But surely if the player as client says I want to stay at Saints (or any other club) then that’s the end of the matter and his agent shouldn’t be hawking him around. They will of course be saying look the best I can get there is £x, and a move to wherever is £y, but the focus should be the deal with the preferred club. Seems tail trying to wag the dog. Players should have the gumption to tell the agent to fuck off if they’re not listening. (Totally agree with you about the WC).
