Leeds now interested ? https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-leeds-hijack-norwich-deal-for-gunn-after-fee-agreed/ Probably not a reliable source.

Exciting young Saints players who have not made the grade

Mills and Crainie were both talked about as outstanding prospects and a future CB pairing for us. Didn't they both left during 'Arry's time with us ? -

Exception to the rule perhaps..... although still hasn't 'made it' in England -

Haven't re-read the thread but it's probably a safe bet that if they hadn't made it in 2010 they still haven't. -
Crying shame that we start the season with either of them as first choice let alone both.
-
Probably in fear of it being noticed by the authorities in China, which Ashley doesn't have to worry about. Assuming of course it was connected to Gao.

Perhaps a common theme in your posts. I realise that Watson is no longer our GK coach but it did seem they all regressed during his time coaching, although no improvement has been detected since either. Will be interesting if Gunn goes to Norwich if he starts to improve again, certainly being "home" and having a run in the team might help his confidence.

Age 27, outside of our profile and age "to improve" ! Personally would like to see some experienced players brought in as well as those to develop.

Is that the same as Watmough (OG) as he appears in the press ?

Surprised you're allowed to use "gammon" as a term of abuse in fear of offending vegans, and the animal welfare lobby. Pigslivesmatter# and all that. -
Neither of whom played as a full back in the Premier League. Will give you the benefit of the doubt though Whitey, as I don't know how an illustrious playing career you may have had.
-
Surprised Leeds have according to reports last week dropped out due to the fee, although they've since been linked with some Spanish lb at €3.5m.
-
Will also depend on what is in his contract, and whether the club agreed to let him know of any bids over a certain amount, or from Top 6 (which Villa aren't of course).

Forget padded seats in the Kingsland, perhaps we should have one stand for Guardian readers, and another for Daily Mail. -
Always seemed to me that encouraging a GK to play with the ball at his feet is an invitation to a clusterfuck (Gunn v Huddersfield was another one, McCarthy v Arsenal, and FF's 'air kick' at Palace, away from us even Allison for Liverpool this season). But in the Pep inspired era it seems something most managers are now committed to.

If we're the only team at the Euros persisting with this routine it will be interpreted across Europe that we're merely copying America. No matter how well intentioned it may be, is this a message we want to send ? -
Fair enough. Looks pretty impressive from that and fairly intimidating ! Surprised that the article you link suggests €15m . Whether we could scape that with other areas to be addressed is another matter of course.
-
You're probably right but unfortunately if we've already publicly stated we're not looking for a DM in Delaney (who was rumoured at £6-8m) can't see us goining for Gruijic. Have seen the name on here before but don't really know anything else about him. If we are looking at a GK though it's a position I'd like to se us going for a more experienced one though rather than following the "one for the future" route.
-
Perraud has been linked with us before, and previously I'd read good things about him but that link does highlight a few weaknesses as well. Surprised we're linked with him if Leeds feel he's overpriced as reported.
-
Or use it as a chance to offload Ely.

Think the Brentford kit is smarter due to the collar, and the fact it is r/w striped back rather than plain it's certainly an upgrade on ours. Will need to see ours in person, but am hoping the chevrons in the white don't give an impression of 'grey' tinge to our shirts. Agree with others who have commented that the white sleeves from our promotion year might have been better.

Wolves fan up there has said that a number of rumblings that Nuno was unhappy with the club, and that the 'preferred leak and gossip' was that he was a bit homesick, and lockdown prevented him seeing his family. The other comment doing the rounds was that he was pissed off with the direction of the club, and speculated that the Chinese owners were losing interest. Sound familiar ? Nuno is a difficult one to call though, did a great job at Wolves but that was largely on the back of Wolves agent connection enabling signing of Portuguese players. Could be a different story faced with a mediocre squad at somewhere like Palace, or even without access to what might be his preferred player market
-
Agreed, more I read about him following the link the more it seemed a good option if we could swing it. Unfortunately we're now distanced from the potential move.
-
By all means bang your drum, but it goes without saying the standard of defending, and goalkeeping in the clips is pretty dire. Look at the first goal, a GK error he'd only be gifted with playing against us not for us, creating an opportunity that even Shane Long might have hit the post from. As for the celebration, looks impressive but knowing our luck he'd do it once in front of the Northam, land on his head and break his neck.

In his own mind and that of his agent he'll expect to oust Cresswell, and the lure of London, European football, and the additional £££ available will probably sway it. Anyway this is unlikely to be settled quickly despite the press reports. Junior's been told to "take his time young man, as mama used to say". * *1980's thing for the younger readers.
