Good job they aren't going to face any team with either red or blue on their shirts this season. That was well thought out.
  2. Might also depend on how he conducts himself in the media on leaving. Apart from that I'm indifferent, always seemed a decent bloke during his time with us though not as good as he thinks he is. Just a shame about the club he's joining.
  3. Yes. Remains the "Sports Echo" to many of us from the 60's and 70's. Why they changed the title, ridiculous.
  4. Great in theory, but could be another Danso rather than a Mane.
  5. RB Salzburg no longer sell cheap. Best move would be to just bring in RB Salzburg's head of recruitment.
  6. Flaw in your strategy though is that Leicester are reported to be offering Maddison £100,000 a week to sign the new contact. Not sure that is our way. Although of course we did try something similar when Reed gave Forster his new contract a year into the existing one. Net result we can't offload him. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
  7. £12m for KWP. For a player clearly surplus to requirements at spurs. Stunning ?
  8. What became of him ? I recall he was highly rated when he came through and some people thought he might be as good as Channon'. Wasn't his career curtailed by injury ?
  9. Suspect might have been late 60's if Channon played as he was fully established by the 1970/1 season (or at least he was in my mind anyway).
  10. Main distinction being that the old Combination League was regional and only southern teams were involved irrespective of what division the club were in. I recall seeing the reserves v Oxford and Reading when both were in then Divisions 3 & 4.
  11. Hojberg is a full international, c £20m, possibly £15plus KWP (although still light in my view). KWP, no more than £10m for a player clearly surplus to requirements at spurs. In January £5m might have been closer to the mark.
  12. Underpaid for Hojberg, overpaying for KWP. No one saw that coming did they ? Really ? Hope you're proved right, but I don't see it as a bargain personally.
  13. A well trodden path for Danish youngsters. Can't blame him really.
  14. Agreed. It's an 'end of season syndrome' , where a few good games masks a few months( couple of seasons even) indifferent displays.
  15. This seems to be the practice nowadays. What happened to being "allowed" to speak to the player ? I assume that went out of the window with agents, who buying clubs are allowed to freely engage with irrespective of the selling club's stance. Surprised in some ways FIFA haven't tried to extend the restriction to agents, but in truth they've probably no appetite to do so as it would alienate those higher up the chain.

Don't mind the navy blue shirt, and the yellow contrast is quite nice. Would have preferred yellow shorts, or sky blue even. Agree with MLG re the Keegan era away kit though.
  17. Agree. Remember the Gospel according to Rupert "we don't deal with North London Yobbos". My initial preference was Zeefuik, but if he's not interested then I don't see KWP as the solution to our problems. He has played reasonably well and is an improvement on Valery this season no doubt but I'm amazed so many see him as such a prospect, he had c 20 games for spurs and about 8 games for us during an end of season run in. For me, he doesn't seems particularly powerful and another shortarse. We know the problems a shortarsed Cedric caused us.
  18. I concluded a few seasons ago that FF doesn't make "saves" but does "blocks", his favourite one was always with his feet or ankles, often knocking the ball back into the danger zone.
  19. Can't see him gettting Can't see him getting the sort of job he's previously been linked with, Arsenal, Everton etc, Skates will provide him with a 'face saving' route back. Hughton heavily linked with Bristol City. Job for Adkins perhaps ?
  20. Barry the Briefcase has now made it into the nationals: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8582417/British-28-stone-conman-74-spared-jail-fat.html Fat c^nt. Summary: A judge at Southampton Crown Court said jail staff would struggle to get 28-stone Barry Beardall out of bed in the morning

Hardly something to complain about, looks better without the logo.
  22. Possibly because they consider Balogun a better prospect, or a better player who might contribute more now.
  23. I for one won't believe any rumours until an estate agent in Winchester hints the player is looking to rent Martin O'Neill's flat.
  24. Not Premier League but going back it'd be hard to beat Channon and Osgood.
