Agree. Abysmal decision even if supposedly financially better for FA. We’ve got several grounds capable of hosting SF now.
-
Never mind quoting Shakespeare (and no offence to Whitey, respect his knowledge) but I prefer the 1976 Channon “We’ve got to win the bloody thing now ..,”
-
They play Arsenal the week before. Perhaps we should hope they win and that the league is their priority ( plus multiple injuries and red cards)
-
picture the scene of an FA executive on the phone to Sky and the media sponsors : (in a John Le Mesurier sort of voice): “Well sir, it was all going rather to plan, but then somehow ‘Gerry’ sent some young bloke in completely under the radar to infiltrate the workings and sabotage it …, But we’re working on it with colleagues in VAR to see it doesn’t happen again..” …

MLG required to explain this theory and fallacy …
-
If Nathan J can spike their plans for a quadruple, Tonda can do the same for their domestic clean sweep.
-
We just have to ensure we fuck the plan up for them.
-
As much as I like your optimism, I can’t help but think , shit, fuck, and bollocks ..

Quite a prospect if 1970 rules apply

Yes, credit where it’s due. Many, me included, were doubtful of this appointment given his track record. But no denying the timing of his arrival and our form. We don’t know what he does, but even if it’s just putting the cones out, his contribution is helping, so well done. Many assistants don’t make good managers. But someone not making their mark as a manager or head coach could still be a good part of the backroom team (Kidd, and McLaren spring to mind)

How do you spin winning this on penalties ? Wsst Ham - from 2-0 will look at it, saying it’s our year. Leeds - throwing a 2-0 lead away, not so sure, as to how they nearly threw it away.
-
Have either gone through on pens before this season ? Just remembered West Ham did v Brentford
-
Or a new range in Scottish tinned fish. Frasers - wasn’t that Cav House (RIP) local to us ?
-
Agree with this. In recent weeks Tonda has used the squad well. Downes and Charles in central MF for me. Fellows probably on for first hour. Stewart rested for Derby.
-
No surprise. Wrexham isn’t far from Merseyside as the crow flies.
-
Shouldn’t you call the poster a ‘f’kin melt’ for maximum effect ?
-
Made I laugh. You must work in marketing or negotiations on naming rights.
-
Doesn’t this now invoke the unwritten FA/Sky rule that Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal are now automatically reinstated in the draw ?
-
Pretty distant from my only visit there (2023).

Inclined to agree. Chelsea blow hot and cold, despite the multibillion squad at their disposal. (But on balance, sensibly, we’d be out of our depth playing them. Just as we were Arsenal of course ! ). City … would like to avoid.

The big concern re Spors for me is that he is headhunted by another club or group, either here on in Germany. He might be tempted by either money, homesickness, or both. His first move of course would try to take his protege with him.
-
Yeh, but the media love a “proper working class football club”. Or at least they do when they’re not salivating and arselicking those owned by oligarchs, US billionaires, and oil states finding ways to skirt round the financial rules that apply to everyone else.
-
Have to wonder if the club have made a balls up in releasing limited edition 1976 shirts at £120 a time. Now that we’ve reached a SF there could be thousands wanting them, perhaps forced to buy from a dodgy inline outlet. Having said ‘limited edition’ they can hardly suddenly have 000’s available for general sale. Unless perhaps there is some slight variation, different crest with 2026 FA Cup on it, and possibly no autographs on the body. But you might feel peeved having bought one for £120 if they did that.
-
Should have been sent after he sacked Still but in fairness he has compensated by bringing in Tonda.
-
Can’t be right. Aren’t they meant to be the Northern version of the ‘bestest’ in the world ? In fairness they can be good, although a bit muted at end of play off final. Would prefer West Ham in SF if possible.
