change our fortunes but clearly not. I don’t think Selles was an RH selection and the others appear to be more ‘rearranging deckchairs’. Don’t think Selles has had the impact as a defensive coach that’s for sure. I don’t blame RH for the recruitment policy. But tactics and selection are at his door. Leaving Adams out not bringing him on for AA is bizarre. Have to wonder if we don’t win against Leeds whether Ralph will match or better Sturrocks three games at the start of 2004/5.
